Here's a quick round-up of news about new sets:

  • Dutch toy shop SinQel has published official images of nearly all the summer sets. I've added those we had missing to the database. (Thanks Jan for the news). Update: it looks as if LEGO has requested their removal.
  • A new Nexo Knights battle pack, 853677 has been discovered in Brand stores and LEGOLAND parks. Images have been uploaded to LEGO's server but it's not yet offered for sale at shop.LEGO.com. (Thanks Jez for the news)
  • The Brick Fan is reporting that 30611 R2-D2 might be the May the Fourth gift with purchase this year. It makes a welcome change from random minifigs that are usually offered.

I'm looking forward to that R2-D2,it reminds me of 10215.

By in United States,

I'm a little disappointed with the R2-D2 build for May the 4th. Not going to lie. But I am a minifigure collector so

By in Puerto Rico,

It's good to know that this year May the Fourth will be worth it, hope more figures follow suit but I would have loved to get someone else (zombies Trooper).

By in United Arab Emirates,

Haven't seen any pictures yet but I am a little excited about the Christmas Santa Duplo set ????

By in United States,

Thanks for the link BrianG! 4-Lom's molded head piece looks great and I love that they added the foot printing to Bossk (just like I did by adding vinyl decals to mine). The summer City sets look awesome too! What an expensive Lego summer it will be, I really hope we have our old house sold by then. Which reminds me, does anyone want to buy a house?

Oh my, that R2-D2 looks awesome! I'm not even a fan of Artoo, but ... wow. And the Bounty Hunter set looks fun to own.

By in France,

any news on the R3-M2 droid?

Gravatar
By in United States,

In the database R3-M2 now has the following notes:

AVAILABILITY Promotional
NOTES[US] Available with qualifying purchases at LEGOLAND.

Does anyone have any details on this? This is the first I've seen any indication of availability outside of Romania where it was first spotted.

By in United Kingdom,

I thin it turned up at LLCA a while ago.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is there a release date for the summer sets? Anyone know when should we expect them to see them start appearing in the stores?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I might actually keep the May 4th promo this year...

By in United Kingdom,

I'm a bit annoyed at the bus. Being in the UK, I convert all my vehicles to right-hand-drive while building them. But this will take some considerable redesigning to make it a proper UK bus

By in United Kingdom,

Just zoomed in on the r2 d2 polybag model and for a small brick built toy it's quite detailed and cute I,d love that as its more affordable than the technic version from a few years ago. And also looked on the Dutch site too I like some of the elves sets and lego friends snow resort theme..

By in United Kingdom,

I was really hoping for a Saw Gerrera minifig for May 4th :(

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Given the obscurity of previous years' May the 4th I figured we were up for Stormtrooper XC-3247 or maybe even Gary the Stromtrooper

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Amanaman minifigure for May 4th 2018 please

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

R3-M2 was also offered as a TrU promotional in Denmark.

By in Australia,

@Speed champions fan - I live in Australia and I do the same!

By in United Kingdom,

I think the next May the fourth promotion should a princess Leia polybag in the bounty hunter outfit with removable helmet, carrying that staff and one of those glowing grenades she presented at jabba,s palace in return of the Jedi. In memory of Carrie Fisher.
Or plan b Han solo,s carbonite block but more metallic version.

R2 is nice, but I'd prefer a minifigure (although not something lame like the first order trooper). Han with the brown jacket seems kinda lame in hindsight, but it was cool at the time, I guess. May 4th is a great opportunity to provide us with a figure thay we'd never get otherwise. Absolutely loved that chrome protocol droid. I'd give anything to get a chrome 3po with updated color printing.

By in United States,

I was hoping for a wider selection of animals in the City Jungle sets, but overall I think I'll be getting these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ Those jungle sets are cool, aren't they? I love the animal that appears to be a cheetah.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That Bounty Hunter battle pack looks nice. I'm not sure why you'd want very many multiple ones except for the Bossk head, however, the minifigures are fantastic. The Dengar looks the same as the one in the Eclipse Fighter from last year. However, is that IG 88 the same design as the one from the Super Star Destroyer 6 or 7 years ago?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I kind of like the jungle sets, but I really don't like that they went with a kind of "hidden temple" theme. This is meant to be a city, not Indiana Jones! I'll still get the smaller sets for the vehicles though...

I like the bus. When I heard 'bus station' was going to be a set I thought it would be a big set - but this one looks like it's in my price range. The bus doesn't seem to have a ramp though for the person using the wheelchair to get on the bus!! And the doors are on the 'wrong' side!! But I like this set. I want it.

By in Finland,

@bookmum
I've never seen any kind of a ramp in a bus. At least in Finland. Usually wheelchairs, rollators, walkers etc. are simply lifted inside by hand. Of course, this might vary internationally.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@TransNeonOrangeSpaceman I'm surprised I thought Europe was ahead of North America in this regard we've had them in Ottawa for years. The bus lowers a bit and then a platform folds outwards to act as a ramp

@bookmum

Actually, the set does appear to have some kind of ramp for getting the wheelchair on the bus. There is a Plate W. Bow 2X4X2/3 directly in front of the double doors. From the picture it's hard to tell if it's part of the bus or part of the bus station.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am not a Star Wars fan, but I really like the look of the May the 4th R2D2!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ramps on buses in the UK are pretty much on all buses. Some are automatic and some the driver has to flip it out manually. Looking closely at the pic there is a bit that could be a ramp but it also looks like it could be the floor of the bus shelter. I wasn't saying it as a massive critisism or anything - I think the set is brilliant!! (except for the thing about the doors and steering wheel being on the 'wrong' side!! Haha)

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Ramps are also common here in Denmark. Normally they are positioned at the exit door in the middle of the bus. - Actually, I do not remember I have ever seen a ramp being used... :/

The new bus is a modern one. Take a look at the front (you will have to zoom) :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The bus says "electric hybrid" on the front, but a hybrid still has an internal combustion engine, it's just assisted by electric motors. Therefore the bus would still need a radiator, unless it's air cooled, which is very unlikely considering that it's meant to be a modern, "eco-friendly" bus, and air cooled engines are not the most fuel-economical
