Cute set, let's hope the price is reasonable

By in Ireland,

I adore this set! I love encouraging rebuilding and customising characters. I also love the references to the books here with the house hour glasses!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Has Ginny got a new skirt piece?

Gravatar
By in United States,

If it has pieces to make it the right color for every house, it's probably gunna be like $50

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Quite like the print used for the carton of beans

Gravatar
By in United States,

New lid on the chest!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Ooh, this is super cute! May have to add this to my wish list.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pass the black and yellow tiles, I'm going Hufflepuff on this thing...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A lot of cool new things in this set: Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, black skirt piece, torsos with house scarfs other than Gryffindor, new owl colour and print, flat lid for chest, another Marauder's map piece. Will definitely try and get this provided it's not too expensive.

By in Brazil,

awesome sets i want

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Hopefully not just a GWP! I'd buy it eventually.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks good, and I'm liking more hufflepuff and ravenclaw torsos, something we've been quite lacking. I really wish the HP line would do less named characters and more generic students. would really like 4 house themed 'battle pack' style sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that a sand blue owl? I thought it was dark grey at first but I'm pretty sure that clip is dark grey and the owl looks different to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Loving the new chest/trunk lid! Crossing my fingers we won’t have to wait too long to get this new option in reddish brown.

Certainly appears to be sand blue to me!

It's new in the colour, but it first appeared in the Trolls line.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Don't care about the Hogwarts stuff, but looks like it's a generic enough build to be fun for creating other rooms.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m not really a Harry Potter fan (I just haven’t read the books or anything), but I really like this set. I think it’s a great concept that would work really well with other themes. I love the vignette style sets, like 76200 Bro Thor’s New Asgard, and I think I’d be cool if LEGO would make some more unique sets like these.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

A bit weird that it’s a bit like a hogwarts common room, but with a bed in the middle?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ginny looks fantastic! The minifigs are great.

I believe its supposed to be 50 dollars

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Trying to work out who the student characters are. Ginny is obvious, and Harry goes without even mentioning, but the other three aren't immediately ringing any bells... or are they just unique student designs, not based on anyone specific?

In any case, were I still expanding my 75954 Great Hall scene, these additional students would have been great to populate it some more. As it is, my interest in HP has waned lately - and my Great Hall is in pieces in storage currently anyway - so that's far less likely to happen now. Still look like nice figures though, in any case ^^

"Well it is certainly magical how it opens and the back of the chest disappears without trace. Or does it have no back in the first place?"

I think the furniture can be re-positioned inside to create a back much like the class-room books. The way it hinges and the studs on the middle tiles suggest this.

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

I wonder if they’ll be providing extra pieces to recreate the scenes shown in the promotional video…

I certainly hope so.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Oh no! Another €200,- set I won't be able to resist!

I was thinking the same thing! Pity they didn't just went common room all the way...
Now it looks like a bit of common room, dormitory and even classroom all in one.

Looking forward to the sticker sheet on this one!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This would make a great companion piece to 75952 .
I'm wondering if at least part of the reason for that new chest lid piece is Minecraft. It certainly looks a lot more like the chests in the game than the existing chest lid does.

When it opens up ... are we looking at someone's bedroom?

Ouch, that's a lot more than I'd hoped for. Ah well, there's always discounts if you wait long enough...

Going off the video Lego posted on their Instagram of this set it looks like it also includes Professor McGonagall, Luna Lovegood, Hermione and Cho Chang as well as showing other minifigs that could represent students. I assume the set will include one (or maybe two) torsos for each house as well as additional hair pieces and faces to make your own characters.

That mixed with the tiles included to change the house theme certainly looks like theres going to be lots of extra pieces so hopefully its still good value and has a low ppp.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like a nice set! Hopefully it isn't crazy expensive. Also, I know he's the titular character and all, but it would be nice if they included some more Gryffindor characters other than Harry in every Harry Potter set.

TLG reasonable, AFOL reasonable or KFOL reasonable...? ;-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

A trunk inside a truck. Now for the twist, there's a trunk inside that trunk inside that trunk! ;)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Sometimes I get the feeling that these latest HP sets have been Legos best theme. The new Hogwarts system was a weird introduction halfway through, but other than that, the sets have been very well designed, great minifigs, fair prices, lots of sets from most of the movies, and overall a well thought out theme. This set is no different and Im looking forward to getting it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No set number?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The video for it shows you can rebuild the furniture to be the great hall area, nice idea. Might be able to create other characters than what is shown too. Video shows some different hair pieces.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I assume the reason for those stickers are optional (set is customizable after all), but it's unusual to see those shapes of stickers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Did anyone know this set was coming?

