I was hoping there would be a nice Batman related GWP as there was with 1989 Batmobile.
I was hoping the same, but orderd it Today :-)
No mini robots GWP left? ??
Picked up mine at the Lego Store. Until 10am there was double points online. That is also why they postponed the release date from Oct 16th to today
I'd buy it on the first day if they'd have included a mini Batwing. That's not the case, so I'll wait till it's discounted.
Purchased it at midnight; managed to get double VIP points (i.e. 3000) and the Mindstorms GWP, better than nothing.
Got it in the US before it sells out.

ME TOO
Ordered mine from the US site and got a "secret VIP gift set" which was just 5006008 as well as the mini Lego Mindstorms. Just glad I will have something to put together when I get back to the states in Jan.
I’m happy for posts like these in the morning because I completely forgot and like the poster above I don’t want to miss out by not buying it within the first few hours it’s been released.
Do tell CapnRex101 that their use of the word ‘contemporaneous’ has not gone unappreciated.
I got the notification from Brickhound last night at 11pm cst (midnight est) and it was available in the US.

Same here. I'm in absolutely no rush. The Batmobile is now available from other retailers at substantial discounts, and the same will happen with the Batwing in due course.
The only reason I bought the Batmobile on day 1 was the excellent mini version GWP.
No mini version GWP this time means no sale for me. Sorry TLG, I simply don't care enough anymore.
I don’t collect Batman sets at all, but this is seriously impressive.
Managed to grab mine right in that window when the 2X VIP points was still on. ^^
At least my overtime got me a little I can be happy about...
I do like how they mention this as the 89 collection! Will be a nice display to go with the Batmobile..
Hope we get more 89 - 18 plus sets!
I also wish they had a themed GWP. If it sells out, they will have some on 11/01 release date.
No mini Batwing GWP = No rush to purchase early.
Sad. Was really hoping for a follow-up to the Batmobile release.
Still, the set looks great and I'm pleased with the price.
I took the day off and drove to the store to pick up a copy. Grabbed the two new baubles as well, while I was there. Talked to the guy who won the DC Fandome grand prize. He said he's having everything shipped to a relative's house, and that everything but the guitar has arrived.

That's awesome about the Grand Prize. I got a surprise Supergirl minifig in the mail a couple days ago from the sweepstakes, so I'm happy.
@dumo1228:
I got mine Monday.
Can’t help but think this is a niche product given the age of the film and the market being aimed at. If it was from the Dark Knight films I could understand it more. But it is a great looking model

I thought this was a D2C set and only available at Lego stores?
can someone pleaseeeee explain to me why did the designer use grey flaps? they are more than obviously black in the movie. i'm guessing so the model is not all black, but that's not really an excuse is it? for a 200€ set for collectors with supposed authenticity I expect accurate details.

In the beginning, yes.
But after a couple of months almost all D2C LEGO exclusives eventually become available from other retailers like Galeria, Smyths, Müller etc. The 1989 Batmobile has been available for up to 30% discount at several occasions over the past few months.
In Belgium, the 1989 Batmobile set is only available from Shop at Home, which is why it is impossible to get it at a discount. I expect it will be the same for 1989 Batwing, which is why I was already happy to order it with double VIP points… Ordering from German webshops offering a discount is impossible, as they don't ship to Belgium… I can only drive there once every two months usually, although now with the increase in COVID19 cases it's not really recommended to go abroad anymore… :s
