Star Wars Advent Calendar: Day 23
Posted by CapnRex101,The final door of the 2017 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar will probably open to reveal a seasonal minifigure and the penultimate day frequently offers a matching vehicle. I wonder whether that tradition will carry on this year...
Rocket propelled sleds have appeared in a couple of past Advent Calendars. Most such models include a combination of reddish brown and grey elements but this version looks a little more colourful, using pearl silver cones for the thrusters and carrying a few presents. I appreciate the splash of colour offered by these accessories but the stacked 1x1 and 1x2 bricks look rather plain. A selection of brick-built gifts would have been far superior.
A couple of light bluish grey inverted 2x2 bows are used towards the front of the model, giving it a rather sleek appearance. These pieces have been available since 2015 but still feel quite new to me and they are undoubtedly very useful for your own creations. The reddish brown 2x3 plate at the centre of the sled ensures that it still feels somewhat traditional, as though the vehicle is made from wood, despite the presence of twin thrusters!
Overall - 3.0 - I think there is potential to imagine how residents of the Star Wars galaxy might celebrate Christmas which has yet to be exploited. Nevertheless, this is a fun model and it includes a couple of useful elements.

2.0 for me here. My friend said it was hard to see what it was supposed to look like, and i totally agree with him. I generally think the star wars slays are quite bad. Sorry, fans.
I can see it's relation to Christmas, but if it didn't came in a Star Wars Advent Calendar I wouldn't have guessed it has something to do with Star Wars, so it's a 2,5 for me.
CapnRex101, quick question, why do you call it 'light bluish grey', isn't it 'medium stone grey'?
Pretty meh. Pearl silver cones are pretty much the best thing about it.
Not too bad but certainly not 'Star Warsy'
@CreativeTim The new grey has a slightly bluish tint, hence why a lot of people call it 'light bluish grey' or 'dark bluish grey'.
@CreativeTim The official name is medium stone grey indeed, but AFOL's call it light bluish grey more often, that is the common name, used by bricklink and many other fan sites.
Despite my initial intention to not pick up this calendar (for the first time since star wars advent calendars started), there have been some great builds, some nice army builders and a couple of nice unique figures. What a shame it's going to end on a massive low point tomorrow. A festive Kylo or Rey would have been the perfect finish.
Score of 2 for me also. I like the color but the best thing about it is the pearl silver cone.
I combined this with R2-D2 and C-3P0's sleigh from two years ago. It makes a great add-on!
Last year's calendar was so much better than this year's.
The 5th Star Wars sled now for me, but probably tied for my least favorite.
Still, a fun day. I dug out the other 4 sleds and festive minis from the past calendars and look forward to adding another holiday mini to the bunch tomorrow.
Looks like a mandalorian jet pack in sled form
Well 22 pretty great days with only the odd hiccup or two.
This stinks. And not even any bows to finish off the otherwise weak design only makes it suck more.
Still better than the friends calendar. Boring, but some nice parts.
The pearl silver cones, trans light blue round 1x1 plates, inverted bows and the single azure 1x2 brick redeem this model to a degree - it would still have been better to see a sled closer to previous designs though.
Least favorite build of the Calendar.
Yeah partspack!
