By in United Kingdom,

Thought we might get a little pot of succulents first, but this is nice too.

Looks lovely but seems a little pricey compared to 10280. I'd personally prefer just the flowers and put them in a glass vase if it means more affordable sets.

Hah nice.

My dad used to have a phrase, which was said as a kind of blessing, like after somebody sneezed:

"May the bird of paradise fly up your nose!"

Just as when you buy normal plants, I never buy pots with the plants, because everyone have a lot of them from previous plants and it increase the price ;)

This plant looks a bit dark to me, but maybe when we see it in a different light I might change my mind..

By in Canada,

Great. Except even the original flowers seem to be made of unobtainium, not ABS.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

It includes a vase/pot! Amazing!

The plant itself though, not really my style

By in United Kingdom,

Ooh, dark green Technic panels!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Many more pieces in the set than I would have guessed. Interesting!

Such a long wait for those of us across the pond. Ugh.

By in South Africa,

I must admit that I did not know the name “Birds of Paradise”, I’ve always known it by its botanical name, “Strelitzia”.

It is a beautiful set and I appreciate that they include a pot. Although the leaves seem to be upside down?

(NB - location is South Africa, not Germany)

By in Belgium,

^^ Careful with the piece count, looks like there might be a lot of shades of brown and tan 1x1 round plates used for soil in there...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It’s nice. But £90? Can’t help but feel they’ve possibly increased the price due to the popularity of the other 2 sets. I don’t see how it’s twice the price of the others if that’s not the case....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks stunning, but the price is a bit of a shock. I guess the large technic panels making up the main leaves are driving up the price? I mean, there's 32 of them, so if they were £1 each to make...

By in United States,

Surprised at the price...and the piece count for that matter. It doesn’t look like it has that many pieces to it. I was able to get the bouquet one but still can’t get ahold of the 40461 tulips and 40460 roses

Gravatar
By in France,

Some 1x5 plates, on the pot ?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The pricing seems completely unreasonable for what you appear to get.
Quite curious if the review will change my perception of this set, because for now all I can see is an ugly bunch of leaves that don't hold a candle to the other set which is half the price yet twice as colourful and diverse.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I really like it! Not exactly cheap though.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

1173 pieces, but I think a large part of those will be 1x1 studs in the pot.

By in Australia,

Wondering why you are relying on another site's box image if you're publishing your review tomorrow? Surely you already have the review sample set in hand and taken photos already?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yep, another LEGO attempt to poison their own well by ramaping the prices up on a line that had some early success. Utterly ridiculous.

If we get a succulent I am buying it for my mother ASAP.

Because I'm mates with Richard :-)

Not impressed. Especially for the price.

Agree on all counts. Rose and Tulip have been temporarily out of stock all year and I refuse to pay ridiculous 250% aftermarket markup to get them.

By in Serbia,

A bunch of leaves and the simplest of vases, almost 1200 pieces for 100e, yeah no thanks

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a disappointment. Not impressed with the build and the price is a joke. Outrageous!

Gravatar
By in Viet Nam,

Why do the designers keep using unappealing drab shades of green for the leaves in this Botanical theme? Same situation with 10280 :(

Um its called advertising! There is a link! lol

By in United Kingdom,

£90 but $100???

Gravatar
By in Canada,

100% nope, and I'm a big fan of the original two.

Not only this build is pretty boring to look at with only 3 flowers (sorry, the green ones are just "add-ons"), but we need to pay so much more ? The forced flower pot was unnecessary, unlike the Bonsai tree stand which is integral part of the tree, and was sold for much less.

By in United States,

Amazing - I'm sure this set will sell quite well and it will irritate the naysayers. The design is really cool and $100 for almost 1200 piece set is fine.

As long as there are people like you who fall for large number of pieces to justify a totally inflated price, sure, even a set as drab a this will sell.
In case you hadn't noticed, a large chunk of those 1200 pieces are 1x1 plates as soil in the flower pot.

Why would it "irritate the naysayers" ?

Gravatar
By in United States,

$100 for a fake plant. No thanks. If I want a plant for decoration I would get a real one with real practical use and one that would grow for a fraction of the price.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow. My grandfather, who was born in South Africa and lived there for the first part of his life, just passed away last week. Seeing this today after the funeral, though it is but a coincidence, I can't help feeling it is appropriate. I might end up having to pick this set up for that reason alone.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bonsai has been on backorder in the US for almost all of 2021, what's the deal with this line?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@jsworpin:
They don't have a license for Muppets in Space.

@Tatsuya:
Doubtful. The pot facets are 6-wide.

@blowing_chunks:
If they have to wait until tomorrow to post a review, posting their own box photos could get them in trouble. If they find the image on a retail site, it's fair game and no worries.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I've been saying ever since the botanical series debuted, that a bird of paradise would make a great addition to the collection. I can't believe that I was actually right!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

There’s actually an image on Promobricks with the set displayed, and it actually looks huge in comparison alongside the Bonsai, so it seems like it will be worth it.

Your eyes deceive you (as did mine). They are 1x4 plates with 1x1 rounded tiles on each end.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I think we can call the new series Ikebana instead of just Creator Expert.
