First let me apologise for the lack of news this week. I've been in Denmark. I had my netbook, I bought wi-fi time from the place I was staying but Windows 7 refused to recognise and connect to it, so I've been without Internet access since Sunday!

In that time it seems that Toy Story sets are now available in the USA: "All the new Toy Story sets are now in store at the Schaumburg IL legoland discovery Center, (but not yet in the woodfieldmall location)" reports Keith, and pugsly14's flickr stream has some nice pictures of them. Also, the Toy Story microsite at LEGO.com is live now as well, although there's not much there yet.

Thanks to everone who has emailed this week: I'll post a news round-up later on.

The site looks okay but there is nothing to do.

You can throw that ball on the floor, but that's about it.

That Flickr photo group is great! You can clearly see that Woody has legs that are three high, rather than the normal two-high minifig legs. Plus, it seems like his head and hat are a single element, rather than two. What I find myself wondering is what kind of green all those Army men are. It isn't sand green, but it looks different from the standard Lego green. Does anyone know for sure?

@Forestmen: You can throw the ball, and you can also turn the lamp on and off. If you click on the inside of the Toy Box, Buzz Lightyear's head will pop out, then go back in. Also, if you click on the blue 2x2 bruck on the edge of the table, the army men's car will race off the table, and down the orange track.

Ahh!! So Woody IS as tall as those jackstone guys thats pretty cool, if it works out i hope they make more of those legs. and that army set looks awesome for..army-building.

And that is the most awesome emily minifigure ive ever seen, looks huge! and all those sets of Greece, Lego must be pulling all the stops to make them look so realistic, im not sure how those new parts will be compatible WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!

jinxjinx550: army green, haha. What is sand green, just looks like the standered lego green to me.

Welcome back Huw, I sent you an e-mail and I hope that it helps with your constant search for lego news. what did you do in denmark?

'Sand Green' is a slightly grey-ish green, as used in the Yoda statue for his head (and also in many other sets) -

It's difficult to accurately judge colour from photographs, but if the Toy Soldiers aren't regular green they might be Lego's 'Mid-Green'.

EDIT - The review on Eurobricks of the Amy Men sets says it is *regular* green.

i think someone on eurobricks verified the soldiers are dark green. I couldnt help but notice a difference between the websites pic of buzzs starship and the lego ts website. On the website, the eagle emblem spreads across both sides. In the box, theres two seperate ones on either side. So which one's correct?

All new Star Wars Legos and Toy Story Woody's Roundup are showing up in Northern Virginia TRU. Just picked up a couple of battle packs and am very excited. I was bummed, though, that I couldn't find the army men. I'm definitely going to try and switch out their heads and hands to see if I can get some military folks for my city. :o)

yellowcastle: Did they have luke's landspeeder? What other SW sets did they have?

By in United States,

Tie Defender $54.99, Arc Fighter $64.99 (looked sweet, though I have the first one), Droid Tri Fighter $29.99?, Battle Packs $12.99, Freeco Speeder $29.99, Woody's Roundup $54.99

Still curious about the possible landspeeder and very interested in finding the pig farm, army men, cherry picker, and octan tanker.

Thanks. The items are probably normally about $3-5 less because TRU overprices items. I'll have to check ouy a TRU.

I really don't like the Toy Story sets. . . thanks for the info, I hope these aren't the "New flexible figures" that Lego is supposed to replace Bionicle with. . . I dougt it,
The toy story sets look too much like Megablocks

Kevin30: the"flexible figures" are Ben 10

By in United Kingdom,

alpha 40 - The 'flexible figures' mentioned in the press release announcing the end of Bionicle are in addition to 'Ben 10'; they are a new on-going theme that is scheduled to be released later in the year and are likely to be a similar scale to Bionicle figs.

@R4-G9 They look cool but I think they are too old school to be real.

Sorry, the first was about the first one, the second is totally the landspeeder.

Olathe KS Toys R Us has all the available Toy Story and 2010 Star Wars sets on the shelves. I also saw a couple Atlantis Impulse Minifigure sets that didn't show up with the first wave of Atlantis, and a new City set or two that they didn't have the other day.

I picked up the Tie Defender and I'm impressed with everything about it... but the price. On a plus note the new Star Wars battlepacks were only 12.99... they sell the Clone Trooper/Assassin Packs for 14.99.

Toysrus in Michigan has all toy story sets as well as ben ten. Both battle packs and 8085

Fair Lakes TRU (Northern VA) has just about everything from all the January 2010 lines: Toy Story, Atlantis, SW, City, etc.

By in United States,

Northern Virginia Target (Montclair/Dumfries) had the Army Men($10.99), the RC Car($19.99) and Construct a buzz($24.99)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The RC Car is $22.99 at TRU for 92 pieces! This is nowhere near the $10 per 100 piece ratio we are all accustomed to seeing for LEGO sets. This is a disgrace. I think these sets will sell well for children but adults will probably steer clear of this set at this price unless they are Pixar/Disney fans.

My TRU keeps getting new 2010 sets and it is a lot of fun to see which new sets will be there the next time I visit. Target and Wal-Mart on the other hand can't seem to get any 2010 sets in at all!

The end of the year is always exciting as the new sets are released!
