2018 is the Year of the Dog
Posted by Huw,
Next year is the Chinese year of the dog, so, as has become customary recently, LEGO is releasing a set in celebration.
Instructions for 40235 Year of the Dog have just been published by LEGO so we now have this image of it.
LEGO has also published instructions and inventories for other 2018 sets which have revealed 43 new parts or recolours.

It’s so cute!!! I love dogs!!!
Definitely getting it,I was born in the year of the dog
That looks adorable!
Like all the other ones, it’s great, but why must it be exclusive to China?!
This set is adorable, but it's also a fine example of why I wish Lego would make the small ball joint pieces in more colors.
Cool dog, though I find that some Chinese New Year animals are more grand than others. Chicken vs Dragon?
As for the new parts, I think I just heard the collective squeal of monofig collectors around the globe.
That is hilarious.
In reply to TheBrickPal's comment, I don't believe these sets are exclusive to China at all.
The first one "Year of the Snake" was, but that was a repackaged Creator set I believe and it didn't fit the style of the newer sets. All the recent ones have been sold throughout Asia, as the Lunar New Year is celebrated a lot outside of China too.
Even in Australia, one of our largest local Department Stores named Myer gave the "Year of the Rooster" set away with Lego purchases over $50 I believe. If you're desperate to get your hands on them they are easy to get through Bricklink sellers, that's how I acquired all of them except the first Snake set which is the only one that does go for stupidly inflated prices.
With the designs TLG have been putting out for this line, I'm looking forward to the next Year of Dragon in 2024, fingers crossed TLG keep this line going for that long.
Hoping Leicester Square gets these in again this year!
@bigginsd, to be fair though, I have never seen these things anywhere in the United States. I COULD just get them online, but I can also imagine the prices being way more than what you’re paying for. Plus, there are so many other sets that ARE released here to worry about...
I like the new parts or recolours link - kind of shocked that there's never been a 3x3 corner 45 degree brick in white before!
Does anyone have the instructions for this? It looks like LEGO took them down.
