City Advent Calendar: Day 23

Posted by ,

The concluding gifts of the LEGO City Advent Calendar can usually be predicted fairly easily, consisting of a certain festive character on the final day and a small vehicle for him the day before. Let's find out whether that trend continues in the 2017 calendar...

This simple sled features a red, white and pearl gold colour scheme befitting its jolly occupant. The model looks appropriately festive but its shape is rather awkward in my opinion, not least because of the light bluish grey clip on the front. There is room to seat a minifigure in the centre of the sled and a white 2x2 jumper plate lies ready for an accessory, although anything too large might obscure the view of the driver.

I mentioned that yesterday's snowmobile did not include any obvious hitch for a trailer. However, the clip on today's model is designed to fit onto the back of the snowmobile, as shown below. The two vehicles do not line up perfectly as the snowmobile attachment point is a plate higher than that found on the sled, suggesting that it is being towed. Perhaps the minifigure to whom this sled belongs has encountered some transport problems!

Overall - 3.5 - I like the colours of this sled and the idea that the residents of LEGO City might be coming to the rescue of Christmas is a lot of fun. However, the level of detail could be improved upon quite considerably.

Looks like an okay build, I cannot wait for tomorrow!

By in Netherlands,

The combination of red, white, light bluish grey and gold is just way off. With a better color scheme this could have been a 4.5.
Good review!
