The only good thing in these entire sets is Mysterio and the Iron Man Mech set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow. These are bad.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Idk I really like these

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Mysterio, Spiderman and „Ghost Spider“ in the Same set... guess I will get this just for the figures. Don‘t like any of the builds one bit though :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very poor wave. I'll probably pass on all of these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

More mechs...? Boring sets : /

Gravatar
By in United States,

Kinda like the updated Captain America fig with the helmet and printed chin strap.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The aim guys look pretty cool. Shame there is no army building set for them.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Somebody at Lego is really obsessed with Mechs. What a boring load of sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mysterio, Noir, and a pretty good Black Panther. Everything else is either goofy or bad. Though we've had some excellent Spidey stuff in the last few waves, so I'm not too miffed. It'll just be a cheap year for me. A little annoyed that we got a Spider-Man mech and Venom mech in the last wave, and we're getting poorer versions here. Same for the 'Spider-bike', where we got a much much better version in the last wave, scuttling legs and all. (As well as the Spider-jet, another (lower quality) retread of a previous vehicle. Mysterio's vehicle is also strongly reminiscent of Lex Luthor's previous Juniors mech-tank.) I know it's tough to come up with new builds but maybe just do ones that we haven't had LAST YEAR

I don't mean to sound so negative, there's just a lot of cons. If we had had this round of sets first, and THEN got the last wave, it would've been fine. But we're regressing here

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh...only interesting thing to me was Thor and Black Panther together. I’ll pass on these

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ghost Spider & Spider-Man Noir look good!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Here I was hoping we were going to get a whole wave of Endgame final battle sets after seeing Hilo’s helicopter drop. We could have gotten a Leviathan, Sanctuary II, Chituari tanks, and those beast things as well as minifigs of Viking Thor, Iron Patriot, new Captain Marvel, etc.

Instead we get mechs galore, and not even cool looking ones like many in the past.

I guess I have to remind myself that these are intended for kids to play with...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only good thing about these are the figs. Everything else is super meh.
Also does Thanos have two different colored eyes? Or is it just me?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I first spotted these on Instagram but they were blurry, probably for the best as I'm not impressed by the sets.. just the minifigs however they need some leg printing Thor black panther and captain America!
And spiderman mech and the jet arent the best maybe for a juniors set...and lastly that tank mysterio has looks like a lex Luthor one made a couple of years ago, these are no more than a 7/10 if I'm honest...

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I don't know why they keep giving Spider-Man vehicles and mechs when the entire point of his character is that he travels by slinging spider webs.

If they're going to keep doing this whole vehicle thing, they might as well make the Thanoscopter into a set.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The mechs would be great if we hadn't been flooded by them recently. Now they're just... ok. Poor selection of villainous minifigs too. Generic mooks and rehashes of doc ock and mysterio.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey guys! Remember that time in Avengers: Endgame when Thanos shrunk down to the size of a normal man and got in a mech to fight Iron Man (who also happened to have a mech)...and then Spider-Man and Venom also joined in the fight with their own mechs?

There's a TON of stuff in the TWENTY THREE movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even more in DECADES of comics...and THIS is what they come up with? Star Wars has only had 10 (soon to be 11) movies and yet in the TWENTY YEARS of Lego sets, they haven't ever had a line that's been as disappointing as this Marvel line.

DC fans be warned, you're probably going to get some crappy sets and lots of mechs too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seeing as though Mysterio is my all time favorite Marvel villain, that classic version of him is a must have. Everything else build wise is whatever. However I really like the mini figures (besides Thor), especially Black Panther. That’s the closest we’ve ever gotten to a classic Black Panther with his cape.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm just pleased to see the parts pack of missiles etc is not IP locked to Batman.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmmm. Not sure how to feel about these. Not really my thing, and the only recent Marvel set I've been remotely interested in was last year's Quinjet.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Some of those sets seem to be juniorized despite they are not juniors sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Patrik78 said:
"Some of those sets seem to be juniorized despite they are not juniors sets."

One of them is definitely a Juniors set though, but I see what you mean

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Ludicrous how much reuse there is. Not even good reuse like re-releases of rarer out of print characters, reuse of characters that are a year old like Gwen and Venom.

A real crime to do AIM agents but not give them the signature Hazmat suit look.
Captain Americas mask should be in a below 20$ set.

