800-piece Porg set to be released

Posted by ,

The websites of small European LEGO stores continue to be a good source of information about unreleased products, where they are often listed before they should be.

Today, Brickshop.nl has confirmed the existence of a Porg set. 75230 Porg will retail for 80€ and contain 811 pieces, so will be somewhat larger than the version in the image, and likely to be on a par size-wise with last year's 75187 BB-8.

WTH I hope this is a late April fools day joke

The set no one is asking for. What Disney wants, Disney gets. "Pay me!"

By in United States,

Porgs: Ugh!
Happy shelf-life to you all.

By in France,

Looking forward to a great parts pack...

By in United Kingdom,

Saw the pic ages ago. The jury is still out on it... I'm back and forth between cute and nightmare-inducing horror.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just give me my UCS Cloud City!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Porgs were supposedly introduced so they could digitally cover up puffins in the background.

Methinks this background "character" won't sell well at all. However, it will be good for parts on clearance. Seriously, I hope this is a joke.

By in United States,

Hope it comes with a sound brick so you can annoy the heck out of people XD

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I think a 800 pieces set will definitely look bigger than that picture but it is nice to know, better not tell my mother.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now they just need a brick built Ewok to go with it

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Um ... why?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The image for this was leaked weeks/months ago.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As much as I liked the porgs... which it seems I'm in the minority here... I really don't want a large lego version of one.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

everyday we stray further from god's light

Gravatar
By in United States,

I liked the porgs! I hope they're still on the falcon in Episode 9.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why...........???

Gravatar
By in France,

Noooooooooooooooooo (not Luke this time)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like it. Not sure I'll be buying it though.

I do think a UCS porg is a fantastic bit of dry humour though :p It's very Lego. Lighten up, you miserable lot!

Gravatar
By in United States,

There's leaked pictures if you Google it, and it looks AMAZING! I personally wouldn't buy it, but it's incredibly close to the source material. It's a great display piece.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My 3 and 7 year olds love the porgs so I will probably end up getting this when it goes on clearance sale.

Gravatar
By in United States,

... scratches head, checks date... No sir, I just don't get it.

Actually I'm saving my pennies for a 10k piece Jar Jar head bust sculpture set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I thought this was a joke originally - until seeing the leaked pic some weeks ago. It actually looks pretty good and a million times better than I was expecting.

The thing with porgs is that if you don't like them, you can easily ignore them. They're totally inconsequential to any of the story, as is the humour associated with them. Unlike where Poe is making "your mum" jokes to distract Hux which leads to the destruction of that big star destroyer thing.

By in United States,

Yay and why at the same time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

neat idea, but no plans to purchase one. now how about some last season of Rebels sets?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm guessing it will be something similar to 7194 Yoda and the aforementioned 75187 BB-8.

I'm more fan of minifig-scale sets, so this one is not for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey hey now. This could be a great parts pack, based on the colors.

But I expect to pick it up on discount. Porgs aren’t as cute as BB-8.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Someones telling porgy's lol..
I hope??
Fetch me Cloud city and A Cantina band brickhead set..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, a lot of skeptics here. I expect this to sell pretty well, if the popularity of last year's BB-8 set is any indication.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Cantina Band Brickheadz? That might get me into Brickheadz! Or cantina patrons, the classic four, i.e. the Kenner action figures: Greedo, Hammerhead, Snaggletooth, and Walrus Man!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Porg leaked images are one of the reason for The Brick Shows demise!!!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

What about a UCS Ewok?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, this is what everyone was afraid of back in 2012. I can't say I'm surprised.

Gravatar
By in United States,

560heliport - He will always be Walrus Man to me as well. None of this Ponda Baba BS!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

To the people saying no one asked for this...
I asked for this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This makes sense, given how much Porg merch has been selling...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Watch as this 800 piece porg set is actually 114 mini figure scale porgs. XD

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just googled it. They did a great job with how it should look. I don’t want to spend that much on it, but I may pick it up at a cheaper price. But I wouldn’t need to wait until clearance. It is terrifyingly cute. I’m scared of how cute it is. Is that a thing?

Gravatar
By in United States,

For a 811 piece porg set, I was really hoping for 135 little, tiny porgs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ and ^^^ I'd still buy it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a bunch of whiners...obviously enough people like Porgs, otherwise LEGO wouldn’t waste their time on it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Um....that just happened.

Gravatar
By in United States,

With all due respect, if Luke can't milk it I'll have none of it, sir.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@nymnyr8694: What's Disney got to do with anything? Lucasfilm came up with the porgs. What sort of proof is there that Lego takes orders (not just suggestions, actual mandated *orders*) from anyone on what they decide to produce for licensed sets?

Gravatar
By in United States,

As it was foretold in the prophecy.
What about Bess though?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The model looks really on point and good. I might get this

Gravatar
By in United States,

wow Lego is really losing me with their recent loser products stop with the marvel tie ins and really, all the movie related themes. just yuck

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have a bad feeling feeling about this...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Awesome!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The most disappointing thing about this set is not that it's a Porg...

It's that this set of a Porg will have a better price per parts ratio than Snoke's Throne Room.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

811 pieces? I only see 6.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I knew about this for a while.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Are we being punked?

Gravatar
By in France,

My daughter - and I - we like Porgs. They are cute. But this won't justify the purchase of an "UCS" model of it. I'd prefer en Ewok.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Interesting to see so many people whine about this, which might even be a hit for kids, and at the same time almost everyone was so enthusiastic about the friggin quadjumper from TFA....looking at the leaked pics this might actually be a decent set.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

That was unexpected!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Why?

For the Glory of Satan, of course!

Too bad it's not slightly larger, that would've made it possible to showe some Mindstorms bits inside and make it a porgby.

And while all of these seems to have the "thousand-yard stare", this particular one still seems to have seen Some Serious Shit. Maybe Chewie got hungry, decided to forsake his implied vegan wows, and then started gulping the things down raw?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not a popular choice then. Quite like it myself, but anyone who know's Lego can hardly fake surprise at this. Bet it flies of the shelves ....

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Yeah, that's how it all starts. First there's oooing and aahing and then there's uh running and uh screaming..."

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I think Porgs are great - so happy ! On the other hand, I am not interested in cloud city at all. But I do want really want a UC ISD.
