By in United States,

Other than the '89 Batmobile and maybe the Batcave, these are bad. Especially that Batwing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I actually really like most of these, the Batcave and the Joker pursuit especially (though is the Joker just gonna run? He doesn't seem to have any vehicle to make it a real pursuit...). Not sure about those new bullet/bolt weird pieces. Why did we need those??

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Batman is the Police/Fire of licensed themes.

Gravatar
By in France,

Not a super heroes collectioner, but this rendition of T. Burton's Batmobile will be mine for sure. Even if I think the designers could have captured the round shapes even better, as seen on certain MOC'S. But that will just deserve a few modifications! I love it, and it comes in an affordable set at last, all is perfect this time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those Shazam and Batwoman minifigures look fantastic, and I'm loving that Batmobile!

Oh Clayface... what did they do to you. The TLBM one was so much better.

Is there a "giant" penny and T-rex in that Batcave? Nice!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the new bat-warhead bricks, but for me the only must-buy is that sweet Junior Arkham...
...at discount.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Probably the Coolest Mr. Freeze minifigure to date in that one set! Nice to finally see an affordable Arkham Asylum set and a Shazam minifigure as well! If you look at the Bat Cave you can see a dino and a penny in the small room on the left which is a nod to the treasure room from the comics, I really love that Batmobile set too so I'd easily call these my favorite LEGO Batman sets since 2008!

Gravatar
By in United States,

1) TLG continues its evil genius ways... only way to get the new Harley hairpiece is in the otherwise uninspiring Juniors set. 2) Is that a new part for Mr. Freeze's helmet? Looks like a separate part from his head. 3) 76120 Batwing and The Riddler Heist stands out to me among these.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ehhhhh, is 76119 SUPPOSED to be the '89 Batmobile? I'm not so sure. Many parts of it look like it is, but some parts do not. Not to mention a grey suited Batman and I don't think this is supposed to be an accurate representation.

In any case, I'm not very impressed with these sets. The Batcave, I'm not sure what is going on, it looks like a mess. The Batwing is blockey and the "Batcycle" looks like a Frankenstein Tumbler wannabe....

Usually I'm not so critical, but I think a vast majority of this stuff is not up to the standard I've come to expect from Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are really weird to me, be 'blocky'. Yes I know I know, but these look like models from the first Batman wave before Super Heroes were a thing and even then. Almost like the first years of Star Wars.

But 340 pieces for $30 is a good deal for a Batmobile.

Mr. Freeze is awesome, but the set is terrible.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not the best batman sets I've ever seen, and if the batmobile is in pursuit of the joker wheres the jokers vehicle?
And also the bat wing is terrible, 7/10 overall lego..

We need a few more 1966 batman sets i think.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Loving 76119 Batmobile, but I'll skip the rest

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are pretty good sets, but I wish that sometime we'd get a Batmobile that's comparable in size to Speed Champions cars, instead of a land yacht that's too big to steer. It's nice to see the helicopter build from the Classic Batcave appearing in a midsize set, even if I prefer the original red to that green. The police car is pretty cool too, but the Batwing is a bit chunky. The Batcycle set is a pretty fun little take on the Tumbler, even if that's not what's explicitly intended ....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Happy birthday Sir Huw! I'm not so much of a Bat Fan but love the cop car in 76120! I think it's one of the most accurate looking cars LEGO has made :) Do I love it enough to spend 50.00 for basically just it and lots of extra parts... not sure. The Minifigures are cool too and that helps. I also like the 76119 Bat Car, it's not too wide (it's supposed to be a mile long), and is just proper scale. Really good range on the whole, and the prices seem fair for a change!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm liking the 2x2 round tiles with holes in on Mr Freeze's skidoo thingy. Great for detailing purposes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Batmobile is a most definite buy for me. The Batcave has a lot of interesting little tidbits, but they could have left out the ridiculous missile launcher and Clayface to make the set more affordable. Mr. Freeze is pretty cool. I might pick him up on Bricklink. Everything else is kinda just "meh" to me. And I hope that price for 76138 - Batman and Joker Escape is incorrect. $40 for that set? Ouch!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The helmet for Mr. Freeze looks like the same helmet piece used for Mysterio.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't need another batcave (have both the 2012 and TLBM) but all those new pieces are pulling me in!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@wattybricks I think Mr Freeze's helmet might be the same piece that Lego are using for Mysterio in the Spiderman: Far From Home sets. It looks similar to, but smaller than, the bubble helmet used in Spongebob a decade ago (and, printed, in the Lego Ninjago Movie sets): https://brickset.com/parts/design-61287

Gravatar
By in United States,

Shazam—YES!!!!!!

