The next Architecture set will be New York's United Nations Headquarters. Images popped up on mysterious flickr user motayan's stream overnight.

Interestingly, there was a discussion in the forum way back in January about it being a likely future model.

By in United States,

Very cool how we were tipped off about it. The model looks great; particularly the use of the turntable.

By in United Kingdom,

This looks amazing, but I fear I will go insane trying to make all of the small levers point perfectly upright!

The tower looks 1 stud wide, would that need new pieces (1x1 brackets) to fix the tiles to the sides, or do they already exist?

^Neck brackets?

By in Australia,

I hate the UN; it's far too left-wing.

@scrumper, they already exist. One of them came with the clockwork robot in series 6 of the minifigures to attach the key handle to his back.

Maybe it's just the angle and the main section is 2 studs.
@Huey1, they are the thickness of a plate in the picture, the ones from minifigs are thinner.

By in United States,

You can see a terrific version of the UN complex in the new Brick City book. And it has the flags.

@Scrumper-

They are 2x4 tiles on the side, can't you tell? Look at the top/right. The piece up there, definatly not a 1x1.

@Huey- no, the piece in the Clockwork Robot has one hole for a stud in top, and one stud on the side. The pieces here are dynamically different.

^ It's hard to tell but it looks be only one-wide.

Interesting.

This is actually pretty cool. Though I loathe to imagine how fiddly those "antennae" flagpoles will be...

By in United Kingdom,

Seriously, could they think of no building more interesting to model than the UN? Gimme a break...

By in Puerto Rico,

My Mass Effect 3 MOC will now be complete (evil laugh). Now to make miniature Reapers.

By in United States,

It is a tricky angle, but I would say it is definitely two-wide. And I would agree with KLF about the brackets used. At that angle it looks wider than a 1x, but narrower than a 2x. With that said, I would say it is a 2x only because there are other 2 wides on there.

With that said, the building itself is cool, but I will definitely pass. It isn't as iconic as some of the other builds and I don't see myself using a lot of these pieces for MOCs of my own.

I like the clever use of the antennae for poles though. I like the architecture line with their scale, but I'm not a completist.

I really don't like these Architecture sets. I love the massive buildings and monuments such as Tower Bridge, the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal. But the Architecture sets are just too small, blocky and unattractive for my liking.

Ugh, the flagpoles will never stay straight. I like the face of the building though.

I will go crazy lining up the flagpoles. I dread this aspect of a must buy.

Looks two studs wide to me.

I don't have any architecture sets, but I do think this looks pretty cool.
