30542 Cute Pug is one of five polybags currently available in Tesco stores in the UK.

This is not so much a review, more an excuse to post some pictures of a cute doggy...

The set contains 68 pieces which build the pug and a fire hydrant. Its head can be rotated to enhance the cuteness of its pose.

Overall it's a nicely designed model, except for its tail which is offset to the right. There isn't any solution to this problem so we'll have to live with it.

Its hind legs are articulated too allowing it to stand up and beg. The new 1x1 rounded plate with 318 bar has been put to good use for its paws.

Why is there a fire hydrant? For the naughty mutt to relieve himself against, of course!

As with all recent Creator models, this is a 3-in-1 set, so instructions are available for making two other creatures, a turkey and a koala. You'll need to download them from here, though. The Koala looks cool, the turkey less so!

Overall, it's a neat set that's well worth the £4 asking price. If you've not yet been down to your local branch to snap one up then do so soon because it's a cute set...

By in Denmark,

Fine little set. Got one for a friend who has a pug.
I am no expert on pugs, but I think that their tails normally curl to one side or another. So maybe the offset tail is intentional.

Just needs a couple of trans yellow round plates :-)

The tongue is a stroke of genius.

That is really the wrong colour for a koala.

No sign of it, or any other of the polys, in Tesco Twickenham or Sunbury today :(

I love this! I hope we'll be able to find it here in the U.S.

The tongue looks like the pug has a party horn, the kind that uncurl and curl when blown and realized.

The turkey—minus the wattle—reminds me of one of the Goodfeather pigeons from the Animaniacs cartoon series.

Is this the same set as the one celebrating the Year of the Dog?

Got mine in a Denver Colorado Target.

Everyone in the USA, they are $4 at Target. Overpriced by about $.50-$1 but it's in the Valentine's Day section.

By in United States,

I picked this one up last week. My grandson immediately decided it is Rolly from the Puppy Dog Pals cartoons, and I must make a grey one to be his brother Bingo.

Man, I hate pugs. They remind me of the Houndeyes in Half-Life, the three-legged dog-like alien creatures whose face is nothing but eyes and who emit destructive sound bursts.
I had no idea what the third build was, it was not obvious at all. A koala you say? I guess.
And yes, Target stores in the US have these. Sometimes...

By in Norway,

Very cute! I was lucky enough to get my hands on two copies. -One to build and one to keep sealed in the collection.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I picked mine up at Wal-Mart, so they're available there too.

By in Sweden,

What's with the instructions cover pages? They look dreadful. Some guy has been playing around in Windows Paint?

By in Canada,

Recieved this for free from Toys r Us for spending over $30! Wouldn't buy it at regular price though.

By in Italy,

Where can I find this cute puppy in Italy?

This set will go down as a classic for me, $0.39 on clearance today at Target (near Denver, CO -- seems to be theme). What a deal!
