These both look pretty good, especially the ferrari.
Wow, that Audi is a must-have! Perfect 1980s Group B craziness!
Personally a fan of the Ferrari, although some of the sleek lines appear jagged because they were too difficult to replicate smoothly. The Audi's nice, but not my thing, so if I get either of the two it'll be the first
In genetal both look great! To be honest I didn't expect SC line to evolve that phantastically well when it was launched!
Red one looks great but the yellow one looks like a box.
^^that’s because the Quattro is a box!
^^ Its a group B rally car.
@worriz107
It’s a Group B rally car. Group B was possibly the most dangerous and exciting genre of rally driving. Which is partly why it ground to an abrupt stop.
Worth looking up on-line. Especially the Metro 6R4.
And yes, the Quatro was a box!
No interest in Ferraris and supercars, but very glad to see the Quatro.
Both fine Ferrari,s bumper is abit clumsily constructed.. I thought the bugatti veyron looked better..
Wow, I can't stop smiling. The Quattro S1 is my favourite car of all time. At Lunch I was watching a DVD of the 1985/6 World Rally championship. And the model is great. The Ferrari is good too soo looking forward to these........ Might get 2-3 and convert them back to the Previous Quattro model and Pikes Peak Version (wrong colour scheme mind). Didn't they say no to a 1985 Peugeot World Rally Car on Ideas recently? We need that and a Lancia.
It looks like 8 studs = $5 more expensive
These new set release pics are coming fast and furious! Really dig the looks of that Ferrari F8 Tributo! Should it be as wide as the big RV's, cargo and dump trucks in my city though?.... things that make you go hmm.....
On promobricks there's also a close-up of the Audi interior which looks nice with room for two minifigs side by side. However the steering wheel isn't centered in front of the driver, which I think is a letdown in a theme like this.
These are AWESOME!!! We finally have a Ferrari that actually looks like one!
Looks like a lot of intricate curves going on with that Ferrari. Glad to see LEGO pushing themselves to do better.
Like most LEGO cars, though, these would look better without minifigures inside.
The Ferrari alone shows how much better they can do with 8-wide than they can with 6-wide. They did a fantastic job at 6-wide, don't get me wrong. But I feel like the 8-wide is a change that they made with increasing the longevity of the theme as a whole in mind, and I think it will help them quite a bit in that regard.
I think the Ferrari needs the 8-wide. Some of the past supercars did too. But not the Audi. It's now just too big.
I can't keep up anymore... amazing
YES! Only $20 each and seat two minifigures!
So wanna get the Ferrari
The Ferrari looks amazing, but ARGH stickers!! FFS Lego please move into the modern world.
I'm really sad about this, but these 8 stud wide stud cars will definately end my Speed Champions collection.
In my eyes, the art and fascination of the Speed Champions actually was to create "real" cars in minifigure scale and with very limited means. The Mini Cooper from 75894 was a perfect example of what a good designer can do in minifigure scale.
If I want to have realistic and detailed looking cars, I go for creator (expert) cars.
This is neither fish nor fowl.
Ferrari looks really GOOD and surprisingly has very low amount of stickers.
Ferraris don’t usually do a lot for me, but that F8 is incredible, couldn’t care less if it was 6 or 8 or even 10 studs wide.
Conversely, my usual preference would be for the rally car, especially as one as iconic as the Audi. But this just leaves me cold. It does have a strange charm to it though, the extra (roof) studs give it a real old school look, which suits it.
2 very different aesthetics, a bit unfair to directly compare.
Wow, these are getting better and better every year.
Promobricks has announced the other single SC set is a Nissan GT-R NISMO!!
I'm somehow upset that they won't share scale with my previous SC sets, but undoubtedly 8 studs wide brings a lot to shapes, then positively enhancing profile and final results. Very positive and attractive wave for the range. SW feels like déjà vu, and Ninjago a bit weird but I don't know a thing about the new season theme and plot which will probably explain the new looks, equipment and so on ? They feel like a mix of Ninjago and Nexo Knights don't they?
