March 2022 sets revealed in German consumer catalogue

Posted by ,

Stone Wars has obtained images of the January-June 2022 German consumer catalogue which reveals a number of hitherto unseen sets scheduled for release in March, including more City Space sets, Hogwarts Moments, Ninjago spinners, Friends animal welfare sets, Creator 3-in-1 and Technic.

I'm not going to replicate all of the images here, instead I encourage you to visit Stone Wars to view them, but I have posted a few highlights after the break.

More great City space sets. I think every set in that sub theme looks like a winner.

Creator is a bit…average, compared to that brilliant tiger.

By in Sweden,

I was certain that moon rover set was something super vintage, and yet I was baffled by the helmet pieces which looked so modern... I guess that's bad magazine picture quality for you!

By in United Kingdom,

On first look, I'm rather underwhelmed by that lot. Certainly nothing that stands out as a must-have.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

On a more serious note: two new Harry Potter books! My only HP purchases, and I almost regret them, but now I need those two new books to complete the set, obviously.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I rather like the new space sets that are coming, the rest of it is kinda meh for me though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the technic stuff, aside from the latest control+ entry. Should be interesting to see the flip on that work though, the roofline appears to be above the treads.

Creator is fine but nothing standout to me. The little robot has a bit of Mazinger about it though

By in Singapore,

Definitely getting 31125 for the purple parts, possibly getting 31128 for the red crab (I know my 31084 has it, but I want another). I can't help but get Sonic the Hedgehog movie vibes from 31125 because in the movie canon, Sonic was raised by an owl named Longclaw.

OMG THE NEW DOTS SETS!!! 41950 looks like a new version of 41935 with 2x2 macaroni tiles. The new, flat bag tags look kinda cool, and it's nice to have something less bulky than the existing bag tags, but I'm not sure they'd be a fit for me. Think I might get 41951 just for the lavender board, but it remains to be seen exactly what kind of element it is — is it a large plate? Is it a specialized element? One would assume the frame comprises separate elements.

New door frame in purple in 41699! More double doors in 41695 and 41709!

New marine-themed Classic set 11018! 11017 is reminiscent of LEGO's Small Builds for Big Conversations online safety campaign. New functions set 11019, which I may consider picking up since I skipped 10712.

In the catalogue there's a teaser for the Lego Skywalker Saga game, saying it's coming spring 2022. I like how they're questioning if that's actually gonna happen.

Both message boards seem to be constructed with 16x16 plates as the base - 2 in case of the purple one, 4 for the blue one. A frame seems to then be build around it to hold it all.

Thanks! You're right, I looked closer and noticed the seams. Definitely getting 41951, then.

41949 appears to have letter tiles included, making it a cheaper alternative to 41938 and it seems to come with more letter tiles too!

I think new Creator sets are pretty swell.

Not so hot on Space ones. The rover is esp. ugly. Is it a sticker on the flag and vizors made of "Kinder Surprise" capsules ?

You're comparing 10 euro and 15 euro sets with something that costs 50 euro.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Is that an owl reading a book to a hedgehog?

I don't know about the Creator animal sets ... but oh my gosh, I must have that Super Mecha robot.

Maybe the robot is there to fight the weirdly-literate owl? And it's like a combo set thing?

By in Netherlands,

I’m actually quite interested in the new large canopy piece for those gimmick spinners. They seem to be a lot larger than the old Airjitzu ones and fully rounded too. Very curious to see how the top will connect, I’m afraid it’s yet another new connection but we’ll see.

Also that owl is extremely reminiscent of some very old kids’ cartoon show (pretty sure it was done with dolls even) that my parents used to watch back in the day. It was about an owl much like this telling stories to other animals in the forest about this place called ‘Fabeltjesland’ where animals were in a society and such. It simply cannot be a coincidence that there’s a book with the owl, LEGO couldn’t have added such an odd specific detail if it weren’t for source material demanding it. Does this sound familiar to anybody else?

Also the brand of chainsaw in the Technic all-terrain vehicle is… well, I don’t have words for it really. Have a look yourself haha.

By in Singapore,

The new friends sets are AWESOME! I’m a big fan for the most part and I can wait for them to hit the shelves on March! Especially that small set where we can get ethan! (Cheapest set ever with a bou Minidoll) Dots is rocking for March too!

