Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 6

Posted by ,

I was impressed with the grille which appeared yesterday, although something more obviously relevant for the Avengers would be splendid on day six...

Let's see what comes next...

Tony Stark does request an American cheeseburger upon returning from his captivity, so this detailed cheeseburger arguably satisfies my wish for something relevant to the Avengers! Regardless, the dining table looks good. I like the red and white tablecloth, while the burger includes excellent colours. The printed burger bun from LEGO Scooby-Doo is missed though.

Overall - 3.5 - This model looks splendid and its vibrant colours are appealing, but this Advent Calendar would benefit from theming more directly-relevant to the characters.

This advent calender sure is something different at least...

Me and the boy both liked this one.

It definitely seems to be an Iron Man accessory, so it's probably time for a new character to be revealed tomorrow.

If they stick to the one minifig-two days of accessories pattern, then we're due for a heap of figures by Christmas Eve.

I see this as the Avengers enjoying a lovely Christmas day barbecue.

Not feeling very Christmassy off this

I always like the huge Lego burgers, this one is a winner in my book.

Any food item in LEGO form is great. And Thor needs his burgers.

Big fan of this one, very much fits the holiday vibe, Tony is absolutely a party drinker :P

I swapped the bright green rounds out for bright green 4 petal plant pieces. They look more like lettuce. Fun little build!

Every day I’m more and more glad I didn’t buy this advent calendar. Or any this year.

I guess this really is an Australian Christmas.

I found this a little flimsy and wish the tablecloth were more secured with two 1x3 dark bley plates on the sides. And putting a 1x2 brick under a 2x3 tile works, but it's not the most secure connection. Oh well.

Tony's an alcoholic, so I hope the glass is for water.

Um, it’s a cheeseburger. This made me cry. I just remembered the scene from endgame between Morgan and Happy. I absolutely love this.

Tony wasn’t an alcoholic in the movies and isn’t in the various animated series, so there’s no point in bringing that into a LEGO set for children when it’s likely very few children are aware of comic-book Tony’s problem.

Review from my child this morning: "Oh yay, gee, another 'food thing', second day in a row. Can't wait to see what we get tomorrow. Maybe some ice cream."

He then walked off and didn't even open the plastic baggy.

This is probably Gamerverse Tony from the Marvel's Avengers video game, particularly given the one-piece helmet.

MCU Tony wasn't an alcoholic, but he did get pretty drunk in Iron Man 2 right before his fight with Rhodey. This was a pretty obvious nod to his comic problems.

This is a very unusual calendar. I'm not sure what to think of it.

Maybe. Tony thought he was dying, so he threw the party and got drunk to convince Rhody to take the suit; that was an act. Being an alcoholic is something else, entirely.

@ResIpsaLoquitur:
The glass is bone dry, so clearly it was not water.

@MutoidMan:
I believe I said right off the bat that I was going to imagine this being part of the Toy Fare magazine’s Mego comics. In those, Tony has a beer can surgically attached to his hand.

I think this Calendar wants to recreate a post credits meal scene with the Avengers. Maybe a shawarma build soon? ;) I don’t mind these last few builds, but I hope there will be more specific Avengers / Marvel themed builds.
