Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 23
Posted by CapnRex101,
After waiting for three weeks, our first seasonal Star Wars character appeared yesterday! Grogu may benefit from additional accessories and the infant's Mandalorian protector next.
Hopefully today satisfied that need...
Grogu's hover pram has never appeared in minifigure-scale before, which is surprising given its prominence onscreen. Nevertheless, I think this design looks great, accurately capturing the rounded capsule shape and accommodating the Child on a 2x2 jumper plate inside. The pod cannot close, although I think including such a feature would be impossible at this scale.
This colour combination of light bluish grey and red originates from later episodes of the series. These colours are slightly more festive than the white and yellow version, but I think the earlier variant is more recognisable. Fortunately, the relevant pieces are available in white and yellow, so you could purchase them inexpensively to assemble both hover prams!
Unfortunately, the model lacks any connection points on the underside, which makes displaying the pram more difficult. I cannot envisage a solution to include anti-studs underneath though, without spoiling the shape.
Overall - 4.5 - The shaping of the hover pram is excellent and Grogu appears fittingly cute when placed inside.

Grogu had a hover pram in the Brickheadz pack! But this would make it the first minifig scale one, looks delightful though!
yeah this + my brickheadz one makes two prams ^_^
no connection points on this one, but it balances nicely without any
That's no pram. That's a space sled!
I've got a good feeling about this...
Surprised it’s taken them this long to make the pram at minifigure scale

Good point; I had forgotten about the BrickHeadz. Thanks!
So these colours do have a basis on the show then? That's good, all I could remember was the off white pram
Oh, there are ways to make this “hover”. If you want to keep it 100% stock, use clear parts to just prop it up. If you want it to have a stable mount, swap out one of the rail plates and replace it with something that adds a clip to whichever side isn’t visible from the front.
Deep breath.
...
I HAVE TO PUSH THE PRAMALOT.

Ha ha, very good!
Cuteness overload....
Fun. Even though I knew it was coming, this one put a smile on my face.
