By in Belgium,

I voted for Black Widow. The build for the hair did it for me.

By in United Kingdom,

I really hope they get round to doing some Star Wars ones at some point! Maybe a Boba Fett or Vader.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sure hope you guys have a competition in the works..

By in United States,

I initially was not very interested in the concept, but I bought Belle and Beast and realized how fun they are. Small enough to display without being a space issue.

By in Germany,

Haha, 215 votes and 35 % don't like Brickheadz. Great stuff. Totally deserved, replacing Mixels with these abominations and selling them for 150 % more.

Gravatar
By in Indonesia,

Well, if 40% of 474 (and counting) voters don't like BrickHeadz that means 60% harbor some kind of positive feelings. I think that's quite high for 1 single theme!

Gravatar
By in United States,

What!?!? How can so many people not like Brickheadz? They're awesome!! Iron Man is my favorite!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yea, over 50% approval on a single theme seems pretty impressive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I agree with those saying that over 50% liking a theme is good.

Would be interesting to see how many like Star Wars sets, or Minecraft sets, or Nexo Knights sets. Or how many didn't like Mixels, for something more directly comparable. Personally not interested in any of them, other than the last series of Mixels, but have a particular dislike for the Minecraft ones.

Back to the best BrickHeadz set, I went for Black Widow. Not built her yet, but just looking at her, she appears to have some pretty interesting building for her hair.

By in Netherlands,

I have a favourite brickheadz, but I also don't really like the line, so I really have to fill in two.

Gravatar
By in United States,

lol the vast majority don't like the BrickHeadz
bad sign for theses in the future

Gravatar
By in United States,

How 38% is the majority?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Brickheadz, pass. Ugly abominations.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wonder when series 2 will be out? Wonder if they'll churn them out like CMF's?
I am a fan of brickheadz

Popular reasons why people dont like Brickheadz - just relaying these, dont necessarily agree with them, just saying them so people can understand some of the reasons why roughly 40% of voters might not like them;

- The interior pieces are always re-used, effectively meaning a portion of what you are spending is going towards buying the same body over again. Rather than just paying for the pieces to make the body look how you want, you have to pay for the same body again for every Brickhead figure

- Cost is one of the main concerns - due to the nature of the characters and many being from licensed themes they are arguably 2-3 times more expensive than Bricklinking the pieces to build them yourself.

- Lack of interesting/useful pieces, other than the interior pieces and potentially a specific printed piece i've seen minimal interest in regards to the parts included - which are mostly tiles in specific colours.

- Lack of moving. Buying Lego nowadays you normally want to add something to it, whether its posing or simply a fun little gimmick. The lack of all movement in the Brickheadz means you are basically buying them for a Lego themed statue of a specific character. This does not appeal to every fan and they perhaps may have benefited from including a rotation point for the heads or simply moveable arms. If they wanted they could go all-out and basically turn the Brickheadz into smaller versions of the brick-built Lego figures like Giant-Man and Ares.

- No point collecting. Eight of them were made exclusive immediately via SDCC including the comic versions of Joker, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange and Black Panther. As such many have been put off collecting the theme because they would likely never get their hands on the others.

- The general look. Many are turned away by the stylised design of the Brickheadz figures. Personally it reminds me of Battleblock Theatre.

I didnt see the "I don't like brick heads" button before I voted for iron man

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice. What's the point of including "I don't like___" as an option? That's sort of rude to the people who do care and want to compare and discuss the Brickheadz sets.

Don't see many other polls that are Option 1, Option 2, Option 3, Option: The thing you like sucks and we'll troll you about it by making this an choice.

By in France,

I feel very reluctant to vote since the option: 'I don't like the BrickHeadz' does not really reflect my impression/opinion of this theme, which is more sort of 'I don't care much for them' rather than a outspoken dislike. They remind me of some sort of cartoony/anime Japanese figurines with flowing round smooth shapes and textures, beady eyes, big heads, small bodies, made/cast out of one piece, with a huge variation in prints. The brickheadz contain good SNOT parts/elements, and interesting building techniques but nothing has prompted me to buy one yet. Most of these characters you can choose between for this little poll, I have in the shape of a minifigure. I don't see why I would want a brickhead of these characters that will never match the appeal of a Lego minifigure to me.
If someone were to give me a Brickheadz set as a present I would appreciative it more because I like Lego, and building Lego sets, than because of it being a Brickheadz set. Maybe i am just a 'late adaptor', if I warm up at all for this theme?!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I don't like brickheads at all. I'd rather just buy a funko for a fraction of the price.