Only thing I recommend is the tan Prince of Persia hair on Thor, something which I asked for since 2012. I guess better late than never but it will probably turn up in a City set so why bother now?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

so much they could do, these are a bit dull

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well these look like absolute rubbish... even the mechs resemble knockoffs, they're just color-coded piles of ball joints with barely any personality (except possibly the infinity gauntlet on the Thanos one), and they don't make any logical sense (even by the standards of LEGO Marvel sets). and I imagine they will look really strange with just minifigure heads sticking out of comparatively massive bodies.

The much worse versions of the spider-crawler and venom mech compared to the ones released literally one year ago makes no sense to me. I don't get it. I don't like any of these vehicle designs, the best one by default is that huge motorcycle IMO.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Woah, that's a lot of Juniors sets :O Good thing I'm not reaaaaaaaallly into super heroes. :-)

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Not one set but... Minifigures, yay!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it just me or does Iron Man look like he's got puffy cheeks or is about to blow a bubble gum bubble?

Only Spider Girl and Noir are of interest (plus Black Panther looking again)- shame they'll be really expensive as separates..

Gravatar
By in France,

Really disappointing

Gravatar
By in United States,

Angry face mini-fig Thanos cracks me up. Almost worth getting that mech just for that figure.

Otherwise - nothing much of interest. Speeder bike attack and truck take down look like they would be fun to have to play with for my kid, with all the different figures and vehicles.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Surprised by the negativity. Then again, comic book fans are the second hardest demographic to please, after star wars fans.

Is nobody going talk about how they finally gave Captain America a physical helmet?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it just me or do next year's sets feel extremely focus-grouped and dare I say, uncreative? Like, "kids say they like monster trucks so here's a bunch of Creator and City ones" and "kids like mechs so here's half a wave of mech-centred sets"

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guess I'll be bricklinking Spider-Man Noir, but that's about it from this wave. Disappointing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow what where the designers thinking, by looking at these I think the discussion made for Marvel 2020 sets where just build anything ANYTHING, no matter if its new or redone just do anything and you've got 20 mins to do so.

Sadly they did anything, and not very well. All of these look dreadful, such a shame. In my eyes these looked rushed and not exciting very disappointed with these. Will not be buying any other these unless they get crazy reduced (which from what I'm seeing in these sets is inevitable).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Some nice minifigures (which is sort of the point with most of the Superheroes sets) but otherwise I personally can't think of one set that I would buy for the build experience. The mechs and vehicles should sell well to the younger audience especially as they will probably be at a lower price point but for me Bricklink will be the place to go for the figs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The creative on these Marvel sets have really gone down the drain in the past few years. What a shame!

Gravatar
By in France,

There's something very "To Sell Toys" about all this, with the mechs and spider-vehicles. It worked fairly well in the 90's, of course... On the other hand, this is the logical progression of the Mighty Micros idea, which was rather fun, and in that light this seems rather good.

Nice to see the Nexo Knight mech moulds getting some use again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Comic book version Black Panther, Mysterio, and Spider Noir are good but the builds. Yikes. We could use the Spider Noir head to make a black suit Spider-Man finally.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I JUST BOUGHT THE PREVIOUS SPIDER-MECH VS VENOM-MECH!!! Now LEGO has the audacity to release another that I will absolutely buy?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hard pass on all of those.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

What's with all the random mechs? Like, Lego produces a lot of them across its themes but they feel really out of place here. There's plenty of superhero source material to base sets off at any price point yet they decide to go for a series of the blandest mechs they can, matching the colour scheme to a popular character and calling it a day.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Looks like Super Heroes has caught the Star Wars bug; sets full of good minifigures but builds that are meh!!

So far for me 2020 is looking like a bust...until I see the summer/fall sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO has caught the obsessive-compulsive mech disorder. The Brothers Brick had it there for a while...

Great minifigures, though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Mysterio may be the only one of these I buy, though I wish they would have done away with the helicopter and useless vault and just made the 'mech' bigger.