I was so scared we wouldn’t get one. Now I don’t have to spend 200+ on the comic con exclusive.
Like I would anyway though...

I thought the whole point of a BIcycle was to have two wheels...

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm not a Batman fan, but these sets look very cool.

Do these sets come in an anniversary styled box for this special occasion, like the star wars sets do?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Batmobile is a must have, for sure. The Batwing will be a begrudging purchase for 'Shazam' (Captain Marvel, *grumble, grumble*).

The rest... hell no.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Batman from 76137 and 76138 is new minifigure for 2019?

Gravatar
By in Venezuela,

Part of me has always regretted not getting 6860. Now I know I'll make up for it: I'll get 76122, someday. Maybe in August, maybe in my deathbed, but I want 76122 and I'll have it.
...or I can wait less and get a used 6860 for dirt-cheap?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm loving the mix of Rebirth and '89 aesthetics. Gonna want that ASB Two-Face and 2010s Catwoman, but I'm hesitant to get another Batcave (2006 is still the GOAT).

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Batmobile is great. All the other sets and minifigs look like downgrades from the movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Count me in for the Joker Pursuit Batmobile. The price seems reasonable, and I like the symbol on the hubcaps. Will also probably get the Riddler Heist set mainly for the minifigs and the Gotham City Police car for my Lego Batman Movie accessory set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

1) Happy Birthday Huw!

2) I will definitely be buying all of these except the Juniors - they look awesome to me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

At first I thought that Batmobile was 7784, but then I saw it was a new set. 7784 has to be the inspiration for this new Batmobile. I like these sets, although I don't really like the look of the new Clayface. This is a nice Batman line though. I will be making some purchases this year.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That Batwing is so bad, I thought it was a boat!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I see quite a few interesting new Silver Metallic parts in the Batcave, possibly part of a new pre-pack of some sort. Also the multi-tile shooter from the City Fire sets in Dark Grey in the Batwing set, and the small dragon/Thestral wings from Fantastic Beasts in solid black in the Batmobile. Ultimately I think these sets look quite nice!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Prices seem very reasonable to me

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Happy birthday, Huw! Hope you get better sets than these for your birthday.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Please send my paychecks to Lego. It cuts out the middle man.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These look GREAT. Only a little disappointed that Batwoman is the same, but Clayface looks A LOT better with the printed head.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I kept reading 76118 Mr. Freeze 'Batcycle' Battle as bicycle. I was thinking "Well, it sorta seems like a bicycle, I guess." Finally read it correctly the third time!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nothing earth-shatteringly great about any of these, but nothing completely terrible either. Most of them look pretty fun.

That Batwing is not very good, but the GCPD cruiser in the set sort of makes up for it. The Batcave is another retread of a set they've already done too many times, but I'll still get it thanks to the little details as well as the cool looking vehicle and unique new take on Clayface.

I do wish they'd stick to Batman-sphere characters for these, but I am thankful that there's finally a chance to get a Shazam outside of the SDCC exclusive figure or a Chinese knock-off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Happy birthday Huw!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Happy Birthday Huw! Hope you’ve had a great day... oh, and I like these sets...

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

FINALLY a great Batcave since 2006! I'm sooo happy about this!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A nice batmobile at a reasonable price, I want the Shazam and Commisioner Gordon figures but not enough to pay that price for a so so set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seriously why is the Riddler's cane a crowbar after they made a new piece for the Lego Batman Movie?!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Calling in Shazam to deal with the Riddler seems like overkill. Unless you were desperate for some of that wisdom of Solomon I suppose...

Gravatar
By in France,

Marvel not DC!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the police car in 76120. Reminds me a lot of the typical '70s police car. And is that an actual chrome grill on it?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've got a complete Harley collection, and that meh looking juniors set is $40! It's definitely not one of the better versions of her they've done lately... Bummer.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Congratz Huw!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

These looks horrible. And that's something because usually Btaman sets are just bad :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

My plan is to buy the Batmobile, Batcave, and the Riddler Robbery, and BrickLink Freeze, Gordon, Shazam, and Harley. Problem solved.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Those new parts on the structure under the bat phone! I'm in love!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I like the ASYLUM 4+ Set, looks nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@huw happy birthday!
Cool looking sets! It really liking those juniors. Others look decent

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I do like this wave, and will pick them up.