Okay…Creator sets look average compared to similarly priced Creator offerings from previous years. That wizard owl is no cheeky monkey, pooping parrot or mighty dinosaur.

Say what you want, I love the purple owl. <3

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don’t know what a gelandefahrzeug is, but it looks cool.

Also more SPACE! is always a good thing, though it seems like the wheels on that rover are going to go all over the place. The minifigs look great, though, and that four stud backpack piece looks awesome.

I think it's the same — it looks like 2 sets of 36, which is the same amount that's in 41938.

They're not the same as the Art sets, but it looks like the sides are made of the same 1x4 piece introduced in 21057 in tan, plus a matching new 2x2 corner piece.

At first I thought it was another Creator rover. The style and color scheme is so different from the last City Space theme I'm not sure if they will fit together.

I would prefer if they made a new Space theme - the last one, Galaxy Squad, was in 2013.
If they're releasing new City Space then I suppose we won't see that for quite a while still.

By in Belarus,

In 2022 dots set 41942 will have transparent blue 1/4 CIRCLE TILE 1X1 (25269 Tile Round 1 x 1 Quarter) for the first time. Interesting will we have more of transparent colors in future? wish we will have all dots sets here.

It is Classic Space! No factions, simple colour schemes and sets based around space exploration rather than battles. Admittedly, slightly more realistic renditions than 80s space, but I’m sure I can remove the visors and cockpit windows and give them all walkie talkies!

I went there, and frankly, the most interesting thing I saw was a flying owl that’s not white (or gold). Not to disparage the rest, but variety of flying owls is something I’ve had on my mind quite recently, as I think I figured out how to pose mail owls carrying letters on a layout,

Honorable mention goes to the purple book...

I'm afraid it's not. It's still labeled as City and the rocket in 60351 has a NASA logo.

By in Brazil,

Creator looks amazing for next year. Loved the jet, the turquoise car, the mech and the owl (along with the already known tiger). Technic also got some great sets. And the City Space sets are truly impressive.

Disappointed that we got nothing of Speed Champions or Star Wars and very few of Ninjago in that catalog.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am glad City Space is finally moving away from another launch site and into more expandable habitual moon colonies in 60350 (following the numerous submissions on Lego Ideas), with those fantastic new quarter hemisphere trans blue roof pieces. Although I would have preferred a normal slide up garage door rather than the Technic Landrover wheel arch so that it could be closed and more easily used in other builds. The side living quarter pods also need to be a little larger, as although a detailed lab or spacesuit changing room they seem very cramped even if it meant losing the drone and trolley.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the look of the new space sets but 60349 Mond-Raumstation looks to be heavy on the stickers? I reckon I can see (and assume replication on other side for some) about 15 stickers and I suspect the astronaut backpacks might have one each too? With three different solar panels I doubt Lego are going for any of them as printed parts.
Also I wonder about connecting the last batch of space sets to these new ones? I would be very dissapointing if it's not possible.

Really seems like we're witnessing the classic space origin story.

I'm not really hot on any of these sets. Space are fine overall but the rover is kind of ugly...and not in a charming, utilitarian sort of way. The autonomous logging vehicle (?!) is a really weird subject choice, IMO.

The space sets look decent enough. The last space sets did too and I still skipped them. Too many sets to buy, not enough money.

I don't see why Lego decided to split up the Ninjago sets. I'd get it if there were a decent amount of them or if they were divided between subtheme like they did this year (with Legacy in January and the Island sets in March), but the only stuff releasing in March this time is one set that connects with the Dojo releasing in January, plus those three spinners.

Because (Classic) Space was it's own theme with sub-themes. Similar to Castle, Pirates, etc.
I guess you could say Classic Space has it's own Lego Dimension.
Of course, this would make 70841 part of the Lego Movie Dimension and not Classic Space.
Hmm...

Love those space sets, and most of the Creator sets look fun too. The Technic ATV and the small telehandler also look like fine sets with decent functionality for their price.

I actually do quite like the Control+ set too, looks like a lot of fun to play with. But the price alone (and the fact it doesn't come with a remote control included) makes it a rather terrible replacement for good old 42095 Stunt Racer. There's just so little to justify that €50 price increase....

