By in Netherlands,

Am I right in assuming this is the rumored Wayne Manor D2C set?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that supposed to be the Eye of Sauron in the back, or was this an actual feature of the Manor in the movie?

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Lego, please stop making so many desirable expensive sets! I will have to buy this...
BTW does this hopefully enable prospects for a rollercoaster to go with the Mixer, Ferris Wheel & Carousel?

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a fun set!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

WOW

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks like a 'home run' as it's got some amazing playability features and cool choice of minifigures. Alas, it is WAY out of our budget so I'll live vicariously thru those who buy and build it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow. I want this. TLBM has had some really great sets. This looks to be one of them.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

Not sure if this set has a future at that price since TLBM sets sold poorly by many accounts. If they include an easy way to de-Jokerize it it might appeal to regular Batman/DC fans and not just TLBM fans.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"...including a rollercoaster encircling the whole building"

dear god this better be foreshadowing a proper Rollercoaster D2C or I will genuinely FLIP

Gravatar
By in Poland,

So no bat teddy bear?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

6 exclusive figures - not too shabby

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Why did I decide to collect all the Lego Batman Movie sets! That one spur of the moment decision is going to bankrupt me.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

^ I was thinking the same. I actually hope it will be easy to make it a ‘normal’ wayne manor. But I’m afraid it’s not.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Love the box of Wyldstyle's stuff in the attic.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Oh my gosh! I wasn't anticipating this at all but it looks amazing! The new roller coaster system looks great, if fairly specialized, and the fun house mirror element is another neat surprise. I look forward to seeing how those elements are used in the future. Lots of great callbacks not only to things from The LEGO Batman Movie but also to other stuff — like a crate labeled Wylde Style (sic) which calls back to The LEGO Movie and the Forever Sorting 2 DVD box which calls back to the Palace Cinema set. It's great to get both Robin in his "Nightwing" outfit and the Disco outfits from the end credits. Plus, there's loads of great brick sculpting, brick lettering, and wacky play features. For all the new elements and cool play features, the price seems fairly reasonable — lower than Assembly Square or Ninjago City, at a modest 7.2 cents per piece. Overall it's way more impressive than I would have expected a Wayne Manor set to be!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

5 big new molds for the rollercoaster track, if I'm not mistaken - so I'd imagine at least a D2C fairground set with them, and an updated Friends amusement park...

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

Wacky design, nice overall, must say, however reminds me too much of the Jokerland set we had earlier...

Can't help but think:
Did Lego misread thousands of FOL's desire about a classic Wayne Manor (Waynor lol) set for Joker's Wayne Manor on purpose?

It would be better if you could just remove the Joker's assets and convert the set into a classic one without adding any pieces.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh crap! Another super cool super huge and super expensive set right before Christmas!? Geez Lego, your killing my bank acct., and feeding the beast that is my growing Lego addiction. I need more plastic!

PS. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful Lego Roller Coaster thing! In small sets that can be bought cheaply and added together please..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah LEGO, keep making sets for the 1% and wonder why your sales are down.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I think my wallet is going to faint *_*

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Most impressive. Most impressive indeed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

*sigh* I've bought a good chunk of TLBM sets and the Ninjago movie is killing my wallet.... I don't need this right now. It looks so awesome, but my LEGO funds are blasted for the year.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

even MORE money I have to spend this year!
(but it is really cool!)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I really hope the rollercoaster elements find their way to a reasonable price class, somewhere around 60-110€. It's the stuff of dreams for children, so I hope it will become affordable for them/their parents.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Would prefer Wayne Manor over Joker Manor but this looks okay. Love the music video outfit Minifigs, although Alfred with his guitar and bat-teddy bear would be epic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Honestly, I would be a lot more inclined to buy it if it were an unblemished Wayne Manor, but I understand how this ties into thr movie quite well.
That said, the set is well designed and the vandalized box art is a nice touch.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

I don't think it's just this TLBM set coming out. There are more TLBM sets coming as well. Poor me wallet...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@cimddwc A new D2C fairground rollercoaster for sure, but I wouldn't count on them updating the Friends amusement park, at least for 2-3 years. It's usually a while before Lego revisits sets.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@Kostur: I think LEGO just opted for Joker Manor because besides the Batcave (which has already been released as a separate set), Wayne Manor is honestly kind of boring. It's just a big mansion, without any of the sort of action-packed fantasy elements that make superhero sets so appealing.

I'm sure that if the set doesn't already come with directions to convert it back into the regular Wayne Manor, AFOLs will have no trouble figuring that out on their own.

