Mos Eisley Cantina with free Yoda's Lightsaber available now!
Posted by Huw,
LEGO VIPs in the UK and Europe can now order what, in my opinion, looks to be the best Star Wars set for some time, 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina, from LEGO.com.
I suspect it will be available in the USA and Canada at 9am EST. We'll check and let you know.
The 3184-piece, 21 minifigure set is priced at £319.99, €349.99 and $349.99 and 5006290 Yoda's Lightsaber is a gift with purchase of the set. You'll also receive polybag 30341 Monkie Kid's Delivery Bike, too!
Check out the press release for more information and keep an eye out here for our review, upon which we are currently working.

Same in Germany 01:10
11:09 on the 16th here in NZ...ahead of the world as always...except where it matters, Lego.com...
Hmmmm, might drop a few items and add this set.
I love the lightsaber. Hopefully LEGO will make more in that style.
In Australia here it said 16th, then changed to 17th, now no mention of an early release for VIP at all!
I wonder if it's due to supply issues.
also says coming 1 october in DK, I can see the lightsaber in the "breaking news line" but it's not there when you go to offers :(
Early Access starts Septemer 16th at 9am local time (NA/EMEA) and midnight on September 17 for AUNZ
Edit: 9am for US is EST
Sadly I'm really not turned on by that lightsaber. I can't imagine it even fetching much as a sale to offset the Cantina.
I'm debating thinking about buying this and comparing it to other sets I could get- or just spending the $350 and just GO FOR IT

Yes, I'm all up for a series of brick built lightsabers

Exactly the same thing here in Norway!
Very well thought out set, but after buying the NES and Razor Crest within a few weeks, I'm tapped.

Is that confirmed? If so, I'm off to bed but hope it doesn't drop as soon as I log off..."
Called Customer Service, that's what they told me

I'm seeing the same thing. No early VIP access and now GWP either.
I click the lightsaber and it directs me to the cantina?
The way the website’s behaving has all the hallmarks of not going properly live until anywhere between about 7am and 9am in the UK, the same as some of the previous big UCS or MBS releases.
Kind of disappointing, as the full Summer wave went active just before midnight on 1st August and the Razor Crest also went live at midnight on 1st September, both in the UK. However the cantina looks like it’s just going to hang around for a good few hours before being able to order.
Are we sure the lightsaber is a GWP now? I haven't seen any mention of it from official LEGO channels yet. Wouldn't be surprised if it's being held for the wide release on Oct. 1.
1st October for me too ????
Those seeing October 1 should make sure they’re signed into their VIP account. That might not be it, but the presale is theoretically just for VIPs.

You'd be surprised what these SW GWPs fetch. I recently sold the May 4 Promo for $50AUD which seems excessive for what it is but it's a great "discount" if you paid full RRP at the official Lego shop.

Yeah I usually manage to sell mine for around $40-50 but I just didn't see this one having the appeal of the other scene-based sets. I'm sure there's an audience for it - I just don't get it. Looks like a rather uninspired moc to me.
I love to read the comments describing the purchase experience via lego.com...
Sorry guys, it's so funny!
Just received an email which states the VIP early access and GWP is from the 17th (New Zealand)
Still a couple more hours until 12a ET in the US. I'm watching the website closely.
"...upon which we are currently working."
I do like a sentence which doesn't end with a preposition

Change your region to a European country and it is there.
I’m excited to buy this at midnight. I have a comment about MBS in general though.
I think the next MBS set, after Hoth, Cloud City, and Mos Eisley, should be Jabba’s Palace. If LEGO is willing to move away from the original trilogy, then it should definitely be Theed Palace!
The Cantina is still only showing as October 1st in Europe as well. So if they open it today, I guess it'll be one of those early morning releases (8am or 9am).
Anyway, if the lightsaber is a GWP ONLY for the Cantina instead of, like Hagrid & Buckbeack, for Star Wars purchases above 100€, that absolutely sucks!
I have absolutely no interest in the Cantina.
But I'd really like to get the lightsaber and I would certainly make other Star Wars purchases just to get it. But definitely not the Cantina.
I’ve got it showing early access for VIPs again!
Yes it changed slightly overnight and now shows the VIP early access details again where it didn’t before, but perhaps no further change until 9am
I love the set, but after bleeding from purchasing Diagon Alley I need a huge discount later :)
Now says "Coming Soon".... Must be 9am
08:59 - Done.....
It's up and I grabbed one!
Makes me laugh the Yoda Lightsaber is up on eBay for £99.99 (once they get it from the LEGO order)..
Ordered without problems.. I can't believe it lol
Yes, live now, ordered without issue! Two GWPs, too!
Done! And the Monkie Kid bike is included as well as Yoda’s Lightsaber!
TLG cheated the time a bit as you could buy a few minutes before 9am in the UK
Ordered one ;)
and status still haven’t changed to backorder wonder how long that will last?
At Birmingham store uk, no queue yet (40 mins until open) cantina looks amazing in display.
Purchase was (surprisingly) smooth here as well. A shame that Lego could not give more precise information on when we actually would be able to purchase the set, but pleased that the order limit was two, at least partially keeping scalpers away...

