DC Fandome, the online DC Comics fan event, commences today and it would appear that this 77906 Wonder Woman set will be available to purchase at some point during the day.

At the moment, details are sketchy. The Fandome shop is now live but if you head there, select United States and Canada and then click on the LEGO image it takes you to LEGO.com, so it may well be available there later on today.

The event starts in 9 hours (6pm BST/1pm EST/10am PST) so keep an eye out then.

I've posted information about the Supergirl minifig sweepstakes and more about this set after the break.

Thanks to Do1633 for the news.

LEGO Supergirl Minifigure Sweepstakes: Supergirl is here to save the day! Check out dccomics.com/dcfandomesweeps this Saturday, August 22, and enter for chance to win one of these exclusive DC FanDome LEGO Supergirl minifigures. Click here for rules: https://bit.ly/2YjnULP #DCFanDome #LEGO #Supergirl

LEGO Wonder Woman vs. Cheetah set based on the action-packed scene in Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming movie Wonder Woman 1984, where Wonder Woman first confronts her nemesis Cheetah, will be available for pre-sale on August 22. The set can be positioned in an action pose with Cheetah leaping out of a cloud, while Wonder Woman’s friend from the previous film, Etta Candy, looks on in the background.

Thought they weren't doing regional exclusives anymore? :)

Let’s just hope that this isn’t, yet another Us exclusive set...

I’d guess it is if only available on US or Canada lego shop - they won’t allow orders to the U.K. x

I thought that the DC Fandome was a global event. Seems a bit US-centric so far

It’s a shame it’s a North America exclusive as I would’ve loved to have bought it. :/

At least there’s no exclusive figure parts so Etta will be easy to custom. :P Using a boy’s torso to show she’s heavier is a weird choice. XD

By in United Kingdom,

I'm not too fussed that this will more than likely be a US exclusive as the minifigs are in the DC cmfs, they look identical and you could probably build it from scratch with only the missing 2x4 tile.

Also unlike the Star Wars exclusive set the build here isn't even that eye catching to me so easy pass even if it was a world wide release. The figures are very cheap thanks to the CMFs unless they have new faceprints which I don't think they have, then the girl figure has parts which you could get at Bricks & Pieces so overall nothing exclusive bar the one tile.

By in Greece,

The mere idea of regional/non regional exclusives is utterly rubbish...

By in United States,

Basically a convention attendee set, just like the Superman and Batman ones to round out the WB/DC trinity. All are easily replicated if you choose.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Two of the minifigs included here i already have from the cmf series so this is hardly exclusive other than the structure maybe which most of us could probably make ourselves at home...
But without the printed Tile!!

By in Australia,

There was the Batman one, last year, but was there a Superman-themed one, recently? There might've been, but I can't remember.

By in United States,

Its based off of the cover Wonder Woman 6, the first appearance of Cheetah. Not at all based on the movie.

If it's on Lego.com then hopefully it's worldwide

That's a lot of legal garbeltygook. But will try during each drawing.

By in United States,

I’m very curious as to where that description of this set came from. It sounds official, but as Do1633 pointed out, it is entirely inaccurate.

Not for me but looks great.

Is it based on a comic cover? Got that kind of look to it

Didn't you know, you can only be a true fan if you're from the US.
Us philestines from other parts of the world just haven't got what it takes.

Does anyone know who the candy lady is in the first Wonder Woman film? It says that she’s from the previous movie, but I have no clue who she is.

This set looks great!

Yup! Volume 1, Issue 6—Cheetah's debut issue.

It's a pretty good recreation though obviously the poses for the minifigures can't quite match how dynamic the ones on the original cover were. Love the brick-built clouds and landscaping in the background, though!

I am saddened by the fact that you might not be able to get this, I understand that both this set as is the Duel on Bespin were set to be in an upcoming convention and sadly it was cancelled that said, it should be available to all.

