Summer Friends sets images
Posted by Huw,
Clearly retailers around the world have their hands on images of all the summer releases now because they are cropping up all over the place.
The latest to be found are for Friends sets, which you can view after the break.

Finally a set from this summer wave that I will be definitely buying, the restaurant looks really great and had lots of these new pieces for arches and roof tiles.
Ok, I am so getting that amusement park!
Restaurant is a must buy.
The poor creatures who have to design these sets :'(
Shopping cart!!! Shame it's only in a juniors set so far, but I'm sure that will change.
There's also an octopus ride.
An. Octopus. Ride.
But I can't just pick it up as a one-off just because it features octopus builds, because it's an amusement ride and it would look strange just on its own :(
Also, there remains a troubling lack of Vibrant Coral in these 2019 sets. I've only spotted new Vibrant Coral bricks in one of the Summer 2019 Friends Heart Boxes that were also revealed.
Restaurant, amusement park and the Pool party all look cool there is an turnable octopus ride aswell which i saw on instagram,
I do love the new shopping trolly piece aswell well done lego my daughters will love these..
There is way more sets though- we still lack images of underwater friends theme.
I rather like the gymnastics set. The play feature on the trampoline looks like it will amuse me and the kids for a good while seeing how far we can launch a minidoll... Another side shows the boxes, and I really dig how the three different events—the turntable, trampoline, uneven bars—can be fitted into large scoreboard base. That “mix it up” feature slightly has appeared throughout Friends history, and has really made those sets pretty neat ( 41007-1 could be a proper pet store by popping two smaller builds onto the jumper plates on the store base or a pet salon by popping two different smaller builds onto those jumpers or a mishmash of both times of store...)
The restaurant is superb. I love the use of the ice cream scoops as grapes. Looks spot-on. It instantly reminded me of 6376-1 when I first saw it.
I really like the swing and octopus rides too.
The amusement park is okay. The ship facade is pretty nice. I could pass on it, but I know all three of my kids will fight over whose birthday or Christmas list it goes on. Well played, LEGO. Well played.
This pool has some nice bits—the flamingo and pineapple floats—but I don’t think it’s as good overall as the last pool 41313-1
Disappointed that there seems to be few minidolls outside of the five main Friends. So many of the sets seem to come with two of them where I’d like to see some new characters. There seems to only be three boy minidolls included in this wave and Ethan (also in the octopus set, I think) appears as two of them.
It’s late (early?). I’m a bit ill and can’t sleep. My comment is admittedly a bit of a ramble, but looking over the article again, does the supermarket appear twice?
... it's a pink haunted ship rollercoaster ride.
Wait, there's lavender there too. I just can't even.
Having said that, how gorgeous is the restaurant? I don't indulge in Friends set often, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for that one.
Sure, why not, let’s put one Blacktrone I helmet in the Restaurant set and a mimic of a pirate ship in the Amusement park: that’ll do it!
That’ll quench the thirst of all die-hard fans of good old classic themes...
(cries in AFOL)
That teal coral piece though...
The girls are very close to having a tiki bar by their pool:) The restaurant looks fantastic. I like how so many different themes have amusement park sets. I don't collect them myself but I am looking forward to seeing how people develop their amusement parks.
Looking over these pictures again, everyone is focusing on the pirate ship in the amusement park—including me—but the swing included with it is pretty beautiful.
New moulds!
New coral mould and new shopping cart mould. Those are game-changers.
I'll definetly pick up the restaurant and the supermarket
Well, the Supermarket is a certain pass. But I like some of the printed pieces, might pick them up separately.
Mia's Horse Transporter is pretty boring. But I'm glad Emma's torso from Olivia's Cupcake Café (41366) is being used again.
Stephanie's Gymnastics Show is another rather boring set, but Stephanie's new torso is great.
Karaoke Pool Party feels quite random, but it does feel different and fresh among the previous Friends pools. New mini-doll pieces are nice.
Amusement Park is absolutely amazing. But I don't think I'll get it because it's so big. I got the last one and didn't really get my enjoyment out of it. I generally don't with the larger sets.
Swing is alright, not for me though.
Restaurant is the best set of the wave, the design details just add so much character.
Can't wait to see images of the rescue subtheme!
Images of the subtheme can be found at https://misterbricks.nl/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=1&q=LEGO+Friends+
SEAHORSE!!!!!
The colour combinations in most of these seem a bit off & don't really work. Darker shades may have looked better (although in the case of the pirate ship, a completely different colour is needed)
There are some nice parts & nice sets but there's a lot of passes for me
I do also wonder if anyone in Friends actually uses the pools because despite seeing a few bikini tops, there are no bikini bottoms & no one-pieces. It's a bit tricky to go swimming in shorts
I like that Restaurant, it looks really good.
