The LEGO NINJAGO Movie BrickHeadz revealed!
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Toys R Us exclusive sets have been fairly lackluster in the past, but that bad luck streak ended yesterday with the reveal of exclusive LEGO Batman Movie minifigures for Bricktober. Now, the excitement continues as a new pair of BrickHeadz, for the first time as retailer exclusives, have been revealed!
Non-surprisingly based on The LEGO NINJAGO Movie, 41487 Lloyd and 41488 Master Wu will be available from October 1st for $9.99 each. The level of detail is exceptional and I remain hopeful that we will see Garmadon, Misako, and any of the other five ninja in this style eventually.
Catch more photos after the break. Thanks to Hoth Bricks for the news.

I find Brickheads beyond stupid, but these are kind of cute.
I love how they did Wu's beard, and Lloyd's eyes are awesome in that green color.
All I see is tan dishes for Wu's hat.
Well ... add these to my list of Ninjago Movie sets that I want :P
You and me both!
Is that a new piece in Master Wu's beard, or did I miss that at some point?
Recently introduced - it also appears in white in 70366 Battle Suit Lance, so not entirely new. Definitely rare, though!
They're pretty cool.
The level of detail aka printed 1x4 bricks? There's not as much effort put into these..
Hoping I can buy these and other stuff to get the batman bricktober freebie, that would be good.
^^ Printing can't be detailed? Anyway, the building techniques are pretty nice too - particularly on Wu.
I do wish he had eyebrows, though. Could have at least been a print, if not pieces...
what are the exclusives numbered 13-16 ? the first wave had 12 of these.
Are 13-16 not the sdcc ones?
They look cute.
^^ Right you are!
Need! Want!
Wait retailer exclusive, that's bs... I don't care about super heroes, give me these :(
@CM4Sci: And Wu's beard, and the colored plates that continue the patterns from the printed bricks, and Lloyd's mask and belt… all in all I don't see how they're any more print-heavy or any less detailed than, say, Captain America, let alone what kinds of detail they SHOULD have but don't.
Really Lego!? More exclusives.
I get that you want sell exclusives too, but this is getting ridiculous. Brickheadz is a very collectible oriented theme: cheap, a cohesive design, look cool tegether. But then you're making so many exclusive models. 12 retail models so far, 18 exclusives (assuming 13-16 will be revealed later on). C'mon Lego, this is getting really annoying for collectors :(
@The Brick Pal Regarding eyebrows, they should have just put two yellow jumpers above the eyes with white 1x2 tiles on top, then they could be angled.
Can someone please explain what technique is used to make the beard? Especially the 2 1x1 white cheese slopes on the side
I normally dislike Brickheadz, but these look kinda cool.
I really like the Lloyd one, it's rather cute. Wu looks terrible though.
Number 13-16 is the 2017 SDCC Brickheadz, managed to get my hands on them in July! But now again USA exclusives!? Are these Toys R Us USA exclusives or will we in Europe also have a chance?
Will these be available from LEGO online?
to Anders.Soderqvist @live.com:
But Toys Are Us have more than 60 locations in Germany.. i havent investigated further but they might have also some in France, Swiss.. Nordic even?
Well slap me with a kipper and call me Susan, I had no interest in Brickheadz before but I'm going to have to get these.
Wu's beard looks cool
SO AWESOME!!
To Brickset staff,
I have found a Ninjago Movie Display Case that is not yet logged into the database. It is officially called "LEGO Ninjago Movie Play and Display Case" and there is the number 4070 on the bottom left corner of the box. I don't know what the significance of this number is, but it is cool that it matches the part number for the 1x1 headlight brick. Also it appears to be made by Room Copenhagen. They appear to have made other gear such as lunchboxes and water bottles from the Ninjago Movie
Thanks,

The Lloyd Brickheadz is advertised on the back of the October 2017 calendar for the Lego Store and Shop @Home, so non-Toys R Us shoppers will have other options with VIP points available.
These look epic!
MKWW Found today at WalMart for the same price as most sets.
I like how Wu's conical hat is topped with the minifig sized concial hat piece.
Lloyd appears on the LEGO Store calendar for October, so it looks like these will be in the brand stores, too. And the exclusives are always also available on LEGO.com.
TLNM is over-merching. Just... Come on! TLG is just coming up with new sets just for the sake of making more merch! These are completely unnecessary, as are most of the Additional TLNM sets!
Wu is terrible!

