BrickLink Designer Program: second chance to secure sets
Posted by Huw,Don't miss out on the second, and last, chance to secure four of the BrickLink designer program round one projects!
5,000 more copies of Sheriff's Safe, Pursuit of Flight, Kakapo, and the Great Fishing Boat are being made available for pre-order today, at 12:00 PDT / 21:00 CET / 20:00 BST.
This time there's a limit of one (of each) per household, so they should last a bit longer this time round, but it's probably a good idea to get your order in ASAP.
You can view the four models after the break then place your order at BrickLink.

Last time I was stuck in an endless loading loop for Bricklink for almost half an hour, let's hope this time it works...
Will make one attempt to get the Fishing Boat. If the site doesn’t work will forget it.
Love the Kakapo but it’s hard to justify buying something that won’t arrive for almost a year.
I was lucky to get the Fishing Boat during the first round.
Good luck to everyone who is trying to get one of the sets this time.
I'm really struggling here with justifying giving BrickLink any of my hard-earned money.
The first time was so messed up, and I don't feel that in the end, they did right by their customers, us.
I'll spend the next few hours deciding, but right now I'm leaning more toward a "screw you, I don't want anything to do with you".
just saying guys, the chinese copycats produce as many sets as there are people wanting to buy them... i don't like buying stuff from pirates, but if you tease me with something that i can't buy just because i have a life an can't stay online on very specific hours just to buy a toy, i will switch to them
Missed out on the Kakapo the first time round and I figure it will go nicely with 21301, so I'll be warming up the card for this evening. I actually don't mind paying a long time in advance, because when it finally arrives I will have forgotten about the cost and it'll feel a bit more like a present...
I believe you will only actually being charged once the set is shipped. So, if you 'pay' now, the money will only actually disappear some time next year. Might mean you need to leave some extra money on your account all the time...
Got the safe back then and decided not to buy any of these sets last time (even though I could have). I hope I'll stick with that decision tonight :)
Still can’t buy over here… The world is larger than the US and Europe.
Can anyone confirm that there is no charge until the set is actually shipped? I'd love to secure a copy of Great Fishing Boat, but funds are tight at the moment. Although, I'm sure there would be an initial "pending" transaction which would deduct that amount from the avail. balance of one's account... Which would lead to marital disharmony... yeah I want it but I don't "sleep on the couch for two weeks" want it.

Never pre ordered a Lego set (or anything for that matter) before?

This is correct! It will appear as a pending transaction for a few days but the money will never actually leave your account until it’s ready to ship. This is what happened when I preordered in the first round
Her is my take on this.
Lego: let's not produce anymore of the set that everybody seem to want and sold out double what we allocated in mere minutes and let's double the production run for those sets where the demand was not as important. This is the most legogical way of doing things right?
I do assume that some people inside Lego went to school at one point in their life but I just don't understand their operational choices.
I would have bought the Castle. Best of luck to everyone who can now buy any of the remaining sets if they missed out on the first wave.

Thanks for the info. sir! I will have to consult this possible purchase w/my accountant/wife...
Are they going to do more of the Castle in the Forest, the one that people want most and the one that they messed up the most when they tried to sell it the first time, or are they just hellbent on frustrating us even more?
Why is there a limit. I can see a minimum? But if there is enough interest the overall cost is already covered not? I just don't understand how this whole thing is run. As mentioned above who has time to set at the computer at a specific time of day only to be denied.
I preordered castle in the forest last month - I got a confirmation email and it was showing in ‘My Account’. Money was taken straight away. It was then refunded to me on 1st August and the pre-order is no longer showing on My Account. Waiting to hear back from customer services but interested to hear if this has happened to anyone else?
coincidentally opened this article at about 20:01. Registered for Bricklink, bought Pursuit of Flight from BL and a couple of other sets from Lego and turned up a pair of trousers before 20:15.
Don't know when I'll be charged. Don't really mind: it's a nice idea and worked well today.
I understand fairness, but still frustrating on missing out on the Forest set because of website malfunctions and then sold out once I can log on to it...
But what are you going to do...

Money was not taken from your account, LEGO doesn't charge until the item(s) ship. Any charge you saw on your bank or card account was only a temporary check to make sure your payment method is valid.
As for the order in your order history. It may be listed as the previous day (June 30 instead of July 1). My own order history still shows my BrickLink pre-order in there. If yours is truly missing, contact LEGO customer service and maybe they can help.
Interesting that there are 22 comments here. Is it because people generally only like to pile on, do you think? Could folks have been turned off by round 1? Or is it because everything worked and so no need to say anything?