@David1985: Um, "sets for the 1%" are nothing new. It's not like the Taj Mahal and Death Star sets in 2008 or the Millennium Falcon set in 2007 were within the reach of most people. And LEGO is selling way more sets in general than they were back then — their revenue for the first half of this year is over four times what it was in the first half of 2008 and over five times what it was in the first half of 2007. So doesn't it follow that there should be more of a market for huge sets than there was back then? It'd be one thing if sets this size came out of nowhere in just the last couple years, but that's not even close to the truth. There's more than enough precedent to support a handful of big exclusives each year in addition to the many, MANY more affordable sets.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

It's not the instructions people will need, it's the extra parts required when all the Joker deco is removed from the facade. The fact that you find the regular manor"kind of boring" means absolutely nothing - you prefer colorful themes such as Elves, and Batman fans have been asking for a Wayne Manor D2C for years now. Besides, a "boring" Wayne manor would have other potential customers, such as modular buildings fans who could modify it to fit the modular standards.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

i wanted a normal manor,.... nice minifgures though!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks amazing, and part of me is already thinking about buying 2 and retrofitting them into one massive Wayne Manor. I won't, because I have no space and would like to remain married, but I'm thinking about it. Oh yes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was excited for this, but upon seeing it and thinking about it more, I don’t know how much I really like it or if I’ll end up buying after all. I was really hoping for something more akin to “stately Wayne Manor” in a modular style (like Ninjago City), and these Joker elements, while cool, seem like they could get boring after a while. I’d love an out of the box option to mod it between “regular” and “joker” manor.

Also, I may be being cheap here, but it sure would be nice if all of the minifigs were exclusive or new. Whoever buys this set likely already has those Joker, Harley, and Batman minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I feel like they held back just a little too much. great build but lighter on the minifigs I would expect. missed opportunity to include some out-there figures like daleks, gremlins, Mr Smiths, or other assorted baddies; just joker and Harley again

Gravatar
By in Norway,

it would be better if all the joker stuff was modular so you could remove it without a hassle if you just wanted the normal manor!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've blown my Lego budget for the next three years on the Millennium Falcon. Ouch. I wish they would just stop making big cool sets for about that time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is the lemon element new? Cool set

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Who can spot the two sausages as well? :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love LEGO but I believe we are getting saturated. EVERY month there is a new $200-$300 set. And they all look great, but it's becoming real difficult to be an "overall" LEGO fan. You have to be selective. You would need a whole living room just to display the bigger sets that came out this year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man I want this! I have to find a way to p ay for it. Kinda wish it would've been Wayne Manor, but this looks great!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

So nice and so excited! :) But sooo many stickers :( But hey, it’s a day-one-purchase nevertheless!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That is AMAZEBALLS!!!!
The Batman Movie sets and figures have been some of the best Lego has produced in recent years in my opinion.
I had a feeling they would bring out the white disco figures but thought they'd be polybags of some sort.
Can't wait to see the other new ones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The packaging design is actually my favorite part of this set.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This year must be the year with the most 2000+ piece sets released. It seems Lego has one announced on a bi-weekly basis!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thankfully, another expensive set I can pass on by a wide margin.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ResIpsaLoquitur - Yes, that is the Eye of Sauron and no, it didn't appear on a tower of Wayne Manor in the film.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh my god can they STOP making big expensive amazing sets that I want? I’m out of money!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I don't know about this as a set, but I love the idea of parts for a house or castle and parts for a roller coaster all in the one set...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amazing. The minifigures will go immediately, but I'll definitely take the set!

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

meh, who needs another 250+ EUR set? digging the lemon tile though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was thinking they might do another mini-fig series wearing the end credits disco suits. This is just as good. Wow!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I get why folks are saying they want the iconic Wayne Mansion without all of the Joker stuff . . . but having the mansion Jokerized makes it way more interesting to look at and provides a ton of play options (otherwise it would just be another big Lego house).

Now we just need to see the Bat-Shuttle . . . that's what I'm saving my money for!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This came out of nowhere! I'm genuinely glad to see a set announced that wasn't leaked or spoiled at least a month earlier. At the same time...my poor, poor wallet...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Love this.. I saw it on instagram earlier along with a blurry pic of the bat shuttle and harley quinns cannon attack..

Even better than joker land..

Why did I decide to collect all the Lego Batman Movie sets! That one spur of the moment decision is going to bankrupt me.

Lmao I agree, the one sets i choose to collect all of it.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I would rather have seen Wayne Manor without all the Joker stuff. Maybe make an add on to build it just as Wayne manor.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

So no one else thinks the front door assembly looks like anatomy?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@kingbrick Not in the slightest. I can assume what you're referencing, but I don't think it looks like that at all.

Speaking to the Eye of Sauron, it's kind of strange for it to be on this set. The Eye of Sauron was never actually on the building in the movie and wasn't decorated like it is in this set. So it seems like this is just a hybrid more or less. Kind of a weird inclusion if you ask me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This look amazing! I didn't know this was coming, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear about this set. Definite purchase (maybe 2) :-)

Gravatar
By in Austria,

...well now I need a job for sure, geez thanks a lot LEGO (I love it please keep it up)

Gravatar
By in United States,

wow. this set looks AMAZING! looks like another D2C set i have to get! the worse part about it for me is no Disco Alfred... like cmon! other than that, this set looks so cool!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm shocked at the amount of FOLs that are complaining about de-Jokerizing the set. It's Lego! Have fun with it, customize it, make it what you want.