Are we still expecting a direct-to-customer LEGO exclusive set? I thought that had also been rumoured...?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m not sure if it’s just me but I hate the new cowl and I’m real curious as to why the juniors sets are the only ones that have them in this wave

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I am actually happy that nome of them seem part packs unlike that Avenger Complex so I will be saving on this wave.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Stickers are my nemesis

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Finally a 1950s/1960s helicopter!! Shame its green and lime green (bit 'out there' for a civilian helicopter even with stickers left off)

Commissioner Gorden's torso and leg prints are awesome, as is that hair piece in brown.

That police car SUCKS. It would look ok yet clayface must have sat on its windscreen.... Why they made it look so ugly must be the riddle of the set.
Such a wasted opportunity for an old police car (at the very least 1970s style)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

O sorry I didn't read the final post. Happy birthday Huw!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man, I'm running out of $ and room for LEGO. And Thunbear needs to chill. I'm wondering if the Batman theme is profitable for TLG.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If the Batcycle splits in to two separate bikes then it will make a lot more sense as a motorcycle type vehicle.
Clayface is just all kinds of wrong.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Okay, the Batwing actually I doesn't look that bad. In the pictures shown, it looks like two flat half-circles on either side of the cockpit. It looks much better on the box.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely buy the bat-mobile !

Gravatar
By in United States,

This Clayface is such a down grade from the LEGO Batman Movie. The batcycle sort of reminds me of the Tumbler and makes me wish we got more Dark Night Trilogy sets.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

What happened to leg printing?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I must say, these are for me the definition of uninteresting. Good chance to save.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Well, they all look ... awful.

OTOH, that Captain Marvel/Shazam figure? I can honestly say that he's the only thing there that I'd like to buy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Happy birthday huw!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Batmobile is really nice. It has no wasted pieces on some useless small side build. All the $30 is in the car. I will be buying this.

The Mr. Freeze and Batcycle set is ok. I will probably be buying this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@MataNui2009:
Batwoman is the only repeat minifig in this batch other than Batman in the 4+ sets. All the other minifigs are new (even the Rebirth Batman is slightly different. However, I see Captain Marvel, but I don't see his mentor, the wizard Shazam anywhere.

@Puppyjonathan:
Huh? That's the Type 2 cowl from 2012. Well, technically it'd be the Type 2.5 cowl from maybe a year or two later, when they revised the mold to let the cowl sit a bit lower on the head and match the facial features a bit better. It's the rest of the Batmen who have the newest Type 3 cowl.

Anyways, the Mr. Freeze set comes with new Batman/Robin/Freeze, there's a 2x2 round tile w/ fan-blade design, two new warhead tips, and a new grapple tip (all three of these are built up to work with the stud shooters, but are probably a lot easier to find afterwards). On the side of the rear wheel is a coffin-shaped wedge tile that may be new, but maybe it's from Nexo-Knights? That's an interesting use of a spoiler on the Freeze vehicle, and it looks like the Bat vehicle splits apart into two motorcycles.

The Batmobile seems a bit one-sided. Batman gets a boat-sized Batmobile, a closet full of weapons and shields and things. Joker gets a gun with two shots. I mean, I suppose he could be planning to do parkour or something that would make him difficult to chase with a car the size of Rhode Island, but somehow I don't think that'll slow Batman down any. Same new Batman as above, new Joker, new 2x2 radar dish w/ bat signal deco (weird that they'd do this when they already have the 2x2 tile w/ similar deco, which makes another appearance in one of the 4+ sets in this wave). Wonder if they're stationary hubcaps, or if they rotate with the tires and are just positioned _very_ carefully (note: this looks like a photo and not CGI)

Riddler set has yet again the same new Batman, the first Commissioner Gordon that's not from a movie (and he absolutely _better_ have dual-molded legs to fill in the back of that trench coat!), a new Riddler, and a Zachary Levi-inspired original Captain Marvel. Is that the first time they've used a hinge brick base as a decorative element with no top plate?