That shopping cart is so cool! These look great, just like all the rest of the sets that were just unveiled.
Two supermarkets? Other than that that teal coral piece is something I want in more sets.
@Soupperson thanks for the link! Those sets look great too.
The water rescue sets are great, but again there is only one different female character—no boys—outside of the five Friends included. That’s a bummer. The wetsuit torsos and legs are excellent, but no male wetsuit torso.
Here’s a link to the lighthouse (I didn’t see it on the other link Soupperson shared). I think it’s the weakest of the rescue sets and rather bland looking. There does seem to be a great deal of play inside (and outside) but the other three sets have more new pieces and look like more fun to me.

Overall, the summer wave for Friends looks like a complete overhaul from the earlier release this year. I was really thinking that we might be done collecting sets for our Heartlake City because the winter sets were pretty bad, but the summer wave is strong and seems to have put Friends back on track.
Wow that restaurant is a complete throw back to the Breezeway Cafe!
That shopping cart and the ribbon in the gymnastics set looks like it belongs with the Playmobile. A whole lot of interesting new elements across this series, and that restaurant looks awesome. Also Huw, you have 41362 {Supermarket} displayed twice.
Supermarket is listed twice guys
Based in the reactions here, I'm guessing a review of the restaurant is in order....
Another pool? Another horse trailer?
No matter, the underwater theme looks fabulous. Love the dolphin sub and the amusement park and....just about everything else.
So many delightful sets! Now that Elves has ended, maybe I ought to start collecting Friends more seriously… in the past, I've only gotten occasional sets that interest me, like 41015-1, 41087-1, and 41317-1, but there have been many others such as 41311-1 that appealed to me but that I ended up skipping in favor of themes I was more passionate about. And these sets leave even many of THOSE in the dust! Not to mention that watching the LEGO Friends: Girls on a Mission TV series on Netflix has gotten me invested in the story in a way none of the previous books or TV specials were able to manage.
The Italian Restaurant is a definite standout, really heavily evoking that "I want to shrink down and be there" feeling that designers have spoken about hearing from kids in LEGO Friends playtests. Outside of Creator Expert, it's easily the best LEGO restaurant yet, surpassing 6376-1 just as handily as the aforementioned Pizzeria surpassed the beloved 6350-1 from my own childhood! Can't forget to mention the many delightful recolors: three new colors of the 1x1x2/3 with round top, the quadruple ice cream scoop piece in Medium Lilac as grapes, and the 1x2 double half arch in white!
The Boardwalk Amusement Park sets are also phenomenal, with loads of charming brick-built animal motifs and types of kiosks and attractions we haven't seen in previous fairground sets from ANY theme. I love the spooky pirate ship ride, which has a similar aesthetic to what I've thought might be suited to a LEGO Friends mystery-solving subtheme with Scooby-Doo or Nancy Drew vibes. New colors for the roller coaster cars are also always appreciated!
The Ocean Rescue sets are phenomenal, with fantastic color choices, lots of great animal molds, and some fantastic vehicles and scenery elements like shipwrecks and beaches. I love the new costumes for the Friends and Zobo in these sets as well — all looking ready for action! These sets bring a lot of fantastic new elements, such as new coral molds and sea creature accessory packs, lots more variety of pieces in Vibrant Coral, and Queen Watevra's crown in White as a broken eggshell!
The other sets not tied to a particular new subtheme — the gymnastics show, pool party, supermarket, and horse trailer — are less exciting to me, in part due to the last three largely repeating subjects from previous sets. But they still introduce some clever new twists — I love the floats in the pool set, the gymnastics set introduces some creative play features for the trampoline and uneven bars, and the horse transporter is wonderfully suited to Mia's personality, interests, and aesthetics. The recolored panels in the horse trailer and recolored Elves amulets in the gymnastics set are exciting as well.
Overall I think the designers did an incredible job with this wave, and there's lots to be excited about!
Dear LEGO,
In case someone at LEGO is here, more coral color. Why make a new color never to use it? You don't even use coral for the new coral piece.
Otherwise great job with the sets. The Friends reboot that started a few years ago really screwed with the colors. These seem nice.
Friends is not a theme I collect but wow the designers are doing a fantastic job lately
Friends is not a theme that I particularly collect, but that restaurant is gorgeous! Would look great combined with the Spider-Man Far From Home Venice Set!
@David1985: The new coral color is used heavily in this new wave, including in all five "heart boxes" for the summer, the new ocean animal pre-pack in several sets, and in most of the sets for the "ocean rescue" subtheme (not pictured in this article but just added to the same website today).
On that note, now that there are pictures of all the ocean rescue sets, this article could use an update. ;)
The Restaurant is the best set among them.
