I might have gotten it if the designer would sign it, too bad I'm nowhere close to the locations the designers are signing at
A pass for me, my wallet’s suffered enough this month
This set never looked appealing to me in the slightest since it was revealed. A fairly unattractive colour scheme, unremarkable location, and blatant Americentrism with the statue... and all that at a stupidly high price.
^Never saw Planet of the Apes?
It's the iconic ending scene of a post apocalyptic movie, plus the inhabitants of Apocalypseburg are Mad Max Road Warriors...Australia's Post Apocalyptic Magnum Opus.
I‘m logged in as a VIP, yet I still can‘t order the set... Anyone else having trouble?
Not available here yet. And basket unaccessible at the moment, as soon as logged on VIP account. One more issue with LEGO.com. Hope this will be solved quickly now...
I like this set but price is too high for me, so I will wait for end of this year and some price reduction.
Looks like they are slow at pressing the button this morning. I can't order it either yet.
Available now but I get an error message when I try to buy it. Stupid site.
Seems to work now, at least it did for me :)
Doesn't work here. Loads of problems with LEGO.com actually at the moment.
Funniest of all, when I try to log in as VIP now I have to "get my parents ok" to use the site, as apparantly I have fallen into a fountain of youth and to TLG am under 16 again.
As if.
I think I can live without trading cards - I’ll wait for a discount, tiple points or a buildable GWP - nice to see them trying something new though.
^just my thought too :) I was going to order at midnight but since they was so incredible slow making it available I’ll wait for a better deal.
@navamac, you clearly are missing the whole idea of the set. But if you are in Australia I suppose you wouldn’t “get it”.
Not my thing exactly, but I am loving the creativity and wackiness of this set. Lego has gone all MOOC-style with the Lego movie sets, which is pretty cool.
If I were to buy this pricy of a set, I would go for something with a better price per piece count, like one of the modulars.
I called and lego said it was set to go live at 900am est.
While I wasn't able to add the Apocalypseburg directly to my shopping cart on shop.lego.com, I first put it in my wish list, and from there I was able to add it to my shopping cart.
Per what Lego support just told me:
However our warehouse does have some technical issues and we hope it will be online any time now. Please don't forget to refresh the website.
Apparently (as I'm sure we all guessed) there are behind the scenes issues...
Edit: Based on what ArtfulDodger said above I gave that a go, and sure enough it works that way, which is nice since it still won't allow it to be ordered directly from the item page
Ooh big llama is buyible
Just wanted to back up what ArtfulDodger said, putting in my cart from my Wish List worked for me. Thanks!
Mine was already shipped!
With how much perfected effort goes into making the actual LEGO product you would think TLG would spend the same amount of effort into their online and logistical support. I understand every large company has issues but LEGO specifically has fairly regular flops and disappointments.
That being said, I like the uniqueness of the set but it's not high on the wish list.
Easy pass. Unattractive and overpriced.
2019 NOT The year LEGO get's their website in order.
Great set, but too expensive. Need to wait for some discount.
@monkyby87: You're being very kind by saying the reason navamac doesn't get it is because he or she is Australian. ;)
Why are there no links for New Zealand
Because LEGO doesn't operate an affiliate scheme in NZ so there's no incentive for us to add links for NZ, or the other 20+ countries that shop.LEGO.com sells to.
I'm sorry, but I just fnavamac's comment so darn negative. LEGO is not an American company, so let them have some fun with (for them) a different nation and an iconic film. I don't freak out with those cool Chinese sets with 'ooo, so Sino-Centric' comments. I just hate the American bashing, and no, I'm not American.