Never got into the SC series, feel a bit out in the cold of a pretty cool party so might start with these and try and backdate to 2016.. they can’t be THAT over priced on the reseller list.. can they?
Yes, finally an original Audi Quattro! An absolute must-have! And the Ferrari looks great as well. I must say the move to 8 studs wide was well worth it, even if it renders previous cars somewhat 'obsolete'
I easily resisted the starting years of the series with the cars being 4 studs wide, I resisted the 6 stud wide cars as well. But I won't be able to resist those 8 studs wide beauties, a new theme for me to collect!
Want the Audi so much. But 8 studs wide? It's going to look weird against my other cars...
I hope there will be more Group B beasts by Lego.
Both of these cars look great!
Of course, moving to 8 studs has made them slightly more expensive, but I don't mind. It has made cars look better.
I usually just collect minifigures, but I'll be buying the Quattro for sure!
That Ferrari is beautiful. Honestly that and the Lambo are two of my most anticipated sets of 2020. Gonna be day 1 buys.
Shame they're coming next year, or that would have been Dads x-mas present sorted since he loves Ferrari.
I want the other car : 76896 to be a standalone Lamborghini!!! fingers crossed an Aventador
The quattro! Yeeesss. No navigator though?
Very detailed. I’ll try and get the Ferrari; the Audi is a little blocky for my taste.
The Audi is a must have. Brilliant that they've gone for an historic model.
So excited to see the 1x2 wedge bows FINALLY available in yellow, Ive been waiting for years.
Okay, I am starting to like the 8-wide thing.
These are really nice. 8-wide will certainly allow them to capture a lot more detail.
Ferraris have always tended to look really good, in Lego form, so while I still don't like the new 8 wide vehicles, that is the only one I'd actually be tempted to buy.
Love that Quattro. Walter Röhrl was a childhood hero of mine.
That Ferrari though? Meh, looks a lot like a Countach to me in some areas, probably due to that new windshield piece.
The Quatro is a must-have and I wouldn't have been interested in the F8 based on the subjecct matter alone but given how beautiful it is, I might have to grab it!
Really hope we get a few re-releases in the new 8wide scale. The black and gold 2 Ford GT-40 would be absolutely amazing, especially in light of the recent movie. A civilian 2017 GT would be awesome as well, especially following the clunky-looking race version a couple years back...
Couldn’t care less about the Ferrari but the Audi is a must-buy
Had they gone with 8-wide from the beginning I might have bought a lot more of these, even with a higher price. These look great though.
I've wanted to make that Audi for so long, but I knew I couldn't get the paintjob right. I don't usually like the supercars so much, but that Ferrari is slick.
I didn't think Speed Champions could get better, but I think this wave has changed my mind. 8 wide and excellent vehicle choices.
Ferrari looks better from behind. But getting larger as 8 studs will reflect to prices of course (30% by my calculation). Thus, good bye Speed Champions sets...
But Rally, Group B, Audi Quattro... Yas please. I need at least 2!
Wish they got the licensing for Subaru
The Quattro is soooo good! 1000% better than the TG set
Looks good. Looks like these use the new 6-wide plate as chassis as well. Gives a complete new and fresh look to the theme.
The cars look great, but at 8-wide they don't really fit my Layout, so I'm probably not a buyer. I think they could have done the Audi nicely in 6-wide or even 5-wide of the recent MG set.
wow!
Cool! I definitely think the Speed Champions are still getting better and these 8 studs wide cars are good idea. Both cars are very good. Maybe the bests or at least one of the best in whole theme!
I think, considering that the six stud wide Ferrari F40 is too narrow and tall in my opinion, I think the designers made the right decision to go eight studs wide.
So glad they went for this larger approach, just having the two seats available to use is a huge plus point.
That Ferrari is mine, if only the F40 waited one more year to get a better model ... still happy with it though.
Bummer about the switch in scale/width from 6 to 8. That's no good. Hope that's not the trend going forward for Speed Champions. :(
So my Speed Champions collection will raises to 37 sets :-)
All 4 new sets are awesome!
