City Advent Calendar: Day 19
Posted by CapnRex101,
Yesterday's miniature version of 60180 Monster Truck was fantastic and I would love to see a few more minifigure-scale toys during the final week of this LEGO City Advent Calendar.
Take a look behind door number nineteen after the break...
Remote control cars have appeared in numerous LEGO City Advent Calendars and these vehicles are excellent. Their streamlined shape looks brilliant and the large wheels are formed using 1x2 plates with Technic pin holes underneath which is ingenious. I like the contrasting red and blue colour schemes and both models include aerials as well as remote controls in each colour with printed speedometer tiles.
I believe these toys are both intended to represent cars but they also remind me of the Light Cycles from TRON, perhaps because of their narrow shape and bright bodywork. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the instructions for the cars are not entirely clear as the blue vehicle is shown in two halves, without an arrow to demonstrate that they should be connected.
Overall - 4.5 - I like this design for remote control cars as the toys look very streamlined and their colours are visually striking.

These were great! I prefer yesterdays vehicle but this one's great too!
Aw!! They're so cute! Very well designed.
Wow. I looked at these and said to myself, “thats actually pretty cool and a really good idea!”
Eleven spare parts?! It’s awesome it included two extra antennae, but also wished there were two extra speedometer plates and not just one.
So many spares! I had to double check and make sure I built it right.
For some reason, I was so confused looking at the instructions for this, wondering why the blue car was separate but the red one was together...then I realised.
I used the extra two antennas for the remotes.
Bah, Humbug!!
