WAHOOO!!! THEY ARE COMING! MATA NUI IS COMING!!! WAHOOOO!!! *Lights fireworks* YAY! Finally! I think these sets are the last ones... nope, there's still Indiana Jones that's elusive! Wow, they DO look impressive! Especially Mata Nui! All that armour, that HUGE shield, and a GOLDEN Mask of Life!

This is what we have been waiting 9 YEARS for. I have been a bionicle fan since they come out but now I decided to get off of the bionicle train and now my decison is even more so right, Mata nui is a regular size set with nothing special. I thought we would be getting the huge set from the mini movie.

@GameOn99: Regular size?!? To me he's huge! He's special! Or maybe you thought we would be getting a huge-sized Mata Nui? Like... Makuta Icarax? Also, I've been waiting SO LONG for a Mata Nui set! Finally we have one!

Haha, definitely agree with Huw that these new sets don't look too special. I liked Winter 09, but these are meh.

Of course, you probably have to keep up with the story to really appreciate Bionicle.

That golden dude at the top of the page looks awesome, I will definitely be getting that one. @Alemas: We make a good team, I try to find things on Brickipedia all of the time! I have found a couple of things today, a lot of information about the squidman's pitstop has appeared today for instance (including minifigs etc.)

Is it true capnrex, is there really info on squidman's pitstop? Also, any word on max security trasnsport at all?

Has anyone noticed that these new Bionicles have a slight hint of *shudder* Galidor? Maybe it's just me, but they do look like something the Galidor theme may have...

Yeah, in 2001 and 2002 was bionicle one of the best themes, but its yust sad... (you can think what you wants)

They are available finally! But I still prefering way more the Glatorian than the Glatorian Legends. I don't see that much of special things in them, but nothing that makes them bad.

They are VERY different in comparison with every set from 2001 to 2006. Since the Inika, the bodies were being repeated, and then, the designers didn't innovated that much in colors (though few, like the Tahu's red, was brought back) to make a bigger variety of schemes. It is now that they are identical. But if we look not only to their building, we can see that each has their own characteristics.
@Alemas: Mata Nui's Ignika isn't golden, it might look "shiny" in some CGI pictures, but actually it is yellow, golden is too "expensive" to Lego use in sets like this (though that, the Pirates set Brickbeard's bounty has a lot of it).

I personally am getting off the BIONICLE buying train myself, too, GameOn99, as I don't exactly think Legos are the right thing to buy on a long-term viewpoint. Don't get me wrong, though, I think the new BIONICLEs are awesome, and I may ask for Mata Nui for a b-day or something.

Toys R Us, like always, are making the sets more expensive than normal. Mata Nui & Ackar are both $16.99 instead of $12.99. I don't see the point in paying more to buy them at Toys R Us. Also how do you think the look the same as 2001?! They have grow in size (and saddly price) and light brown became yellow.

I saw them on TRU the other day, I'm really excited!
I just want Mata Nui, although I can't believe TRU has him for $17!!!
I also want Gelu, and Vastus. I hate Vastus' mask though... *shudder*

I have also just got off the Bionicle buying just this summer. The Star Wars sets are just too expensive anymore that i dont have room for Bionicles. I might get Mata Nui for old times sake though. Does anyone find it interesting that Mata Nui is $16.00 instead of $13.00 at TRU? I hope he will still be $13.00 with Lego.

For you guys complaining about how small Mata Nui is: I don't know how true this is, but Isn't there supposed to be a Titan version of Mata Nui coming out? If so, it wasn't at any Toy Fair, but it could be a special edition set.

I for some weird strange reason gave up on Bionicle after I saw the earlier sets from this year. However, I was still thinking about getting a set from each further year to kepp a memory. NOW I know which sets I'm going to be picking from.

Mata Nui is a must have!! for any Bionicle fan!

I think that TLC has chosen well to make Mata Nui as a Canister set. I would way more prefer him bigger, but being a canister set (that includes repeated itens and colors), he can:
-Be easier to get, what means he can sell more.
-He will be the protagonist of the new Bionicle movie, BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn (I never saw any titan set as protagonist, except Takanuva).

But I think he wouldn't be so popular without:
-The Ignika (or a helmet version of it), because it was important in the story few years ago.
-The name Mata Nui. I never imagined him as a set (I thought he would be way bigger than any size a set can be). If he had another name, he wouldn't be so popular.

Well, it don't includes new pieces, but it still cool. As it wasn't shown in the Toy Fair, I think it is exclusive, so don't have many ways to me get this. The reference of this set is 8998, and the name of the set is Toa Mata Nui.
