Super Mario character pack series 3: new images
Posted by Huw,
Images of the next series of Super Mario characters, 71394, have surfaced on the UAE pages of LEGO.com.
Once again, there are ten to collect and each character comes with a small display base.
The figures in this series are: a Galoomba, Parachute Bob-omb, Boo, Crowber, Amp, Torpedo Ted, Bony Beetle, 1-Up Mushroom, Scuttlebug and a Swoop
I believe they are due for release on 1st August.
Thanks to Robert at Promobricks for the news.

It great to see how they're able to capture the essence of SM characters. I especially love the shy Boo and Amp.
Even though I really wanted minifigures a year ago, the design is really starting to grow on me and has made me forsake the "I'll skip this theme" policy I had.
I'm wondering if the Torpedo Ted will make the (rather inexplicable) high price of bullet bill drop a little as they are so similar.

Apparently there's going to be a Bullet Bill in the upcoming Lakitu Heavenly world (71389). That should make the price drop considerably, if they're using the same prints/barcode.
it's getting out of hand.
Interesting that the bat is labeled as "Swoop" - I believe that the correct term in-universe is "Swooper".
are they still $5?
Is it wrong that all I want out of this series are the 1up bricks... and only to throw them (jokingly) at others and yell "GET A LIFE!" :D
They are digging deep... I don’t recognize many of these!
I wish they’d done a brick-built Mario for display. That’s the big omission so far.
Would like to see an Albatoss at some point.
The bob-omb is cool.
@johnarne:
I’ve seen conflicting reports on this. First, I heard that every enemy had a unique barcode to prevent you from just stomping on the same character repeatedly until time runs out. Then I heard that the barcode stickers are indeed different, but the barcodes still read the same, so Mario can’t tell the difference between two Goombas while we can see that the image in the corner is in a different pose. So, the sticker should be unique, at least to the extent of having a different pose depicted in the corner, but if it functions the same, it should drive prices down. If it doesn’t, it will at least provide a cheaper alternative, if only because it’s in a much cheaper set.
