40268 R3-M2 introduced a new style of Star Wars minifigure polybag which, in addition to the figure, contains a display stand with backdrop that has been designed to connect to others.

Now, a second one has surfaced on Delta Customs' Instagram page, 40176 Scarif Stormtrooper, so it looks likely that there'll be many more to come in future.

40268 R3-M2 is still available in Europe from shop.LEGO.com with any Star Wars purchase until the end of the month, so don't miss out on getting the first in the series:

By in United Kingdom,

If Lego thinks a small giveaway like this is enough to encourage me to buy even more battlepacks than I normally would.... then they're absolutely right! The more of these the better - especially if they can be used as troop builders.

Just realized this guy is exclusive - two blue arms as opposed to one in the Tie Striker set (and zero in the Battle on Scariff set). Plus he has a little skirt.

Straight onto the want list.
Now the log wait to find out how to get it

By in United Kingdom,

Its got a different base design as well, using what looks like a 1x3 brick with a technic pin built into it, rather than a 1x1 technic brick with hole and a black pin

I was hoping with would be a Droid collection.

By in Australia,

Just bought the R3-M2 on eBay, hope this one's a little easier to obtain!

@Jacob1998 - it looks like a grey pin in a 1x1 Technic brick as the slots on the end are at an angle.

Oh ok, i didn't know that they came in dark bluish grey

By in Canada,

I'm ok with these as long as they're new characters; although the first two aren't all that much different from existing minifigs. These are essentially similar in nature to the May the 4th figures we've gotten in the past.

Yeah it looks different because it is a Shoretrooper Squad Leader.

By in United States,

Anyone know when these are coming to the US?

By in Puerto Rico,

I really hope LEGO gets interesting with these. They need to make a Dr. Evazan figure pronto.

Lego still shows no love for US Star Wars fans. Another item for my Want List that I'll never have the chance to get :(

Nice! My R3-M2 should arrive tomorrow with battle on takodana (I'll post a review). This looks great, more detailed than either set version. Is that a fabric kamma I see?

Nice, hope this little guy makes it to the US, he looks like a higher officer than the captain that came in the Tie Strieker set.

I'm lucky and have a friend in Germany who can grab stuff like this for me. I hope the US market gets these soon, especially with them being unique minifigs so far.

This one looks to be a squad leader (rather than the captain in the Tie Striker set and standard troops in the Battle On Scarif set). The attention to detail is insane, he even has a little kama like the squad leaders in the film

By in Canada,

@legosolo77 , R3 M2 was a give away at Toys R Us Stores this past week in Canada. I would think this guy would be coming to North America as well.

And yet the R3-M2 is still not available in the US (besides the Lego Land promo)? Luckily I was able to get one in Canada at TRU last week. I really hope they keep this format of single minifigures-on-stands going.

^^ it is a little interesting that both of the first two Star Wars Minifigs with stands happen to be from Rogue One. Hands up if you want a Saw Gerrera to go with these? Or even a Galen Erso (imperial weapon facility garb). It will also be interesting to see how Rogue One factors into more regular sets next January after the Last Jedi wave - will we see a Hammerhead?

I can see an increase in these polybags. The stand that requires building maintains the 'construction toy' style whilst providing a minifigure - one way to get around the Hasbro Star Wars action figure licensing much like the larger buildable action figures ;-)

^ My friend in Germany! High Five man.

Glad to hear these made it to Canada at least.

Crossing the ocean is step 1.

Step 3. profit!
