LEGO Explorer: UK release details
Posted by Huw,Earlier in the week we mentioned a new kids' magazine, LEGO Explorer, that comes with a cover-mounted polybag.
At the time we didn't have any details about if or when it would see a UK release, but we have now heard from the publisher Egmont that the first issue will be on the shelves of all good newsagents on Wednesday 21st October and is likely to be priced at £4.99.
Thanks to Adam at BricksFanz for assisting with gathering this information.

yay!!!!!
The U.S. is really getting the short end of the stick here...
I can't wait for the castle on to be released, assuming it will. As that has some epic pieces ad actually looks like a nice set.
Would love to be able to get these in the US but customs, shipping, etc. definitely make it cost prohibitive to import. Too bad they can't find a publisher here to produce these.
Ohh. I might get these. Polys are £4 in Tesco so an extra £1 for a magazine is great

I am really curious if we'll ever get these. I occasionally see the ones with a small cover-mounted set in a foil bag at regional supermarket chains here (Food City, Food Lion) for $10. 5 quid will probably end up being $10 here if and when they do show up (you know, freight, taxes, etc.), but I think the builds are fleshed out enough, and big enough to warrant that cost. Even if exclusive--I really don't want to pay $10 for one minifig, Klicky, or some other small toy. The current ones are insanely overpriced.

Its a Magazine!! So the rest of the world didn't get the short end of the stick when it came to "Bespin Duel", the WW DC Fanzone set, & plenty of other US only collectables & exclusives over the years?? ??????
Wait a minut? Isn't that a miniature Huwbot?

But this is a totally different situation - it disadvantages Americans. We need to take this to The Hague. It's a crime against humanity!

Fellow american collectors have the same right to complain about not getting Lego as every other collector. How many times do Australians complain about prices and supply? It's not ok to scold them. It's not their fault, that Lego marketing holds onto such a dump strategy as to shorten supply of highly demanded promo sets. If it wasn't for the high shipping cost, I myself would sent some of these mags over there. Play nice!
Huwbot could easily take him in a fight! Huwbot! Huwbot!

I personally don't have a problem with exclusives, be they event, store or region. Quite frankly I think the mindset every set needs to be available to EVERYONE EVERYWHERE is toxic, stifles creativity and in fact limits what LEGO will do. Their reliance on licensed properties is a consequence of requiring everything to appeal to everyone everywhere.
If this set featured rare pieces or a unique minifigure or special prints I could perhaps muster up some sympathy. But it doesn't. It's a basic polybag - you could build it just by looking at the photo. My cynical side suspects the OP cares less about what the set actually is and more about the fact it's something they just can't have. That attitude deserves scolding - though I prefer mocking. To each his own.
And for the record, this Australian doesn't complain about pricing or about supply. I understand economies of scale, and I don't revert to toddler-level logic whenever I can't get a toy I want.
Will be this magazine selling in Russia?
We picked up issue 2 last Friday. It was an octopus. (Sweden)

Better still, tell The Donald.
I'm sure he'll be happy to act on this disgrace and threaten any country that does business with Egmont in future that they will face the most severe consequences.