And if you do decide to make it a tame manor, it will be very easy to sell those coaster pieces...

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Romantic DVD"...pretty sure that is a Blu-ray

Gravatar
By in United States,

Dammit Lego making all these awesome expensive sets

Gravatar
By in Germany,

This set just proves how expensive and boring the UCS MF really is. 10 points for Gryffindor... I mean the designer! ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really want this but expect it will have to wait for next year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is what I wanted Jokerland to be!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's too expensive, it's cool but too expensive.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

To bad LEGO will not produce a polybag version of this set. In the DC Comic and Marvel Comic line, I only collect the polybags, and even then, only if I can acquire them easily and inexpensively. That said, it would not be hard to create Wayne Manor into a 55 piece polybag set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the set, but I was hoping they would cut off the big sets for TLBM just so I can afford other things, like the UCS Falcon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

AHHHHH!! I think I need to take out a new mortgage. How many big, expensive sets can LEGO release in one year? I feel an ulcer coming on. Why do I feel like I need this? It's a plastic toy. Just because I started collecting the sets from the movie doesn't mean I need all of them..does it? It looks so cool, the kids will love playing with it, then it will start collecting dust like the thousands of dollars of other sets I have. Stupid. Right? I need to join an addiction recovery group. I think I need to start by selling my collection. Any takers?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone notice the box with Wylde Style in the top? haha nice tie in there Lego!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Aanchir

Yes there were big sets ten years ago, 2-3 a year. Now we have one for every theme. Hell the City sets gone up to $150 before having to drop back down to $120. It's not that there are expensive sets, it's just there are so many of them that's it's starting to get ridiculous.

$800 is more than I have ever paid for rent. Hell in part of 2015 my rent was cheaper than $280 a month.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Looks awesome. But I'm curious to know if, between this and the new UCS Falcon, there are plans to make sets in the $50-$100 range at all? Asking for a friend.

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

Its the same price as Ninjago City.. if you have that kind of money, where would you spare it? Have there been a poll, I guess its pretty obvious...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would have been interested in a nice Wayne Manor, but not this. Even if you could remove the Joker parts it looks like what’s left would be too small and too boring.

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

@admins: are the box physical dimensions known? It seems to be the exactly the same box as Assembly Square..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm glad the joker stuff is here - otherwise it would be a boring, drab set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wish LEGO would have made this more of a 2 in 1 Creator set - Wayne Manor that could be rebuilt as Joker Manor.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Cool looking said but I think I Will wait i'm saving my money for Harry Potter because I definitely want to have enough when that announcement comes out of nowhere for some amazing new Hogwarts castle re release and basically any other sets because I'm buying them all!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

My kids are fascinated with roller coasters (and me with the different versions of Batman) . So this is an interesting set.
But same price as Ninjago City, with 1367 less parts. I'm not sure the price difference can be entirely justified with licensing fees and rail parts production cost.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Must buy, just wish they had some sort of bat vehicle. So many wonderful toys still to bring into Lego Form!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Lego's certainly pushing it this year with all these big, expensive, desirable sets...
I'm not particularly interested in this one (luckily), but I certainly bought more 'big' sets this year than I usually would, and am still missing some I'd really like to have.
I guess time will tell whether they're pushing it too far. But generally, I think it's a rather interesting development (in a positive way).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, this came as a surprise to me! I generally have no interest in TLBM (just not my thing), but this set is pretty tempting looking... Loving the MOC-style wackiness LEGO has going on lately! Seems to me they really are pushing the creative boundaries of commercial sets, as well as the price/scale boundaries of what the market can take...

I do think it's kind of funny how some people on here are always getting angry that LEGO produces too many good, expensive sets that they like... as if they are somehow obligated to buy every single one, and if they can't it somehow makes LEGO a bad company lol.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Truly amazing! Hopefully not too many stickers!!!

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

and along with the set do you get the collectable minifigures Batman 2? or is it the collectable minifigure series 19?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is why Lego isnt doing good: too many expensive sets

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Finally Lego produce rollercoaster track!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

At least two required to try and make Wayne Manor.
I think I might give this a miss.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@Peter1999: Only… they are doing good? Not as good as they were the past couple years, but better than they were in 2014 or earlier.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is just absolutely BRILLIANT! Instantly becomes my favourite ever Batman-themed LEGO set and I simply HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I think I would absolutely love this set. Both to build and also to have up on display. I'd even let you play with it if need be as it looks like a fun one for that as well. I think it might go well with the fairground stuff just as madhouse or whatever they are called. Its been a while since Ive been to a fairground.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Matt89190: Your majesty! Forgive me for not realizing we had royalty in our midst!

Seriously, I've been building it on LDD based on these pictures, am up to 2,384 bricks, and am not even close to done. It's not at all hard to believe that the piece count they list is accurate.
