I put an order in for the boat, and it seemed to actually go smoothly. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I had the same experience. I was very worried everything would slow down, but it was smooth sailing to get the boat.

It's too bad the fishing boat didn't count towards the minimum $200 for the sailboat promo. Still happy to get a second chance for it though.

Definitely not the craziness of last time, castle must have crashed it!

By in United Kingdom,

Same. Got the boat. And, like RoboticBrick, found it a pity (and a little ironic) that it didn’t count towards the sailboat. Ah well.

Couldn’t use a Vip code for free Earhart plane but went smoothly…glad I remembered

By in United States,

Got a boat and sheriffs safe. This time Lego seems to have recognized that I placed an order. Last time I got an order through for the safe while there were still about 1500 left, and it didn’t sell out until hours later. I never got a email confirmation though and Lego claimed my order fell into a bucket that went through after it had sold out and canceled my order. Basically something else went wrong and they just chose to lie to me. When I asked them to tell me when the last order was placed that was homered so I could see where mine fell with respect to it, they went silent and would not tell me anything more.

By in Canada,

Ordered Fishing Boat and order is showing "in process". Having not pre-ordered from Lego previously, is this the normal status?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Surprisingly, very smooth this time. I picked up 1 of each.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Boat and Kakapo ordered. Very glad it's not due until next year.... Much too much Lego ordered in the last few days!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Everything went smoothly for me here in Canada. I was also able to add a Bricks and Pieces order, a copy of 40460 Roses, and a VIP code for 40450, Amelia Earhart Tribute to my order.

40460, Roses, is virtually never in stock here in Canada. It just happened pop up as "Recommended For You" when viewing "My Bag". After successfully making the purchase, Roses is now out of stock. Maybe I got the last one?

My bricks and pieces order was already setup and ready to go in my bag, before adding the pre-order for the BrickLink Designer Program.

Yup, same. I tried adding a few more towards the threshold. Oh well.

By in United States,

Got the boat. No problems.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

And...... the boat is sold out in Europe.

orders seem to take a little time to get confirmed by mail/in the 'my account' tab.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Whew, got the boat. I was was worried because of work, I was about 5 minutes behind in ordering. I got it ordered...it was the set I wanted most.

Then I decided to splurge and grabbed the other 3 too. Bummed I missed the castle (I was literally on a plane...that had been delayed several hours)...it was the set I wanted second most. But que sera, sera. I'm happy to get the boat...and the others as a bonus.

I know it's under the normal €55 threshold for free delivery but believed what it said on the bricklink page

I ordered it on July 1st and they also charged me for shipping. I haven't called in to CS yet, but others who had the same problem have said that they will cancel the shipping fees if you call in. As I'm waiting for some PAB and BAP orders and they almost always leave something out, forcing me to call in to CS anyway, I will wait until those orders arrive and call then.

By in Estonia,

A few minutes ago, the boat was sold out for Estonia, but available for Finland. Sweden. Ireland. Netherlands. USA. Mexico. Well, most of the countries the'd ship. Wondering what the allocation for us was, two copies? One? 100 for the whole Eastern Europe? Since there aren't that many AFOLs here in Estonia...

Was thinking this too but found on the Bricklink FAQ that even though delivery charge will appear in checkout and on invoice it should be deducted when they take the actual payment when it is shipped next year

The Fishing Boat is sold out for the Netherlands as well now. I ordered one in the previous round already, together with the Castle and Pursuit of Flight.
The other three are still available apparently (I added them to my wish list).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

of course not, they could just ship it out straight away like they sometimes do if you backorder a set and there's a GWP; I've got the GWP on its own before the rest of the order arrives in the past

I always have a very full wishlist so just threw one of those sets into the basket in the end!

Half the sets are sold out again already. Sigh.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Debating on whether to get the Kakapo. I already preordered the ship, so I'm not sure if I should spend that steep...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I must say having been frustrated with missing out last time and even more annoyingly the Safe wasnt sold out , just sold out in my country this time it went well. I didnt think to add to my basket so ive paid for delivery but it was worth the stress of not missing out again. Only minor issue for me was i then decided to buy the kakapo 10 mins later and it went though ok, but took another 10 mins to show on "my orders" such that i wasnt convinced id ordered it. All looks good now though.

By in Italy,

Done!

Had a PayPal issue, but eventually landed the boat with another credit card. Anybody else had problems with PayPal, just out of curiosity?

BTW, boat's almost reached 10k orders!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I ordered the boat at about 10.20pm UK time. The little bar looked very close to 10,000 redeemed, but the first time I tried it said it was sold out in my country. Tried again and it worked. Can't imagine it'll be available for much longer.