This summer is going to be expensive! I wonder how many of these sets I can convince my daughter she needs for her birthday... lol. The Restaurant is great for all of the new pieces and that awesome trash can, plus wouldn't be too much effort to mod into something more substantial. The Swing and Amusement Park are just dying to be added to my own expanding theme park (might need a little bit of mods to accommodate Minifigures-especially for kids). And a proper grocery buggy for a grocery store? Although I do like my brick built one... Anyways, great, wallet busting stuff! Keep it up and I'll be divorced before the year is out.
The supermarket is there twice
Friends sets have been so consistently high quality, it's crazy.
Such a pity that minidoll hands don't rotate so they can use the asymmetric bars properly. Otherwise some great stuff here.
I'm definitely going to build that blow up flamingo. Too bad for that "exclusive" Corner Garage scooter now being included in the Olive Garden set.
The ocean sets are much better than than the land ones - barring the restaurant which is possibly the best of the lot. Although a more realistically coloured narwhal would be nice
As a father of a competitive gymnast whose Lego interest seems to be on the wane, I was really looking forward to the Stephanie's Gymnastics Show set. I had a dim hope that it signified some change in minidoll construction, with independent legs and perhaps swiveling hands, to bring parity with minifigures. How else would they do uneven bars in a Friends set?
Turns out, they just make poor Stephanie & Mia do off-kilter one-hand giants.
Well. I'm still looking forward to it - it's an interesting mix of all three international gymnastics disciplines (artistic, rhythmic, trampoline) and it'll surely be fun to play with. The trampoline is terrific. I think my daughter will be excited (though she'll point out that she doesn't wear shoes or socks in practice or competition, and only wears capris in warmup).
She's asked me to make a Lego gymnastics advent calendar for her this year, and I think I'll strive for a little more authenticity there, and a Team GB gymnast minifig. I'd actually already designed a similar trampoline for it, but without the brilliant bounce lever. That's a great idea!
Overall the whole wave looks pretty good. I don't share the excitement I'm seeing over the restaurant—it feels a bit undercooked to me. Maybe it's just the fact that it's a building and AFOLs like buildings? But there's definitely some quality stuff here. Let's see if the kiddo can get behind any of it!
@dvw: For me the restaurant's appeal is less about it being a building and more about it standing out so well from other LEGO buildings by having a distinctively Mediterranean-inspired design language — in particular, the red clay roof tiles, arched railings, rustic color palette, and hanging grapevines. Not to mention offering a much more thorough level of detail than a typical Town/City restaurant set (outdoor seating, bathroom, kitchen, etc).
It also helps that I really like Italian food, and that after getting to know the characters via the "Girls on a Mission" TV series, seeing Emma and Ethan on a cute dinner date, or "Prankzy's" graffiti on the dumpster and the back of the sign, is really cute and fun!
@Aanchir: oh, I hadn’t noticed the graffiti on the dumpster. That’s a great touch! (We did watch the most recent season.) I think I came off a little more negative than intended—I *can’t believe* they actually made a gymnastics set. Thrilling, really! The restaurant I think bugs me because of that light yellow and the blank walls it makes up, though it’s entirely appropriate for the subject matter. The pizza oven & roof patio are terrific.
Hopefully something else here will catch her eye too! We’re not ready to move on here yet...
I love the swing ride in the amusement park set, although I think it could use one or two more swings. The ship ride could be a cool "kiddie ride" companion to the pirate rollercoaster. .
@David1985
Perhaps they banned it for safety reasons? You could put someone's eye out with that color.
@TheOriginalSimonB:
D'oh! I'll have to remember to laugh myself to sleep about that tonight...
So, the shopping cart and the tiny octopus have been mentioned for sure. The seahorse also got noticed, but there's also a tropical fish and a seashell that look like they could all be bundled together in one of those accessory mini-bags. There's also a new section of slide that rotates the opposite direction and is half as long as the existing piece, so you can make a twisty flume ride.
Looking through all of these again more closely, and they are outstanding. Very gratifying to see the firepower Lego keeps putting behind Heartlake City. And: the shipwreck in the rescue sub set looks Elves-caliber to me.
@Lyichir: That (the use of coral) is excellent news.
My little one turns 3 soon... That means I can start buying the junior sets for 'her' right?!? (the 5 year old can put them together for her)
I think that my daughter (and me) will be definitely getting a few (ahem) of the new sets, there is a few that will link in to previous sets/subthemes very nicely. I am not sure if it is me but the colours for all of this years set seem to have a different feel from the older sets. But I am definitely looking forward to seeing what sets my daughter will go for.
…………..oohhhhh I have just seen the picture for the dolphin rescue..... a baby dolphin.....it is a definitely must have for me at least if not my daughter. (This just makes me wish more that they had the Friends lego when I was a child instead of the homemaker sets)
