Star Wars Advent Calendar: Day 14
Posted by CapnRex101,The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar arrived on Starkiller Base yesterday and encountered a First Order Snowspeeder. I am therefore expecting to find another character or vehicle from the latter part of Star Wars: The Force Awakens today.
First Order Snowtroopers patrol the plains of Starkiller Base and have previously appeared in just two sets, both based upon the Snowspeeder we saw yesterday. I am therefore glad to add another trooper to my First Order army, although he lacks a backpack and kama which is unfortunate. It is also a little concerning that no blaster is included, suggesting that another dull weapon rack might appear at some point during the next few days.
Nevertheless, the Snowtrooper looks marvellous, featuring printed designs on the torso and legs as well as a detailed helmet sculpt. I like the metallic silver breather tank inlets and the narrow visor is suitably intimidating. Removing the helmet reveals a standard Clone Trooper head, complete with an angry expression and black eyebrows.
Overall - 3.5 - I love the design of the First Order Snowtroopers and this is an excellent minifigure but the absence of several accessories is disappointing.

Thanks for the reply a couple of days ago Captain. Good job on all your reviews and keep up the good work!
This is my first Snowtrooper from VII. The lack of the backpack is disappointing, but he's an ok mini-fig to me.
No accessories & the clone face makes it a slight disappointment, despite it being a useful minifig otherwise
I particularly avoided looking at the contents of this set when posted months ago. But now have to assume another weapons rack is on the way. Unless of course, he is supposed to be armed with the wrench? Don't think so...
It is a good minifigure, though.
Today I opened up the tab, and said to my wife, "Uh oh, it's a First Order Snowtrooper, but he doesn't have a weapon. You know what THAT means."
She said, "Yeah, he must freeze people with mind powers!"
I fell in love all over again. =D
I believe in one of the trailers for the Last Jedi I saw Troopers just like this one on Crait.
Very disappointing to see him lacking his backpack or 'skirt'. Luckily I'll be able to make a backpack with spares from the FO Snowspeeder, but the skirt is another story!
No Kama cloth no backpack no blaster .... no reason to purchase the advent calendar
My first FO Snowtrooper. I love the minifig ... but I'm very concerned it didn't have at least a blaster. Not even a 1x1 round plate for a snowball. Sigh.
If you have a previous version you should have some extra backpack pieces. Not sure how much the kama is on the secondary market, but I do believe they have released it without the kama in the microfighter set, so this isn't new.
Same complaints as day 7: No gun, and that damn Angry Clone face. AND not even a backpack. Pretty disappointing.
Watered down minifigure. I checked what tomorrow is and it is no weapons rack.
Didn't yesterday's thingy have a spare gun whatsit?
(Sorry I don't know the proper names - not a 100% Star Wars geek! I have to look up on here to see what the things are most days!)
my local retro toystore had someone trade it (this years calendar items he opened last month) in, and, i wont spoil it, but he put this trooper with something else, that wasnt a weapons rack, but looked cool IMO. Of course, it could have been a mistake and possibly an item from another calendar. If it isnt, i think itll make my XMas scene somewhere i hope
My first TFA snowtrooper: I plan on using the helmet piece for a HL2 Combine MOC.
I’ve got this morning the same Minifig of day 10, Unkar's Thug, instead this snowtrooper. I hope LEGO send to me the right one when I complain :(
I'm OK with the snowtrooper (and they appear in TLJ briefly, albeit not in snow) but it's a shame he's so basically equipped.
Whilst the picture on the door was of a Snowtrooper, I actually received a regular Stormtrooper as per one of the previous days. Did anyone else get the same?
Didn't realise, that Snowtrooper was only found in the useless snowspeeder set from 2015. Oh wait, was also in the micro fighter version as well. Suppose, it's great to have another for those building an army.