PayPal is not recommended as they do not allow reservations longer then 30 days. So the order itself will be fine, but they will cancel the authorization after 30 days so Lego cannot charge payment next year and will cancel your order.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I ordered the boat at around 10 past 9, everything went through, it said order had been confirmed. Appeared in my order history. Sold out at 20 past 9 in my country.
Until now I haven't received a confirmation mail and the set has disappeared from my orders. Between 10 and 11 pm some others seem to have been able to buy the set (some even two if those orders don't get cancelled).
So this apparently is another great example of the dysfunctional shop system TLG is employing and this time it has cost me my chance to get the boat.

Edit: In my credit card account €109.99 have been reserved for a Lego purchase yesterday...

You don’t know this to be true so you shouldn’t be panicking folks. The program clearly states that it is following the LEGO Shop’s payment methods and LEGO clearly accepts PayPal, Apple Pay, Credit Cards And Gift Cards. LEGO May very well encounter issues trying to charge folks 6 or 12 months from now on any of these methods. I have confidence that they’ll figure something out much like they’ve done for me previously during the pandemic with long delayed BnP orders.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm trying to get in touch with LEGO customer service to ask, but seems like they're swamped at the moment, so I'll try asking here... According to the BDP FAQ page, the order isn't charged until it ships, which for Round 2 orders shouldn't be until June But, I ordered the Boat and Bird, and got charged for $230. It still shows as pending on my bank, so I assume it'll just drop off and not actually charge until around that time? Because if not, the FAQ page lied, and $200 is a lot to be out for almost a year of waiting.

For me if there's ever been any issues with processing the payment on a pre-order or backorder, they send me an email to call and provide another payment option. I've never had one cancelled.

Not saying it couldn't happen, just hasn't been my experience so far. I'm in the United States...in case it varies by country.

But it is true, Paypal won't authorize payments after some amount of time (30 days sounds right).

As a general rule, most companies do not charge you until the ordered material is shipped. Additionally, credit card companies usually disallow the practice outright. But it is possible if the details are clearly communicated to its customers.

With regards to the BLDP, any pending charges should drop off. If they don’t, I would recommend contacting LEGO who will then issue you a credit and likely VIP points for your trouble.

By in United States,

I really appreciate LEGO listening to concerns and making the additional quantities available. I was fortunately able to order the boat and safe this time around.

The castle would have been nice as well, but I’m hopeful the demand is recognized and additional large castle sets eventually are released.

Yes, I don't take the current payment method as any more than a check of your current ability to pay. I fully expect to have to update the payment method at the time of shipping. Between PayPal time limits and credit card dates expiring, not to mention people moving house, I suspect a large percentage of orders will have invalid payment methods by the time they are ready to ship. The chance of them all being cancelled is zero.

When I preordered Razor Crest in May in the UK for the May 4th promotion and paid by PayPal they weren’t able to take payment when set finally released months later. They contacted me and I was able to change the payment method. Lego aren’t going to cancel these orders without people being given a chance to provide new payment details.

Then I hope for all of you, who have been able to buy something, that this really is the way it works. I wouldn't take it for granted with TLG's abysmal online shop.
I'm just off the phone with customer service and just as I already suspected my order has disappeared and can't be accepted now as the boat has already sold out.
The rep wasn't really helpful, he only said "These things can happen."

I'm having the exact same issue (with Paypal involved), and some others too. I took a screenshot of the onsite order confirmation. I really hope the servers didn't mess up to leave us empty handed.

Well, try calling them anyway. At least you've got an order number, which I didn't because I didn't take a screenshot. I don't know if they can help you (probably not), but at least you can let them know about his problem and they could (however unlikely that is) improve their system for the next round.

The exact same thing happened with my boat. Sadly, customer service couldn't help as the order doesn't show up in the order history. So I hate to tell you this, but you will very likely not get the boat.

By in United States,

Looking at the order page 24 hours after the second wave started, it looks like they would have been better off to re-open sales of the castle instead of the safe, flight, and kakapo sets.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

So glad that Lego limited sets to 1 per household. Could have maybe done two in case people wanted one for two children or adult and child. But it went so much more smoothly. I do think some of this is because the hype of the first round sales has died down, and also the release of so many sets here in the US on August 1 + brick fares and cons are back in action, so people are starting to buy less as they can get out into the world again. But it was a much better buying experience.

Missed the boat in the first round, but was able to secure before it went out of stock again.

I put my order of the boat via PayPal, got the confirmation in the page saying I would receive an email, and also got confirmation email from PayPal. But after 20 hours no email from lego nor does it appear in my orders. Very concerned, would be really disappointed by Lego if they fail at processing an order.

I had the same problem, even called customer service (they couldn't find the order in the system) and wrote an email to tell them to get their act together in the online shop (but only this morning, so of course no answer from them yet), and 5 minutes ago I got an email confirmation for the fishing boat!
