Please #BuildToGive
Posted by Huw,
Earlier today our favourite charity Fairy Bricks suffered a devastating blow when 2000 sets destined to be delivered to children in hospital and hospices were stolen from its van.
They were part of a joint campaign with LEGO called Build To Give which aims to deliver up to 20,000 sets to kids in hospitals before Christmas. There's a lot info about the campaign on LEGO's Facebook.page.
You can help get it back on track: all you have to do is build a Christmas decoration out of LEGO and post a photo of it on social media with the hashtag #BuildToGive. For every one that you post LEGO will donate another set.
So, tip out your bricks and get building!

On it! What social media platforms will work for this?
Wait. 2000 sets were stolen?! TWO THOUSAND?! The sheer logistics of the theft is nuts! I hope whoever is investigating this is on the ball.
Yes!! I'm going to try to build and post as much as possible!
I'm setting a goal of building 100 ornaments!
I’m not sure if I will build something - not that I won’t support, of course. I just want to ask: if I build a Christmas tree ornament does it need a cord/string to be accepted as an ornament? I know it’s a werid question but I will just be sure.
Another question, like chrismajor 2124 said which media is intended for this campaign?
And how long is this campaign available?
Sorry, too many questions
I read it as a 'Christmas Decoration' so I assume it doesn't have to be an ornament. I posted part of the Christmas part of our town with the hashtag. Figured that would work.
Even friends I have who are not into Lego have heard of this. Hopefully in the end they will have even more than 2000 sets to give to kids.
Just build anything that would pass as a decoration!

I assume somebody is checking all these sellers at the bottom of the page?
Time for a donation to FB.
Keep up the good work everyone at FB and Brickset.
YouTube will count, right
Is it plausible that the thief wanted the sets so they could build more Christmas ornaments for the campaign?
If I make a YouTube video with 10 ornaments in it and post the hashtag, would it count as one set being donated or 10. I already built a bunch of ornaments with the holidays in mind, and I'd definitely want to do everything I can to help get sets donated to the kids. If I have to, I'd upload 10 separate videos with the hashtag to donate 10 sets.
There are surprisingly few buildtogive on Instagram so far. :( get building!
Does it count posted on Flickr with the hashtag? I don't do instagram or twitter or facebook etc.
Check on YouTube for the Lego ok they might do a give away or something it’s just a I thought
Does Flickr work?
I posted on Flickr, I think it is correct
