The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Happy Meals have landed
Posted by TheBrickPal,Like with The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie before it, The LEGO NINJAGO Movie has received its McDonald's toy promotion starting today (at least in the United States). Check it all out on the Happy Meal website, including the associated TV commercial.
There are six different ones, and can each be purchased separately from the food if you so desire... but who can say no to some Chicken McNuggets with your Dragon Periscope! ;-) Do you plan on acquiring any, or does no bricks = no buy?
I would be lying if I said I wasn't digging that lenticular cup...
The LEGO NINJAGO Movie kicks its way into theaters this Friday, September 22nd, in most territories, and October 13th in the UK.
The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.

I think they should just stick to the cups like with THE LEGO MOVIE , everyone can get their favorite character and they are in my opinion the only things that will be used afterwards.
I'll be honest, even if they had bricks I probably wouldn't be too compelled to collect them… the only McDonalds promotional sets that I'd really say I enjoyed enough to "collect them all" were the Bionicle Matoran, since they were discrete characters you couldn't get in other sets. Prior to that, McDonalds promotional sets were simplistic builds using parts you could generally find in other, more interesting sets.
Mind you, as a kid, I'm sure I'd try and hunt down at least a few of these, because the novelty of getting LEGO-branded toys at a fast food restaurant is pretty enticing from a KFOL's point of view, bricks or no bricks. I don't know if I'd bother to collect them all, though.
Ummm...Vader's castle as the main image? Wut? Also, so ready for that lenticular cup!
These are actually pretty neat, way better than the TLM and LBM toys. Personally, I especially like the notebook- Hopefully it's nicely-sized, because I wouldn't mind getting that for free with my food! I also kinda like the phone, but the notebook is my favorite.
Remember when you got actual Lego with your happy meal? Pepperidge farm remembers
No bricks means no Buy for me. But I have never been that fond of Mcdonalds version of food. :)
So first they get ranked best business responsibility, then they sell their product through micky d's... which is probably a lead based product. Nice ... they should at least make it a minifig in the happy meal, Id buy a dozen, but more crap... nope im good
@ELH2806 @kkoutris LOL
@FreewheelBricks Where are you seeing that?
@TheBrickPal seems to have changed now, may have just been an error on mine, but there was definitely a shot of Vader's Palace with Krennic's shuttle approaching earlier. (Btw not blaming anyone here, just a weird thing I saw)
I want the cup. My son and I only got one cup from each of The LEGO Movie and TLBM.
What's that thing on the right? A Pokédex?
I love the phone and the sculpts of the Dragon and camera are nice too.
@Freewheelbricks: I Think I may have seen Vader's Palace too... weird.
Cool! My kids are going to love a couple of those. We usually try to get a cup for everyone. Just wish they had a variety of cups.
I think it's funny when people talk about how eating McDonalds is so bad, but maybe something could be said about spending thousands of dollars on plastic toys being bad for society too. I wonder if there are other sites where people talk about the next LEGO release and how all that money people spend on their toys could have been used to provide good food to those in need. Just thinking out loud.
I had Vader's palace to start with as well.
Real coincidence - my daughter walked in with her McD Wildstyle lenticular cup earlier today. Didn't even know we had one.

I quite like the scroll/pencil case. Could be used to store or sorts of little objects including small LEGO parts.
Ah, I too miss the days of Bionicle Matoran Happy Meals with mini Slizer disc arms! Does anyone find the music in the background of the toy showcase videos a little heavy and overly dramatic? The selection of puzzle scrolls with a red deciphering lens looks the most interesting - kind of reminds me of the Lego colour scanners like Exploriens and the Alpha Team Arctic wave.
In the UK the film's coming out even later than I thought.
There were times when there were legit Lego bricks in Happy Meals.
@beskadberserker I remember those...
Y'all complain about not getting actual interlocking ABS in your potentially lethal fast food, but I'm pretty sure here in Venezuela we won't even get Ninjago stuff, and if we do, it may just be a green frisbee with a sticker on it that looks like Lloyd (below a large Happy Meal logo) to go with our expensive and depressingly small sandwich...
Luv Ninjago City Like if u agree
No Lego? Terrible promotion. Is it so difficult or expensive to produce polybags for McDonals?
I don't go to McDonald's a lot but I would like to get the cup I have most of TLBM ones and TLM so I might get that cup to go with my collection
Ugh. TOO MUCH MERCH!!
Definitely digging the cup. Kinda weird that it's only one. Although, considering I didn't manage to get all of them from either previous movies, it'll make this easier to collect. :P
I actually like the fact that the LEGO McDonald's toys are no longer made of bricks. If I want a LEGO set, I'll buy a LEGO set. It's cool to see something that's related to something I like, but in a different medium. I would be happy getting any of these, although I'm not sure what the red cylinder and the book do.
Unleash the Ninja in you...choose apples and milk!
Words I live by EVERYDAY.
The best of these meal toys were the ones Burger King did for Star Wars. Lots of fun pullback vehicles and cute little plushies.
Would've been nice if they had one brick built item.
Whoa whoa whoa... you fine folk still eat at McDonalds!? Blech.
For info We went to Mcdonalds yesterday and in the UK we are on Roald Dahl Books
^ yes seems right as we don't get the movie til mid-next month. Think the books are a constant thing though?
I would like a cup of Ninjago;-)
Cool, gotta get one of these. Than I will have one toy for each LEGO Movie!
