Tips and Tricks #4

Posted by ,

Hi everyone, Tiago here with yet some more Tips and Tricks!

Today we have kitchen equipment, a way to start your playground MOC, and an essential build for all your LEGO Cities roadwork and construction sites!

Microwave

Inspired by my kitchen build, and using the same technique of the oven, the microwave was born! A nice addition to any modern LEGO Kitchen, or your LEGO canteens and offices!

As always, a list of pieces and instructions on Youtube:

Swing

I had a failed concept of the swing laying around my studio for over a month until the solution to hold the top bar came across my mind!

This has been one of the most fun tips I have built so far and probably my favourite of them all!

Roadblock

Sometimes simple elements combined in a smart way give life to very iconic day to day objects.

No more accidents in your LEGO City!

I like all of them, the swing is pretty ingenious! Thank you very much for sharing, I really enjoy discovering new ways to represent everyday objects in Lego form.

My two cents on the swing!

By in United Arab Emirates,

So ingenious, these little builds. My son and I are enjoying trying to build these everyday. I only wish I had enough parts in some of these colours.
Keep the videos coming, they are great!

By in Singapore,

Absolutely fantastic! Love the microwave and will definitely incorporate it into my own MOCs. Always been looking for a small compact, yet still detailed and recognisable microwave, and this is it! Master designs from a master former LEGO designer!

These articles are brilliant, completely fresh and interesting. We need more and more of these. This is exactly the sort of stuff Brickset should be publishing.

Thank you Tiago for the tips this time again. The swing is very cool, and will soon be built here so that my daughter's Lego/city/Friends/zombie park will grow a bit and look more joyful and animated :)

Road Blocks ("newjerseys", as we say engineers here) are just perfect and yet so simple! Thanks!

It’s as if that keypad print was made for the microwave - it works so well!

I try to build at least 1 tip per tutorial, love them!

By in Belgium,

That microwave looks like an illegal building technique. That panel piece seems stressed.

By in Portugal,

Thanks for the feedback guys! More to come for sure :)

@Gabriel Sou Português ;)

@Tuun, yes, a little bit, but does it matter? :) There are panels with thiner walls that would make the build legal, the transparent elements would also fall off because the assembly would be too loose.

Those tiles with the black and yellow hazard stripes, they're just the best pieces ever, aren't they?