Hoo, boy. Yet another same new Batman, same Robin as before, same Batwoman as last year, new Bruce, new Two-Face, new Catwoman (I was hoping to see something like that after TLBM), new Clay...thing (wow, that's going to take some serious work). So many new parts! In the upper left there's a four-armed rig that has two new circular saw blades, two new rocket bells, and two new 90 degree connector pieces that you can't really see much of. On the tower to the right are two new 90 degree connectors (different style) and two things that look like hand cranks. On the ground in front of everyone are two new Y-shaped connectors, and a 90 degree connector that has a grip on the back (there's a second one with the old tri-grapple in a weapon rack to the right of the entrance). The trophy room has teeny tiny representations of three staple items from the trophy section of the Batcave: a dinosaur (seriously, the fact that he _has_ a dinosaur trophy is far more interesting than how he got it), a penny, and a Joker card (usually all three of these would tower over a person). You can tell this model was built by hand in a rush because there are several loose parts. On top of the mud-covered tower are two dark-brown 1x2 45 slopes that aren't pressed down and the dark-tan plates don't line up nicely with each other, on the left tower is a whip antenna with a slight gap at the base, and above the computer is a light that's about to fall.

4+ Riddler set has the same new Riddler as above, and the 2012 Batman that later ended up being used for his first TLM set. No new parts at all.

4+ Arkham has the same 2012 Batman, new Arkham inmates Joker and Harley, and a new Arkham guard. The only new part I can see is the cannonball, which I guess they light on fire before lobbing them with that mini catapult?

I don't really see any models here that tweak my fancy, but as usual there's a

Gravatar
By in United States,

I likey the new 'action' pieces.
The batcave has some brown 1x2 slopes not pushed in all the way.... cannot unsee.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Don't know, the only two 'must haves' on my list would be:
The Batcycle: Although...that looks more like a miniaturized 'Tumbler' than a cycle.
and
The Riddler's Heist: Another Batwing (which will look great next to one from 'Brother Eye'), Riddler's helicopter, Gordon's police car, and...can't put my finger on it...may have to tap 'the wisdom of Solomon':) ('the REAL Captain Marvel':))

(Oh yeah:"Getem Batman!!!"-Shazam)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am happy to read that these sets appeal to as many people as they do. In all candor, I have never “collected” Batman sets, but I have purchased a number of older sets for their visual appeal. Unfortunately, I find that so lacking here that I had to check my calendar to make sure today was not April Fool’s Day. I hope this newly released line of sets is successful because that would be great for the brand I love, but I will not be buying any of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Mechahamster I don't think we'll ever get a batch of superhero figs as epic as TLBM

@Purple Dave I completely forgot about last year's Batwoman! They do seem the same. Didn't Captain Marvel have his name officially changed to Shazam a while back due to legal issues or am I missremembering the case?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I definitely want the Batmobile and Batwing! Those are the closest pieces to the Tim Burton style (my favorite) to come out since I got back in to Lego. I'm underwhelmed by the Batcave. I've never seen any of the iterations of Batman with Clayface, so that character is completely lost on me and I don't care about that vehicle. I'm filling it under "I'll consider it at 20% off" only because I missed out on TLBM Batcave.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Happy Birthday Huw!

Gravatar
By in United States,

People keep saying it's an '89 Batmobile but I don't see it any more than we saw that in the previous versions. A decent model but not a top priority.

The Batwing is nicely compact compared to the old versions but lacks the majesty... but it easily has the best minifigs for me -- Gordon, Shazam, and the new Riddler is surprisingly good, if not as effective as the TLBM version.
'
I can safely skip the Batcave but might bricklink a few pieces. I'm still satisfied with the 2012 edition but I've always wanted to expand it, and the Trophy Room was sadly missed in that release... not to mention a few good figs.

I'll probably also pick up the Mr. Freeze cycle just because the price is right... at least bricklink a couple of Freeze's new head to retrofit the previous editions I have that never looked quite right to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can’t believe 76120 doesn’t come with a shark.

That seems criminal.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

The batmobile and batwing are so reminiscent of the first Batman sets in mid-2000s, which I still have. Not sure I need all these, considering the first ones are also well-made. What I don’t like about these sets are the minifigs as they lack leg details. The best DC minifigs so far are the ones from TLBM, so unless the new ones look much better, I won’t get these. I’m sure the kids will still love these new sets though. ^^

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah, I have to agree with those that aren’t finding the batmobile similar to Tim Burton’s batmobile. I still think 7781 looks the closest.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I’m hoping that the batmobile has a bat missile function. based on what I,ve seen from overanalysing the image it looks like it might be able to split, although the wing parts look like they are attached to the centre of the build, also the wings look new