You mean Brickset didn’t get one to build and review? And you had to purchase one?
Or has Chris nabbed the free one? ;)
Ordering online was surprisingly smooth at 10.15 — would the website finally be getting better (or fewer people ordering)? :D Also ordered the Frankenstein('s Monster) Brickheadz and Hayride vignette, just to be on the safe side and not miss out on them. Although I don't have the slightest interest in the Monkie Kid theme, I'm glad to get that red motorcycle as a GWP.
Finally! I was awake way over midnight for nothing because of the delay, but around 10:00 am they opened for ordering, -great! Can’t wait to build this beauty!
Ordered!

Yes, our resident Star Wars expert has the review copy and will be publishing it later today, hopefully.
Apparently its now being released on the 17th in Australia. The page also appears to be under some strange impression that I dont have a VIP account? Despite my VIP points balance being displayed on the top right of the page?
Ordered, was doubting for a bit, but it looks so amazing, plus the lightsaber is also very cool so there goes the rent money haha.
During ordering it first said "coming soon" but during checkout it changed to "available now" so that is good news. Now let's wait and see how soon it arrives!
No queues at Birmingham had a total of 24 lightsabers available before I got one, seems diagon alley may have stolen some thunder although seeing them side by side in store it’s a tough choice between them.
Hey Europe! What time can the US expect it to become available? Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah it's all a bit wonky on the Australian page. There's also no mention whatsoever of the GWP. Hopefully that shows up once the set goes live.
Still not on backorder yet on the UK Shop at Home site as of 11:30am. Perhaps Diagon Alley did steal its thunder and there’s a ton of people thinking “...But I just spent my money on Diagon Alley and I don’t have anything left!”. I’m not one of them but two sets of over £300 investment is significant if you really want both.
There’s also the next gen games consoles to think about too for some of us in the next month or so!
Well I wasn't going to do it until I heard about the bike, but, yeah, still can't do it.

No pressure now, Cap'n! ;-)
In the UK I would suggest it’s possibly a combination of factors they mean the new cantina is not sold out. Like me, people are unsure if they have a job beyond the short term due to the virus crisis and £300+ for the latest set is not high on their priority list in life at the moment. Don’t get me wrong it looks great and I do want one, but maybe for this set I’ll do without until it’s discounted and life can be predicted a little better in the future.
Lightsaber gone already in EU

Yes, just called the Lego customer service (France). Light Saber is out of stock (but should be available again later), and around 1300 Cantina sets left in EU at the moment.
Welp Target and Big W are starting 20% off Lego sales at the same time this set's launching in Australia, so... I know where my priorities lay, this one can wait until its available in retail stores.
Leicester Square had 40 lightsabers at the start of today and did not expect them to last long.
It’s OK I guess, but nowhere near as cool as the little 1989 Batmobile from last year. I mean, Yoda isn’t even in this scene.
The packaging is like the VIP big brick from last year, so a yellow window box.
I don’t know, I think Smyths might pick it up later on like clod city so I’ll wait a bit.

United States has it too.
Ah, they’re doing so well with these thematically-appropriate GWPs. Previously they celebrated the launch of the 2nd UCS Y-Wing by giving schematics of the Y-Wing set to people who bought the UCS MF the year before (but not Y-Wing purchasers), and now they’re giving the lightsaber of a froggy little kindergarten teacher who lived in a swamp to people who buy a business that sells adult beverages to people who live in a desert.
@gizzmo55:
I got that on accident. There was a banner about Irish customers getting a VAT discount, and when I went to check what that was about, it switched my region from US to UK. Suddenly the lightsaber promo showed up in the banner.
It's live in the US now, including the Light Saber
