Christmas Build-Up: Day 11

Posted by ,

Yesterday was certainly a high point in the Christmas Build-Up, but can it continue? I have hopes that better not be shattered!

This log cabin is the perfect cozy little model for the holiday season. It features some hanging lights, smoke coming from a hidden chimney on top, and some transparent 1x2 windows. A tan front porch presents a decent contrast with the brown.

The base is covered in white snow, with a sole tree to the left. Some interesting plants brighten up the front! I don’t like how the gray brick used for the door is visible from the back, though.

Overall - 3.5 - pretty good, but not perfect!

By in Australia,

You can certainly see where they were going with the idea, which is a step improved from the zombie mutant pengowl, but it just looks a little strange, like, there's just something off about it. I don't know.

It's just the back door.

I'm surprised/disappointed that, even with relatively many parts, not one of the builds has been spot on! Maybe the builds are supposed to leave room for interpretation but for me, that makes the set less appealing (although, obvioulsy, one can build whatever he/she likes with the given parts). Even Lego themselves have proven that you don't nead a lot of parts to build something characteristic...

By in United States,

This is a great model. My favorite so far. I really like the architecture type builds and these were my favorite from last years build up calendar too.

By in United Kingdom,

Not the best model of this year, but a nice enough log cabin.