And the 76143 Avengers Truck Take-Down looks like a M.A.S.K. set from the 80s.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Two sets with AIM agents? Normally they do actual supervillains, or at least go HYDRA since people know them from the films. Are AIM being pushed as baddies in whatever marvel cartoons are running right now?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll probably get the Iron Man mech but that's it maybe Thanos on clearance

Gravatar
By in France,

Had this Iron man suit already been released before? I mean, which Mark is it? I think I'll get the set just to add it to IM Hall of Armors. I like it, but would be so happy if the gold color could be so bright and hem... Gold once I have it in front of me. Super job made by the photographers so that the sets and colors look attractive on official pictures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The mechs look like a Lepin invention.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

why can't Marvel sets be as accurate as Star Wars sets

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I am kind of interested in the truck set just because I don't have a Hawkeye yet but considering how expensive the set is likely to be here in Australia I will probably just buy a Hawkeye elsewhere.
I would buy the helicopter rescue set if it didn't cost $120 but at that price there is no real way I can justify it (even on sale)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ghost Spider & Spider-girl of interest.
I can see my daughters having fun with these but then, they are the right age group

Gravatar

@Brickalili said:

And they don't even have proper beekeeper suits!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The figures are great (particularly Mysterio, Black Panther and another way to get the new Captain America), but the only other set I might get is the Oron Man Mech.

The two Avengers sets aren’t too bad, but not great either. At least they’re better than Spidey.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Won’t be buying any of these.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

PASS. not one set is interested...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Some minifig interest for me here, but that's almost all.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Shame they didn’t include any mech’s... I was really looking forward having more mech’s...

Absolutely dreadful. What the hell is going on at LEGO HQ?

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

The Mysterio mech in set 76149 looks a lot like the Lex Luthor mech in 10724. The Thanos and Iron Man mech gives some ideas to what you can do with Sandman and Hydro-man (since Mechs are so popular I never understood why there wasn't made as "mechs" (just big buildable version of them).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wow. These are bad.

I liked the battle-suit mechs from Nexo Knights, and I like the new body pieces ... but these all just seem weak and lazy. Iron Man has a mech? Of course he does, it's the Hulkbuster and they've released 2 of them already (3 counting the War Machine Buster). Why is Thanos and piloting a mech? Why is there another Venom and Spidey-mech, when Lego released a far superior version of both, last year?

Even the figures aren't that good. We didn't even get any decent villains, just a bunch of random AIM soldiers? Really?

I like the Spider-man Noir fig, and that's about it. The rest is a hard pass.

"There's a TON of stuff in the TWENTY THREE movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even more in DECADES of comics...and THIS is what they come up with? Star Wars has only had 10 (soon to be 11) movies and yet in the TWENTY YEARS of Lego sets, they haven't ever had a line that's been as disappointing as this Marvel line."

Yeah I wonder about that too with Marvel... 23 MCU films... that's hours worth of content to dissect for interesting toy ideas. Take us back to the Battle of New York from Avengers for some sets we didn't see back in 2012, or give us sets from the first Iron Man films, Captain America, or Thor. Take the new Speed Champions chassis, and give us a Race at Monaco set with Tony Stark's racecar and Whiplash from Iron Man 2 for example. Or how about an updated Milano or The Quadrant from the Guardians of the Galaxy films?

Not to mention the comics... that is sitting on a treasure trove of lore ideas. Lean into the silly side of Marvel comics and give us something out there like "Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck vs. the Thanoscopter." Or dive into the decades of storytelling with the X-Men and Fantastic Four. While I am sure plenty of the grittier stories from likes such as Daredevil or Deadpool might not translate well into Lego, we could definitely get them as characters included in with other Lego sets. Heck even go bonkers and dive into Marvel's 1700 series of stories, with colonial America versions of the Marvel characters in something like a massive sailing ship; or how about the 2099 continuity the comics are currently exploring? We have already got Miguel O'Hara once from Lego, why not the rest of Marvel's far future heroes?

Marvel is consistently the line of missed opportunity for Lego. I don't know if the licenses requires them to do the mechs or something like that, but it just always feels like Lego gives Marvel the short end of the deal while their other licenses get more attention.

That has been my reaction for the most part of 2020 reveals, something my wallet is happy

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks thoroughly "meh" to me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are all misses for me.... heck, they can't even get AIM agents right.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The AIM sets look interesting to me, as they match the vehicles from the Endgame wave. Not sure about the rest...

Gravatar
By in United States,

These sets all sort of look juniorized, and really have little to do with anything from the comic books, TV series, or films.