It is the skirt from the Trolls world tours sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Effectively a common room, five cool minifigures with each of the house’s robes, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans! If it’s not a GWP I’m getting it, if it is than hopefully we arrange my brother’s set orders to fit the criteria— if getting a Harry set is required than I’m afraid that’s not gonna happen, though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

how many pieces is it?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just like with the Harry Potter playbooks, I wish they would use Lego pieces instead of relying on stickers - in fact, it seems like the HP line is relying more and more on stickers for interior details (see Hogmeades Village for example) . I know stickers are less expensive, but I'd much prefer having a couple 1x2 tiles or 1x1 round translucent bricks to represent books or potions because my daughter can actually play with those.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The new chest lid we never knew we wanted! Looks like a fun set or great parts pack :)

im Hufflepuff too, i keep trying for ravenclaw or Gryffindor but i get Hufflepuff every time so ive just accepted it now lol.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it like Prof Moody's chest? Seven keys, each of which opens a different scheme? Now there's a challenge for TLG's designers.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Cute set that reminds me a lot of some 90s toys like Mighty Max. I like the customisation options and new legs and skirt parts on the minifigures. It's also great to have characters from all 4 houses.
Now €60 is a pretty steep price, I don't think many people will use this as an "army"-building set unfortunately.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nine different heads and seven hair pieces? How long until the torsos get into the BAM stations?

Gravatar
By in United States,

You know, the Mould King not-HP "Magic" series is aesthetically superior to Lego HP and it gives zero dollars to Rowling, who can be charitably described as a "big jerk". I think we all have treasured memories of this particular IP but there are better ways to actually devote income (a fluid surrogate for power in our capitalist society) to plastic brick models of it.

No :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmm, no discussion on why the description says five figs but the images definitely includes six?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Could have done without the bizarre odd colored hair pieces but I'll be getting several of these. It will be interesting to see which parts become available on B&P.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it me or does that girl with pink hair look like she has a new skin colour?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

£55 is too much. Obviously priced to immediately go on sale with 20-25% off, making it seem like a good deal.

It's totally reasonable for 603 pieces including 6 minifigs.

I try not to go by piece count now. There are a lot of very small accessories and tiles. Just seems too much for the amount of "stuff".

Okay, I thought I was going crazy; I think you're right.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don't know if I'll have the funds for it, but I'd love to get four copies of this puppy in order to build a suitcase/room for every house and load 'em with custom figs. Could be really cute!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Huge play value and display value... goes straight on the wish list.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks like a great set! I would like to point out that you said it comes with five minifigs...I see six. Anyway, thank you guys for sharing the news!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Love the variety of minifigure parts! I might just get this if the price is reasonable.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Another great looking Harry Potter set. I should probably take a look at the books/films, so the sets I've bought so far make a bit more sense. Apparently Hogwarts isn't quite like Fenn Street or Grange Hill!

Are you actually RECOMMENDING Mould King on Brickset? I hope youre joking.

So apparently this isn’t a common room… still getting it :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Such a cool idea for a set! I've thought that a customizable student back would be a fantastic set for a while, and it seems Lego agrees! I feel like this will probably have pretty good value for the amount of spare minifigure parts and different colored parts for the exterior. But would it have killed them to include a shot of the full set inventory? I'm really curious just how many heads and hairpieces are included. Also, I love the new skirt pieces and double modeled legs! Although I'm going to have to get so many extras to replace all the students I already have! I wonder if we'll see a similar setup for the older students moving forward? Only cmf Cho had a skirt, all the others have had plain legs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this the first time they’ve made fleshie minifigs that don’t represent real people or characters played by live actors?

@historynuts:
@LuvsLEGO_Cool_J:
@ThatBionicleGuy:
Ginny? Do you mean Hermione?

@Apedemak:
They did have a blister pack with torsos for all four houses, but the hands were fleshie, too, so hand swaps would probably be required. By giving these torsos mittens/gloves, they neatly avoided that issue, even though I don’t recall anyone except maybe Luna wearing them in the movies.

@HugeYellowBrick:
Never. The torsos are licensed.

The initial image, when the article was posted, was this one instead - https://jaysbrickblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/LEGO-Harry-Potter-76399-Hogwarts-Magical-Trunk-Set.jpg - which showed Ginny, along with a different set of head/hair combinations for some of the other students, and didn't directly mention that many interchangeable options were provided. Since the official release images turned up, however, that one was removed and replaced with the current pictures... which is fair, but makes the earliest comments look rather confused without that initial context!

@Trigger_:
This appears to be _your_ Hogwarts journey. The minifig part selection isn’t about giving you a pack to build random Hogwarts students, but to build _yourself_ as a student of any of the four Houses. There’s part of the Great Hall, with McGonagall taking you through the Sorting Hat ceremony. The other room appears to be _your_ dorm room, presumably with alternate parts for the comforter.

@rishi_eel:
Again, they did a student pack that had one torso from each House. The only issue is fleshie hands, so you’d have to swap hands to make them match whatever head you were putting on them. The plastic skirt is from the Trolls movie sets, and the dual-molded 3-stripe legs element was created for Bart Simpson.