Gravatar
By in France,

Not convinced by the brickheads at all.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

When I am looking at the I am really liking Black Widow and I don't own her figure, I really want a Palpatine, Thanos and Sauron so that my figures have a statue of their glorious leaders. I am also considering making one of a female villian but I don't know any Lego female villian that interests me yet.

By in United States,

There will never be a LEGO theme that doesn't get ridiculous hate from some fans.

I get "it's not for me" or "I wish it was executed differently," but most comments are in the vein of "this theme is bad and you should feel bad."

Then again, I loved the UCS Hoth set, so no one is going to trust my opinion on anything.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Scarilian Some of your points are more valid than others, but the only one I take issue with is that the parts are too consistent. Personally, I think that's a feature, not a bug.

The standardization of the template makes it very easy for casual builders like myself to jump on and make my own. Though I did buy literally hundreds of the 4-stud SNOT pieces, the easiest way to make a new design is to buy an existing figure and keep the internal parts. Some of the external parts are highly reusable as well, like Jack Sparrow's hands, Belle's face, or the printed Batman parts.

The only thing that annoys me are that the printed eyes aren't available directly from Lego and are relatively expensive on the secondary market. That said, most other parts are common, so there's still a lot of flexibility.

By in United States,

I voted "I don't like Breackheadz", but even that wasn't entirely accurate. My vote would be better reflected by "I don't like 'these' Brickheadz". I recall reading the article/interview here on brickset with the LEGO Brickheadz creator, and the picture of the elephant Brickhead he made for a co-worker. That thing was awesome! It would be cool to see other licensed Brickheadz (Indiana Jones would be an instant buy for me), but I'd also love to see non-licensed, like "Classic spaceman", "classic castle knight", or "race car driver".

Gravatar
By in United States,

Final note: on the Funko Pop / collectibility comparison, I much prefer Lego. Even though the SDCC figures are exclusive and cost a fortune, BrickHeadz standardization means I can make passable substitutes for a nominal cost. Variants and customization are simple for the same reasons.

For a specific point of comparison, Funko has released several different Jean Grey Phoenix figures. The green, Dark (red), and white variants each sell for over $100 each. I can make BHz for a fraction of that -- and they're mine.

Fan creation has always been as important a part of fan communities as consumption, and with BrickHeadz Lego has given fans an easy way to participate in that culture. If it doesn't do that for you, don't buy them, but you should recognize the value they can have for others.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Joker, he has an amazing build and looks so cool. A close second for me is Black Widow, then Jack Sparrow and Beast.

Can't believe so many people don't like them!! Really surprises me. Hopefully we'll have a series 2 still..

Gravatar
By in United States,

My fav is Doctor Strange but didn't see it on the list.
BrickHeadz are good for desktop display models and kidz love that size for their handz to hold.
The better ones are the Kubros Terminator and Alien figures. I have both and are better builds and look great on display.
I think people will like upcoming BrickHeadz if they do Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, etc. Basically a Star Wars line with a little more complexity in the build to get more detail will better the line.
I suggest they do a Galactus BrickHeadz. Double the height and make a beautifully detailed helmet ala Kirby design.

By in United Kingdom,

The Joker is one of my favourites.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank you for supplying the last option.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the negative feelings towards BrickHeadz are understandable due to the generally low piece variety and over-simplified look of each character. I could see people saying that about other themes like the Juniors sets, which I personally like for the piece variety and simplicity compared to other themes, but many others may not for those exact same reasons.

It could also be a matter of taste regarding what Lego decided to do with its BrickHeadz IPs; for instance, Lego could have made minifigure-styled Beauty and the Beast sets instead of make the minidoll-themed Belle's Enchanted Castle and the Belle and Beast BrickHeadz (especially after they made an entire Disney CMF series): some like the minidolls more, and others like the minifigs more. Speaking of which, BrickHeadz is quite a mish-mash of IPs already and may seem a bit sloppy on Lego's behalf as a product line so far. That is one reason why I personally am not a fan of them.

I think it's pretty clear why BrickHeadz are so popular--same as why Funko Pop is popular. However, I don't believe people who like BrickHeadz should be overly bothered by different opinions, either. Lego can't please everyone with every product, hence why different themes exists.

@cinemajay

You either like Brickheadz in which case one of these on the list is your favourite, or you dont like Brickheadz and click the 'dont like' button. It's not trolling, though admittedly it may make you feel like what you enjoy is getting a lot of hate.

