71387 Adventures with Luigi available for pre-order
Posted by CapnRex101,
Following its inadvertent announcement on Amazon.cn, LEGO has now officially unveiled 71387 Adventures with Luigi!
This set contains the eponymous character and introduces the new Tower biome, represented by medium nougat elements. A short promotional video also reveals Luigi's unique sound effects and interactions.
Furthermore, the set is now available to pre-order from LEGO.com, ahead of its release on the 1st of August.
Now that Luigi has arrived, which other Super Mario characters are you hoping to see in these sets? Let us know in the comments.

I’m not really interested in the starter packs, I wish lego would put out just the character alone at a much cheaper price(10$?) and then just be able to buy all the bigger ones that I actually want.
I find it really cool that they didn't just copy/paste the Mario design with Luigi's colors, they actually made entirely new pieces!
Looks like Pink Yoshi will be rideable (at least, digitally)! I hope that they'll update the green Yoshi in 71367 with similar functionality.
I'm also curious to know what multiplayer would look like!

You might be on to something there, but looking at the price and size of the other sets the cost of the Mario unit itself looks more like about $30 which is probably a bit much and would scare folk away
Awh I was hoping they’d reveal the full wave with Luigi. Not as exciting when he leaked two days ago. :P
To end in a positive note the little Yoshi animation on his tummy is adorable! I can’t wait to see what his other reactions are including the ones with his brother the box advertises. :)

You can buy the lego Mario or Luigi figure from bricklink.com

Collectable Mario polybags cost 5$. And these contain just a few bricks. Mario/Luigi figure is a smart Bluetooth enabled device, full of electronics and it just cannot cost 10 bucks. Average price on Bricklink for Marios is 30 euro.
His head is massive.

It's a nice idea, but it wouldn't really work. You still need start/finish tiles and a few plates to connect everything.
Also, considering that both of the starter packs contain less than 300 parts but cost $60, I would guess that getting a Mario/Luigi would cost around $30. With the starter packs you are essentially getting a $30 figure and a $30 expansion pack. It's an expensive piece of technology.

Look at this duuuuuuuuuuuude!!!!! Look at the top of his HEeEEeEeEeEeEeAAAAAAaaAD!!!!!!
For some reason this kit brings back memories of very heated Mario vs Luigi matches between my brother and I.
You know, that one multiplayer game in New Super Mario Bros. where Mario and Luigi are fighting over stars?
Good times. I wonder if I could throw something like that together. Maybe have a scavenger hunt for stars.

I remember those!!!
I will wait until August. I am sure there will be a promotion with Mario Theme.

Honestly, a mario/luigi alone would be like $40. The pieces in the starter kits aren’t worth that much. It’s a better deal to get some bricks while you’re at it. No way would the mario/luigi cost $10 with all those electronics
Can't wait for this! And fingers crossed they'll be releasing an interactive Princess Peach figure soon
Hmm... It's nice but I was hoping for a 2 player game mode or something. Hopefully we'll learn more with the full wave reveal.

probably you're thinking about the Mario Bros mode that is included in every Super Mario Advance game, and every New Super Mario Bros game - that's actually a remake of the original arcade game Mario Bros
I do like the look of the new functions, and since it's double VIP points today I went ahead and pre-ordered. I hope we get a Princess Peach electronic figure next year!

How can lego stay in buisness if they make no money? Seriously the design is very creative and I got First Pack, Fire Suit & $10 Target GC for $47 around easter. 20% is a frequent discount on lego offered by target, walmart, & amazon. So if y'all dont want to play for a plumber you can always wait for pipes to break.
Me I am waiting for remote control mario karts I will be buy luigi also.
I didnt buy all wave 1 but I got what I liked. Because the SYSTEM is fun...
More boxes to sit on shelves and gather dust? Great.
Well, it doesn't look like he can interact with Mario. And the set's as expensive as the Mario starter set, so I probably won't be getting it. Shame, I wanted that pink Yoshi. Maybe they'll do more different-colored Yoshis in other, cheaper, sets.