Gravatar
By in France,

You'reDoingItWrong you must be right. The more I look at it the more I know why I wanted to get it but MOD it. This Batmobile obviously lacks the big round airfan cooler in its front side, which is a main part of Burton's design. So now I really wonder if it's supposed to be a rendition of this version. I will get it nonetheless!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So as he is 80 do we get a post office queue Batman figure pack?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Time to hunt down a Penguin minifig to place in the Batmobile from 76137 so that he can remotely drive the Batmobile from 76119.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

These are all pretty good for what they are

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Purple Dave ~ I think you were cut off by the word limit, what else did you have to say?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love all of these. The Batmobile is a dream come true!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Honestly I'm starting to think we should have a Twitter character limit on here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@MataNui2009
Superman came out in 1938, Batman and Timely Publications first title "Marvel Comics" came out in 1939, and Fawcett Comics introduced Captain Marvel in 1940. Through the 40's, Captain Marvel actually became the top-selling superhero, even beating Superman and Batman. In 1951, Timely became Atlas, in 1953 DC sued Fawcett comics and forced them to stop producing Captain Marvel for copyright infringement of Superman, in 1961 Atlas became Marvel, and in 1972 DC licensed the IP before buying it outright in 1991. But, because Captain Marvel had lain fallow from 1953 to 1972, the name fell out of copyright, and Marvel was able to snipe the rights to it in 1967 by introducing a series of half-baked characters whose purpose was more to claim the name they viewed as rightfully belonging to them (and, to be fair, Marvel Comics 1 did beat Captain Marvel to press by four months) than it was to move product. So, when DC put the character back into publication, they got everything but the name. They rebranded the IP as "Shazam!", but I guess never really addressed the name of Captain Marvel until 2011 when they officially renamed him Shazam. Shazam is really the quasi-immortal wizard who created Black Adam and Captain Marvel, and gave them their powers. But, since Captain Marvel is now called Shazam, they can't really call Shazam that anymore, so they call him the Wizard Shazam. If DC had licensed the character just a few years earlier, they'd still be able to call him by his rightful name.

@JVM:
http://www.batmobilehistory.com/index.php
It's the profile that does it. Prior to 1989, there were Batmobiles that were based on WWII-era cars, with pontoon fenders, battering rams shaped like Batman's head, and a single scalloped fin down the back edge. Through the 40's and 50's, they introduced the black/red color scheme, bubble canopies, side fins, hooked headlights, and nearly every other major design feature that eventually went into the 66 Batmobile (there's a reason Barris picked the Futura as his base model). Then they went through a mix of a sports car/roadster phase, a 66 phase, and a little bit of a Speed Racer phase. Then in 1989, Burton added something truly new to the mix, with the super long nose, a massive jet turbine engine, and styling the entire car in such a way as to give it a face-like appearance when viewed from the front. For this model, the side profile, the shape of the fenders, the placement and design of the cockpit, and the jet of fire coming out the back are clearly drawn from the Burtonmobile. The bat emblem in the front hails back to more classic designs, though it would be ineffective as a battering ram being set back so far behind the headlights. I'm not sure what the sides are based on, but they don't appear nearly as complex as the Burton design, and lack the giant, angled, circular scoops that are probably meant to funnel air to cool the rear brakes.

@AgentKallus:
Just that there's a good mix of minifigs. I've almost never looked at a Batman set and loved the base model, but I've got over 300 unique Batman-related minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@mooslug, suddenly it is my favorite batwing ever. Thank you for sharing its box, which has a great view of its neat shape!

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Yes, grey one is new variant.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes a Shazam! Minifig,Mr freeze looks amazing!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Brick Dangerous:
As I already covered in my first post, Batwoman looks identical to the one from last year, and the 4+ Batmen look identical to the 2012 version. All of the other minifigs are completely new, though Joker is the only character who has two unique minifigs in this wave. All of the grey Batmen are identical, as are the two Robins and the two Riddlers.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Sorry, but in my opinion it's at least 1000 times worst than original 2006-2008 Batman sets...

Gravatar
By in United States,

You need to seek out some help. All I was doing is commenting on how some comments on her go on for waaaaaayyyy too long.

I wasn't triggered, but clearly you were. It's springtime so obviously the snowflakes are melting.

I mean really, with all the world problems you complain about you still come here and complain over a silly comment of mine? People like you are the reason I'm not active in the AFOL community.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm a *huge* Batman fan, but I find these all very underwhelming. It might have something to to with already having so many [better] Batman sets. I expected a lot more for an anniversary celebration; hoping there's something neat coming along we haven't seen yet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man, that Catwoman looks fantastic! Shame she's on a set that I have very little interest in.
