Friends Advent Calendar - Day 6
Posted by MeganL,
In Day 5 we finally got the minidoll and met Mia in her festive sweater. It's an almost exclusive minidoll - the sweater pattern has been seen before but sleeves has been added to the outfit. I still count it as unique to the set, though others may disagree.
Since Mia has a few pets, perhaps we'll meet them over the course of the next 19 days. Now the hamster has someone to take care of them! Let's see if there's another animal waiting to join Mia and the hamster, or maybe something to give these ornaments a more festive flair.
Today's build is a very elaborate fancy cake. I like the use of parts here - the medium nougat base reminds me of a graham cracker crust. The 1x1 rounds in transparent green with the pink swirl pieces make for a nice decoration. The whole colour scheme reminds me of a cheesecake - a layered one at that - even with a cherry on top. The colouring is *almost* festive with the pink and green.
This ornament may be a bit challenging to hang considering the placement of the cake decorations. But a girl (and hamster) has to eat, and who doesn't like cheesecake?

I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake. It's too rich for me. I went to a function once, and cheesecake was the presented food, but nobody had thought to bring any spoons. Does everyone realise how difficult it is to scarf down a cheesecake without the benefit of cutlery? Not easy, no.
Nice little build. Consistent for once.
^ I would've been happy to use a pair of barbecue tongs if they'd been on offer.
Instead, I ended up wearing most of it. 'Cause I'm a classy bastard.
I we sure the green studs aren't some sort of toxic slime? Who put's florescent green stuff on a cake?
Kinda reminds me of Aunt Petunia's cake in the second Harry Potter movie. Oh wait, wrong calendar.
^Take the cheesecake out of the fridge for a week. You'll see where the fluorescent green comes from.
@MeganL my apologies from yesterday's comment - you are correct, that torso is indeed exclusive to this set due to the green sleeves whereas the previous appearance of the torso pattern is with bare arms in the other two Friends sets that include it.
Surprised I missed noticing that. *forehead slap*
I found it quite easy to hang on the tree. otoh, my guess is that the birthday cake is for baby Jesus, as after all, Christmas IS a religious celebration.
At my local supermarket, they're selling nice containers of "green candied fruit" along with "red candied cherries" to use for fruitcakes. I'd guess that's what the neon-green is meant to represent...it's a cheesecake decorated in Christmas colors, for the holidays!
