77905 Taskmaster's Ambush, which was originally destined to be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, is now available to order at Amazon.com, priced at $39.99.

The 230-piece set contains three minifigures: Black Widow, Taskmaster and an exclusive Red Guardian.

Supplies are probably limited, so buy now while you can.

Thanks to MutoidMan for the news.

Thanks for the heads up, ordered one.

Thankfully, it appears purchases are limited to one per customer, which should help spread them out a bit so that more people can enjoy them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I received a text message for Amazon allowing for an early purchase so mine will be arriving tomorrow. It looked like the official release date was supposed to be 11/1 and they have implement a limit of 1 per user. So this is a much better implementation than the Nebulon B was. But I still hope to pick that up as well.

Nice.

By in United States,

Looks like a November 9 ship date, so it's either on a slight delay or they're really popular.

Bummer.

Wow! That was quick. I wonder if a lot of folks received advance notice like Blinky316?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks for the heads up! I'm glad to see there was a limit of 1 per customer, so hopefully these will be received by as many folks as fairly as possible.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As fast as it came, it disappeared. I guess I'm glad that nothing else will get in the way of me saving for the upcoming colosseum set.

Worse: only for the USA. Doesn't Amazon.com ship to Puerto Rico?

By in United States,

This set looks great but every time I see Taskmaster I can't help but lament how tame his design is

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got a text from Amazon before it ever even popped up in the news here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was in the middle of a conference call when I received the text from Amazon; I clicked through and bought mine in a flash. Then, I notified Huw so the rest of the Marvel Zombies could grab one.

This isn't the first and it won't be the last.

I don't really even want the set, $40 is insane, but I bought one anyways because I think all three minifigure exclusives will look nice on a shelf.

By in United Kingdom,

But not on the Uk one... there are marvel fans outside the U.S incase lego forgot lol!!

I will build the tank myself and the car it chases in the movie! However I hope Red guardian & white suit Natasha are available in another set or as polybags one day...

A huge thanks to you for thinking of the rest of the Brickset community, at least those in the U.S. I do feel for our international friends who have mostly missed out on these sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I secured a copy a few hours ago thanks to users on the brickset forum.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Well, I secured a Downtown Diner today. First I went to checkout, but then decided to make a separate order for the bricks and pieces and one set I had, so I deleted the DD and paid.
Then when I added the DD again for a new order, to my surprise a Mindstorms GWP was added!
So some luck there today :-)

By in United States,

Kind of off-topic:

I wish the DC SDCC exclusives were more like the majority of the Marvel exclusives, which have play value. So far, I’ve only picked up the Aquaman SDCC set because he came with Storm, his trusty seahorse, and some sea creatures to command; the other DC sets are purely for display. The only Marvel set I haven’t picked up is the Ant-Man bust, because it’s purely for display.

Just curious if anyone else had wished the DC sets were more than display pieces.

By in United States,

My sole submission to the Brickset Suggestion Box is an international exclusive exchange. My wife and I have ordered two for friends in Canada made through Lego forums while my Mom ordered another for another user in Germany.

Hopefully some other Americans who aren't interested in this set will offer to assist non-American Bricksetters. (Is Bricksetter the correct term @Huw?)

It might be up again in stock Bricksetters!
I just got a confirmation on delivery.

I ordered one this morning. First time I ever have got one of these exclusive sets!

For an SDCC-exclusive, forty bucks is dirt cheap.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I snagged one at 4:30 Central time, and now at 5:45 the page is completely gone.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That link no longer works, and the Treasure Truck page says SOLD OUT.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah that sucks, can't even get to the page. Stupid work getting in the way of buying LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I put something on the forum earlier. I always forget the main page. Glad some got it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was in the middle of class and missed it. I really hope it pops up again cause people have been saying it’s off and on. I really don’t wanna have to buy it later for triple what it’s worth

hopefully lego sells their website

My thoughts too... I have already spent a lot more on Lego recently than I am happy to admit; but I felt if this was my one chance at the white suit Black Widow and Red Guardian figures, I had to take it. Plus its kind of fun to say for once I own what was supposed to be a con-exclusive set, even if it was the year of no cons!

Well I guess I gotta start tightening my Lego spending belt before Christmas (or at least my spending on self Lego sets... Christmas is the right time to buy Lego sets for all my family!)

How do you set up text alerts from Amazon?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have been told this will be available from shop @home on November first in USA only if you missed out

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least they limited the amount you can order to one unlike the nebulon b scam where 50 assholes on brick picker bought all the stock. Some of those scumbags were bragging about placing an order for fifty and then what the hell why not make an order for another fifty and then had the gual to lament the fact that they might not sell as well on the aftermarket. Prob why they made that thread private. I lost a lot of respect for the so called afols that are on brickpicker. More like ASOL. Asshole speculators of LEGO

Amazon did state “we've scored a limited quantity of this LEGO set before its official November 1 launch date.” It’s probably safe to say everyone will have a chance to get a set on November 1st.

Yeah they do, depends on the seller because people need to pay international shipping as it isn't in the continental states.

Agree and I will look forward to the Nebulon B restocking.

Ewwww that sucks. At least the Nebulon has no exclusive parts, but that is still shady as all can be.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This could have been a first run to see how people jump on it. Lego can always produce more if demand is high for the set. Limiting it to 1 per customer is a great idea so aholes don’t buy all of them and sell them on eBay for 400% profit. I mean I do get some SDCC sets or mini figs over time increase in value like “ the collector”. But like how previous people mention buying 50 then selling it is kinda crappy especially because this is possibly a once in a lifetime way of getting a SDCC exclusive at retail prices

Got the alert because I'm signed up for the Amazon Treasure Truck.
Found out about the TT when my mom passed on getting me the deal for the Darth Vader Castle for $99 (was pretty ticked off that she didn't call/text me).
Signed up after that but never had a message before for anything that I actually wanted.
Finally, it paid off today!

By in United States,

I got 6 heads up from 6 different lego groups i follow. Got mine ordered. Thsnks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Apparently it’s going to be available from Lego.com in the US from the 1st

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Got mine on Ebay a few minutes ago. LEGO doesn't care, but I've spent a couple of grand on SDCC exclusives this year. Money that would have gone to them has ended up going to scalpers because they don't make these available elsewhere. Maybe someday the penny will drop that this probably costs them more money than they realise

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Should've guessed this was gonna get scalped.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

*Sighs in British

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yup I missed this one. But that’s pretty typical for me. I just can’t adjust my schedule like the old days.

Oh well...it’s going to be either paying huge scalp money or eventually buying counterfeit copies of the Minifigures. Hopefully LEGO makes the set available to more folks so I don’t have to choose between those two craptacular options.

The SDCC exclusives and the like are advertising for LEGO. It’s part of their marketing. Forbes did an article on this a few years back. The exclusives aren’t to get just a quick sale but to generate hype buzz, whether good or bad keeps people talking about Lego. The sales are inconsequential compared to millions of dollars worth of advertising it creates.

I understand your frustration, as I was not in time to get one myself. But what you stated about money not going to LEGO, is not how that works. LEGO still makes their money, from the purchased sets. You buying from someone on eBay just ensures that the residual money goes to the second hand seller.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Isn't that the same truck/tank thing Red Skull drove a couple years back?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I managed to purchase one of these. I'm hoping it does appear on Lego LEGO.com as that would indicate that 77904 might as well - and I am much more interested in having that set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just got news that mine will be delivered later today. I am pretty excited to finally be getting my hands on something like this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Received mine a short while ago. Haven’t opened it, yet; the box is cool.

Anyone else keep all their boxes and instructions?