There's lots of stuff to go on; comic books, TV shows, and films, and I'm not really into comic books, and this is just what I've seen from what's offered in action figures (got into them as of late). I would personally like to see a Cloak and Dagger set; primarily to get a Brigid O'Reilly/Mayhem (portrayed by Emma Lahana in the TV series) minifig. Had a major crush on her as Kira Ford/Yellow Dino Ranger when I was a kid.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All the sets have that 'Junior' look but I still like alot about them.
Very cool new Marvel figs to have all around, and the stand outs to me are the Venom, Thanos and Iron Man Mechs seem fun to MoD.
Hawkeye's Truck is very cool and reminds me of a mini version of an Agents tractor trailer.

Kids will definitely dig these. Wish though they'd do like one in each wave, a more detailed larger set.
Something reminiscent or significant from the Marvel comic book universe.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

A real shame, I thought Lego had finally "seen the light" and realized we want good builds (and not just attractive minifigs) when they introduced the 76108 Sanctorium - a set I'd nominate for "Set of the year 2018". The mechs are particularly meh, as they're nearly identical (with only color scheme and minor details separating them) and relies too much on that specialized chest piece.

The Superheroes sets feels more and more like SW battle packs, basically Lego going "Here are the minifigs you want - yours IF you're willing to buy this pointless build we have to include for licensing reasons". Also, given the "premium" status of the Marvel figures, why have they been so consistently skimpy on the leg printing?

And I have to agree with CCS, that Iron Man figure looks hilarious - it reminds me of that "about to vomit" face from the Rollercoaster set. Maybe he finally cranked up his suit too much?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I kinda like the small mech sets, I'm a fan of mechs and these small cheap sets have the bonus a few marvel figs which is nice as I'm not a fan of the Lego themes but do enjoy marvel.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

The usual Good Figs, Bad Builds scenario, as I see. I wonder why TLG insists on doing this?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I might pick up a few for the figs, but on the whole I'm not too excited. Add in that I'm running out of display space and if I pick any of these up they'll be parts and figs sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well they aren’t bad, just repetitive for those of us big kids who obsessively collect this stuff.
Still gonna buy ‘em.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think I may try to pick up a few figures, or a set if it is on a really good sale...but I can easily pass on these.

I'm excited. 2020 will finally be a cheap year for LEGO buying! (at least winter wave)

Any ideas on MSRP? I can guess, but didn't know if anyone officially knew yet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well these look just awful. I understand the main purpose of the Super Hero sets is to sell the character minifigs, but... Yuch! These just look and feel incredibly lazy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awful. Nothing for me to spend money on there. Shame that this is what they came up with.

Gravatar

"Is nobody going talk about how they finally gave Captain America a physical helmet?"

It was discussed last year when the first wave of Endgame sets was released. The Captain America motorcycle set had that version.

Well it’s all been said in previous comments, so I won’t go into the negative. It’s an answered prayer frankly, I need to back away from Lego purchasing and this makes it extremely easy so I’m thankful. Couple desirable figs in there like Spider-Man Noir (though he needs a coat) and the Ironman just for HoA collection. The Thanos fig is interesting. I really wish there was a fig size between standard and big fig. Big figs are obnoxiously out of scale with regular Minifigs, but obviously the characters are larger than regular people.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh well, saving money this year then.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the spider-man noir figure!!

@Yelk said:
"look-I'm not against these, but I wish TLG spent their time making movie-accurate sets for Endgame instead of their own stuff..."

I can't hate on them too much for that, because it's not really up to them. Most studios are cagey about releasing details before the final product is released, and this goes double for Endgame as most of the details weren't even settled late into the game of making the actual movie, much less the toys. This is a set they've had in development for a long time, and it's not their goal to go against the movies

Gravatar
By in United States,

Overall across a lotta themes. 2020 is a weak start design wise...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Anyone who wants a Ghost Spider, please go for Spider-Mech Vs Venom. In comparison, the new one is simply abysmal, as are all of these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@xcrossx:
I mean, what do you expect them to do instead? Batman has tons of vehicles. Wonder Woman has an invisible jet. Justice Leage, X-Men, and Avengers all have a plane of some sort. Most other superheroes apparently just take public transportation, or a _REEEEEEEAAAAAAALY_ long time to get anywhere. Still, they make motorcycles, and people complain about (most of) them. And they make cars, but people complain about them, too. And they make planes, which people like until the instant they realize just how many planes they're going to see over the life of the theme. So now they're making mechs. And people are starting to complain about them. I mean, I guess they could move on to trains next, but that seems awfully restricting for a superhero (except Batman, because, again, he has every vehicle).