The votes from the sets selected will give a general idea of which the community feels is the best Brickheadz figure and the votes for the 'dont like' button will give a general sense of whether the line is doing well and/or might survive longer.

@yuffie
"The Series 17 minifigure vote didn't have a 'none of them' option"

It should have done honestly, it gives a better viewpoint of how the Brickset community actually view these sets. Though i get the feeling they put the option here because its a new theme and wanted to see if people were interested in it - plus there have been those mentioning issues with the Brickheadz for quite a while so there's that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bunch o' negative Nancys here :P

Gravatar
By in Australia,

As well as not liking the theme due to practically doing the same build for every set, the most annoying part for me has been the flooding of the reviews on nearly all the sites I look at, inc this one!
Can we PLEASE stop with the reviews/articles of these sets now!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Joker. Yeah sure he looks like a duck, but they captured more detail than I could imagine. When I first saw the image I honestly thought it would be $14.99 instead of $9.99, but even the former would be a good price.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I think the "don't like" option is funny. It is a light-hearted nod to the controversy...
My vote went to Jack Sparrow - I like all the details on that one.
Eager to see what they create for series 2! :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

- I don't think they look very good.
- I think it's a cynical cash-in to squeeze more money out of the licence.
- I don't believe they represent the 'spirit' of LEGO.
- I don't want one and they aren't worthy of my money.

I don't think my views are extreme.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

To be honest, my favorite part about them is the logo. I don't really have anything against the Brick Headz, they just don't interest me. Plus, with all the other sets that I do want, I'm happy to have a theme I can pass on completely.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The concept is really nice. I would have loved to see non-branded Brickheadz, though. There is so much room for fantastic ideas (like the elephant shown in the designer interview). If they had done their own thing, like with the Mixels, I would probably have liked them a lot more. Oh, and they could have been a bit less expensive for the piece count and actually available in stores.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

How can you decide I shall choose a favourite? Anyway, I live both Beauty and the Beast and Pirates of the Caribbean. But I don't have the Marvel BrickHeadz yet. Can't vote

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't belive how many people don't like brickheadz

my favorite is The Hulk or Joker

Gravatar
By in France,

I did buy Belle and it will be the only BrickHeadz I'll buy. While I do not mind the line that much, I dislike the fact that so many figures where released at once which reduced the "unique" factor. This also led to an overabundance of review of BrickHeadz which only added to my aversion for this line.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Considering the number of people who don't like these, the future doesn't look bright for this theme. Lego just need to add more variety to these. Star wars brick heads would probably sell well, and some of the MOCs are very impressive.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm a bit torn on how I feel about Brickheadz. Some of them are super cool and adorable, and others feel kinda bland and uninspired.

If this theme manages to make it to 2021 (I know, unlikely) I think they should do a wave for the 20th anniversary of BIONICLE. Based around the original 6 Toa Mata. While the reboot was an overall flop, sales of the first wave were pretty good, so just 1 wave wouldn't hurt to much, and '21 would be about the same amount away from Gen 2 as Gen 2 was from Gen 1. Since the primary focus of Brickheadz is, well, the heads, and a big part of BIONICLE was masks it would be a nice combo.

Based on these results however, I doubt we'll get a 2021 wave. Probably some 2018 and a slim chance of 19. Shame, these could've gone far!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I really don't like the Brickheadz, but I still voted for Black Widow, because of the lot I think she is the only one that is worth the price. But in all honesty I did not only buy her, but Jack Sparrow and Belle as parts packs too. Well, that and because together with a PaB order they got me a free Mini Beetle
;-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I would not spout hatred about much but I possess no like for this series. I would prefer a new button option to click:

'I would rather Lego produced an ongoing CMF range of characters and costume variants from the DC and Marvel universes and other licenses so I can build a personal collection.'

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! Most the people voted they don't like brickheadz that's surprising. I thought it would be completely opposite.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@yuffie - Not at all. Quite a few people have expressed dislike for the BrickHeadz so it is important to recognise that in the poll. It is still serving to identify which BrickHeadz sets are the most popular.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This seems to have caused quite a confusion. While the individual choice of dislike may have overwhelmed the other individual choices, the combined "Like" and "Dislike" opionions is 58 percent of people do like this, which is definitely the majority. Just wanted to make sure it's clear.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I voted on Black Widow because she has a more interesting build, but I like Jack Sparrow as a character better.