Am I the only one seeing issues where the site won't load securely?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Awww. I was rather excited for this one. I don't quite understand why it's US exclusive?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A nice set that i gave in a purchased via mother in law as we can never get these in the UK at a reasonable price plus a freebie Polybag,

Gravatar
By in United States,

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There’s absolutely nothing here but a couple minifigures…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this the first time we’ve seen an adult human portrayed with short legs?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

is bit pricey for the size but it will balloon in after market

have to find some distant relation in America now hmmm

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@TeaWeevil: Not at all. It's often used for characters with canonical shorter statures, like the Penguin and the various Hobbits.

Ah, I had forgotten about the Penguin. Hobbits aren’t technically human (I know short legs had also been used on dwarves, goblins, etc.)

The Wonder Woman vignette 77906 is available for pre-order now (20 minutes before the event starts) on the US Lego.com site. Unfortunately for me, it not listed on the Canadian site. Ships October 1.

The Etta Candy torso has a printed necklace. I don't know if that's an exclusive part but it's certainly not a boy's torso.

@Huw:
https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Wonder_Woman_Vol_1_6

The text on the exclusive tile indicates that this is based on the 6th issue of the Wonder Woman comic, released September 1943. On the cover, you can see Wonder Woman fighting the original Cheetah in the foreground (though WW had already lost the skirt in favor of shorts by the time Wonder Woman 1 hit newsstands). There are a bunch of characters standing below the cliff (but nobody on it). The cartoonishly overweight girl is indeed Etta Candy, but she's got a plain white top on in the original cover art. The other five women are apparently Amazons from Paradise Island.

The likely reason for this specific set being produced for SDCC 2020? This issue was the first appearance of the original Cheetah villain.

@Rimefang:
The roof of the green car in the Action Comics 1 set is _still_ exclusive to that SDCC set, unfortunately. The best you can do is cobble together a substitute using various plates and curved slopes.

@Zordboy:
2014 had the first DC set with the chibi Adam West car, followed by 2015's recreation of the cover of Superman's debut issue. These sets had more cube-shaped boxes with photo-realistic art. Then they skipped two years, and restarted the line with a set based on an old Aquaman animated series in 2018, the Batman/Gotham set last year, and then this.

@Cooliocdawg:
Etta Candy, played by Lucy Davis. Etta was introduced in the second issue of Wonder Woman's first feature series, Sensation Comics (WW herself debuted in All-Star Comics 8). She was a college student, always had a box of chocolates handy, loved her full figure, and basically served as Wonder Woman's sidekick, like how Batman had Robin and Superman had Jimmy Olson. The version depicted in this set ceased to exist during the first Crisis storyline, when most of the Golden Age characters (Earth-2) got wiped out. In the 2017 movie, she was Steve Trevor's secretary, which is a role that she did fill during the early comics run. It doesn't appear she will be reprising the role in Wonder Woman 1984, as the character didn't make the time jump with Steve, and would be at least 84 years old by the time the sequel takes place.

@Klinton77:
This and the CW Supergirl minifig would have been exclusive DC items this year at SDCC. Bespin would have been exclusive to either SDCC or SW Celebration (not entirely sure which), and there should still be a Marvel minifig and set revealed before too long. SDCC was cancelled, and while they did have means by which exclusives could be released online, none of the LEGO exclusives popped up at that time. The entire stock has likely already been produced, and shipped to the US. Releasing it elsewhere would require splitting up available stock and redistributing it around the world. So, for this year, they went this route instead.

Also, Professor Flitwick and Rubeus Hagrid (HP), Jack 'Dark Shark' Doubloons (Ideas Pirates set), Edna Mode (Incredibles), Hans Moleman (Simpsons), Small Clown (CMF S2), and _every_ minifig from the Mighty Micros line (most of which were human), all had short legs. I mean, they kinda cheated on Hagrid, as the short legs basically just covered his boots, and the rest of his legs were just part of the "torso" assembly.
