All six 2018 seasonal sets revealed

Posted by ,

Among the images added to LEGO's server today is one of the back of 40270 Valentine's Bee's box which reveals five more BrickHeadz seasonal sets:

  • Easter - #30 Bunny
  • Halloween - #31 Witch
  • Thanksgiving - #32 Turkey
  • Christmas - #33 Mr. Claus, #34, Mrs Claus

Making the seasonal sets BrickHeadz is an interesting development and one that I welcome.

On the one hand it's good to see what's in store for the whole year now but on the other we've been deprived of the excitement of finding out what the next one is from the back of the instruction manuals as each one is released, as has been customary in past years.

You'll find a larger image after the break.

Cute! The turkey and Santa are my favorites, I think.

By in Germany,

Okay, seems like I can save a bit of money next year. The BrickHeadz just don't do it for me, but I am quite happy about every set I don't like and therefore don't feel too bad about not buying.

By in Germany,

Wow! Really surprising but very nice!

By in United States,

Ugh! Really don't like those creepy Brick Headz (POP! must be invested in them somehow). But they're holiday themed, so will buy them.

By in United States,

Not a fan of Brick Headz, but I like the Santa and Mrs Santa ones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only slightly less creepy than the previous brick built seasonal figures. I'll pass.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

They're cute, I'll buy these!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just liked that they called him Mr. Claus and not Santa

By in United States,

Umm...what do bees have to do with Valentine's day? Shouldn't it have been Cupid?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I guess they gotta do something different for seasonal sets but these will be a pass for me.

@quark20000

You clearly never got a “Bee My Valentine” card in elementary school!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seems like a logical step for Brickheadz. Applying them to seasonal sets is a smart move, I'd say. Definitely interested in Santa and Mrs. Claus.

By in Canada,

Oh yay... Brickheads.... so..... happy... PleaseMakeItStop

By in United Kingdom,

These might be the first seasonal sets i get

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Yeah, I can't say I'm a huge fan of the bricked-pop-vinyl line, but the vignettes this year were such great little scenes, and they can't do the same thing every year (so in 2018, are we due for a new line of police cars, or a new line of fire engines?), and it'll save me money. So I'm good.

By in Ireland,

Very disappointing.
At least now I know I don't have to bother with seasonal set all year.

By in United Kingdom,

@quark12000 - Pollination.
Makes perfect sense for a fertility festival

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like these. Hopefully enough to buy them. The witch is the worst one of the lot, but at the same time, she’s my friend. I really like the bee too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Eh, still think it should have been Cupid. I'll be definitely getting the Turkey and the Claus', and probably the Bunny. Not impressed with the Witch.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Brickheads aren't great, but these are cuter than the creepy sanra and elves that finished out the year in 2016....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Neat! I still love BrickHeadz and some of these are pretty cool

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awesome!
I’ll be getting them all!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Santa looks great.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Christmas ones are really good but that witch look quite odd - like she's wearing goggles. I feel the eye sockets should've been green too but maybe that colour's too rare.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some of them are cute but the only thing that got me to buy some of the previous brickheadz were the exclusive printed pieces and these don't even have those so I don't see myself buying these with the exception of maybe the bee for plant pieces.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Santa looks good... that's all though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

At the rate Lego is producing these days, I wouldn't be surprised to see traditional seasonal sets in addition to these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh my god yes to all of these!

Gravatar
By in United States,

They're better than the animals from a few years ago (to me), but still not my jam. At this point, I plan on passing on the lot. If I get one, it'd be the valentine set.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

*crunch crunch crunch* What's up, Doc?

I usually try to avoid the seasonal ones (mainly so I don't get frustrated when my collection is incomplete- they're harder to reliably get here in Australia...) but these are just so dang tempting!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

They all look supurb, but the turkey is definitely my favorite one from this lineup.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Lazy and boring.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Oh dear........

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

NOPE ! Not for me. Don't like these at all. None of the Brick Headz actually. Good that I can save Money and buy other Stuff

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Another sixty bucks saved next year.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Agree with everyone who is happy that 2018 is turning out to be a year where we can save quite a lot of money by not buying too much Lego. Ever more sets that I don't care the least bit about.
Never liked Brickheadz anyway, so easy pass.
The only reason I might get any of these is if they are discounted 50% or more, to use as parts packs.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I don't like Brickeadz, but this wave is awesome!

Gravatar
By in United States,

While I understand that some people do not like the brickheadz I think that we can all agree that it is better for the company to introduce them as the seasonal sets for the year that we would get buildable figures anyway. To me it just provides a better all around look and is much more polished than the buildable figures from 2014 and 2016.

I really like these and will get all of them.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think my favourite part of these is that they don't include any printed pieces. I always thought that it was a bit disappointing that all the official Brickheadz had prints, making any custom Brickheadz look weird for being purely brick built.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

£60 saved in 2018, well not saved exactly but I can put it towards proper Lego sets, maybe Lego are trying to get more people into buying Brickheads if they aren't doing as well as hoped, they seem to be a love em or hate em product.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The wife and I are MrB and MrsB and she has a lot of bee themed things as a result so I'll definitely be getting that one. I like the others too and will probably get the full set (although may skip the turkey). I was hoping to pass on the seasonals this year as they were going to be figures rather than vignettes, but these are just too cute.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

SOOO much more interesting than this years so-what seasonal sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ha, just noticed the little calendar print on the base. Nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

??
When they do vignettes like this past year, I buy almost all of them. The other years, I buy minimal. The Claus's will come here. That is about it. That bee is scary.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I don't get the bee significance. Must be a play on words that gets lost in translation. Then again, Valentine's day is not as big over here as in the US (and UK?) anyway.
As for scary looking? I think all of them are pretty freakish tbh. Even the Christmassy ones. They all look like friggin robots. They give me the creeps. How anyone can find them "cute" is beyond me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I always love the vignettes and dislike the brick-built seasonals anyway... but these are especially blech in my opinion. I'll just keep buying my seasonals in odd years :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I haven't been this dissapointed since I realized my in-grown toenails were caused by my own poor nail cutting. Meh.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

They look cool but so not for me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

These are adorable, and it's great to see the BrickHeadz expand beyond pop culture IPs. The creativity of these is reminiscent of Austin Carlson's original Block Heads, like his elephant (https://flic.kr/p/rikm29). It's also neat that judging from the bee, each will come with a bit of scenery instead of just a generic stand.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Easy pass, I hardly buy 'little' sets anymore anyway. Too many big sets to drool over. I can see these being popular though. They look decent. But Mrs Clause needs a mouth...

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I definitely prefer the vignette-type seasonal sets, but I do like the look of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, I'd probably get those. A full year from now, sheesh!

You could probably easily refit them to be hung in a Christmas tree as ornaments too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was thinking Valentine's day would be a lovebird or dove. The bee works, I guess.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Can't wait to give these a miss!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not a big fan of the Brickheads in general

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've never been a big fan of Brickheads, but these are adorable!
I've noticed the few Brickheads we've gotten based on original characters (Wu and Lloyd) turned out a lot better than those based on licences.