When you look up that phrase, the first six pages of Google results feature nothing remotely associated with AH (I didn't check past that, but my money's on it being really far). It really, really seems like this is just you reading super into it, and I can just about guarantee that 99.999% of people wouldn't associate him with that quote at all.

"Deemed" is a weird choice of words, given that the Osprey was licensed with Bell and Boeing, two of the world's biggest military manufacturers. To the best of my knowledge, this orange Creator jet does not share those licenses. Neither were any of the previous fighter planes or VTOL crafts that Lego had produced before. It seems glaringly clear why those were allowed and the Osprey wasn't, and it escapes me how we continue to have this discussion

"So LEGO cancelled the Osprey Technic set, because it was deemed a military set, but now go ok with that 31126 fighter jet? I'm missing the logic behind their choices."

Military-styled aircraft in a real-world warfare setting are off-limits, but high-performance aircraft with much implied overlap with military styling have been allowed in airshow colors since at least year 1996, set 6331, name Patriot Jet, theme Town. There have been about a dozen brightly colored fighter jets in City and Creator in the last five or six years alone.

Who in the forest would ever be reading a book, but the “wise old owl”? My brother had a kid’s calculator/math training device that was shaped like an owl.

Actually, the Dutch one was reading the newspaper. Thanks for pointing out that it's normal for owls to read books ;-)

Like the look of the City Space sets and the blend of NASA and Classic Space logos is a nice touch - and I think the closest we are going to get to a Classic space range in contemporary Lego. Would though love to see crater sets like 305 released with a modern twist but think that’s one for Bricklink.

I love the plantlife coming out of that Ninjago Training Grounds set.

That Super Mech seems interesting. Based on the colors it looks like you fuse the plane and dragon builds together to make the mech rather than it being a 3-in-1, but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

Those Classic sets have a helicopter with the Power Miner's color scheme and a micro Viking Longboat. Pretty neat!

Never collected Jurassic Park/World but new color dinos is always a plus!

Looks like a great chance to catch up on the 2021 sets I have not been able to get. And pay off my aching credit cards.

Btw, the catalogue does not mention an owl. It says: Waldfabelwesen, German for: Forest fantasy creature.

Really liking this new space theme. I did expect a space shuttle instead of the smaller space station but I'm not complaining.

Those space sets look great but Im baffled as to how these sets are part of the city line... I'm not sure they will look right next to your police station and town center...

That 31124 Super Mech...Isn't that basically Mazinger?

Hogwarts Moments sets for Trelawney’s Divination and Mad-Eye Moody’s Defense Against the Dark Arts? Yes, please!

The hospital wing set looks a little less impressive, but it’s hard to tell from a single pic.

"I’m actually quite interested in the new large canopy piece for those gimmick spinners.

Have a look yourself haha."

Yes! Meneer de Uil was the first thing that popped into my mind! So cool, I grew up with that and I'm totally gonna build a blue version (even though purple is my favorite color, haha).

"I don’t know what a gelandefahrzeug is, but it looks cool.

Also more SPACE! is always a good thing, though it seems like the wheels on that rover are going to go all over the place. The minifigs look great, though, and that four stud backpack piece looks awesome. "

I thought the same thing but took a closer look at the legs and the front leg/wheel looks like it might lock into place...there's a small opening where it looks like something would snap into place. I do like both Space sets...the rover is nifty.

"More great City space sets. I think every set in that sub theme looks like a winner.

Creator is a bit…average, compared to that brilliant tiger. "

Hard disagree. The tiger (and Christmas penguin) launched me into a love for brickbuilt animals and I'm so excited for the dolphin and owl. Probably gonna get 3 of the dolphin and at least 2 of the aquarium.

Kind of worried the Tiger's gonna be an unrealistic standard now. Not much is ever gonna compare

Only thing I'm not 'crazy' about: what's with the Space Logo's 'look'...is getting pricey to print 'gold'. And yes, know there've been 'mods' to that logo (Intergalactic Girl uniform is slightly different, as is the Space Miner...), but in 'overall': Gold w/Red...I mean: it's on their uniforms...