The Lloyd Brickheadz is advertised on the back of the October 2017 calendar for the Lego Store and Shop @Home, ...
- could you please elaborate somewhat more on that that topic? Like it would be a free gift for order above XXX.. or you could change your VIP points against these?
@BrickHeed 02: What do you mean? Can't "making more sets just for the sake of making more merch" describe all LEGO themes? It's not as though The LEGO Ninjago Movie is being treated any differently than The LEGO Movie or The LEGO Batman Movie.
^ Plus, it's not like no one has asked for NINJAGO Movie BrickHeadz, so THESE specific sets aren't exactly unneeded. None of the TLNM stuff released so far is - different types of merchandise appeals to different people. It's good to have variety.
In fact, I wanted these to be made so badly that I made MOCs of these EXACT two characters in the style months ago. The LEGO Batman Movie got BrickHeadz and it was only fair that NINJAGO get them too.
They did come totally out of left field, but I am glad they exist!
2 TheBrickPal:
what I find unfair is this LEGO absurd approach to produce EVERY month, season.. some new "exclusive" set to some obscure chain.. yes.. I consider TRU an obscure chain.. they will sell you anything and everything - I believe they would sell you even some fabulously looking mock-up of a kidney, if that would be allowed (= hinting at some obsessive remarks if MF could be paid for by that)
nowadays LEGO is FOR SALE.. not for "sale".. but for the highest bidder.. if you have stacked up a few mils, you get your "own exlusive".. that is a FACT! And TRU is just a very clear picture of that.. is that correct or wrong? In my opinion its totally wrong since TLG is doing unbelievable profit.. and they should be not just glad for it - but plain and simply goddamned thankful for that! - given the state where they were around years 2006-2009 - going almost bancrupt.. ..
OK, I get BrickHeadz are not for everyone, but you have to admit the techniques here look really good. They achieved a fine balance, using prints only when absolutely required for the figure's size and complimenting them with plates, achieving a very attractive result. Unlike some of the Super Heroes BrickHeadz, which rely too much on prints, these seem like LEGO from a distance, a thing that, given the movie they are based on and the design standards set by said movie's theme, is undoubtedly intentional, a fact made clear by the studs on Lloyd's head, which I like even when they're totally inaccurate.
That said, it is a shame how LEGO currently treats this theme. It is visible this theme is marketed to a casual, collecting audience, but it's the collecting factor that they have mismanaged with the global numbering. I despise it when you are obliged to seek for a hard-to-find item, which might not even be good, only for completing a collection, so if LEGO wants people to be interested in buying all the BrickHeadz they release (and I hope the theme lasts, if only so we can get TLM BrickHeadz in two years), keeping a high standard like the one set by Black Widow's hair, or at least like these two guys over here, will sure be wise and rewarding for everyone.
Unfortunately, retailer exclusives are very much the norm for this type of product. Just ask anyone who collects POP Vinyl figures. Most waves of those have at least one figure that's exclusive to somewhere. At least with LEGO you can always find the retailer "exclusives" on LEGO.com.
Honestly, these BrickHeard are overrated, silly and unnecessary try from Lego to appeal to kids. What are their purpose again? Because there is no playability in them whatsoever. They are beyond stupid, paperweights. I was hoping we wouldn't get these terrible looking things for these Movie theme. But since Lego can't stop pushing their BrickDerps, it seems like they can't make a normal theme without including these.
Love them! The whole Brickheadz concept appeals to me - they make me smile.
And the underlying "skeleton" is so simple that using your creativity to create your own is so much fun. Inspired and inspirational concept, IMO.
I agree with the anti-Brickheadz camp in that these are just as unnecessary as all the others. That said, I do have some of them, but only because I got them as parts packs with a mighty discount. Never built any of them nor do I have the intention of doing so. I'd rather have the Mixels back!
:-)
