This is a nice surprise! Brick Sketches are one of those set types that are neat, but I can never find them in stores.

These look awesome.

They should do a Spider-Gwen that's just a color-swap of the Miles design.

By in United States,

So good to see that these aren’t dead!

By in United Kingdom,

I really like the parts usage/neat technique on the bottom of Miles's hood. I don't think these sold well, they had to lower the prices of the first wave, but I think they are a bright, colourful addition.

They're cool, but I'd rather spend the $16.99 on something else- might pick up the iron man if its ever on sale

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

expensive, but nice parts packs!

So you can do it by yourself:)

By in United States,

Wow! These are a testament to level of skill, artistry, and imagination of the designers. There’s always something amazing being created with LEGO.

By in United States,

These are really good. I mean design wise…just excellent.

Problem is just cost and expectation. I think it’s difficult for people to look at what it is and say…yeah I can pay 17.00 for this. Doesn’t have any minifigure hook or anything else that’s THE get. I’m not saying it appeals to no one, that’s not what I mean….it’s just not in that “WHOA I gotta get this” kind of category.

Could be…if it were ____ price. What is that price point? Hmm…my opinion? Ten bucks. 12 max.

Gravatar
By in United States,

these look fantastic! I won't be picking up either, but still, fantastic.

By in Brazil,

Had totally forgotten this theme still existed.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No way, I totally assumed these were dead.

I think they're neat, but I like they're a bit of an odd fish. Display set says 'collector' to me but the low price (compared to eg the Art sets) says 'kids'. I don't think I'd ever buy one, except maybe as a stocking stuffer, but there's much more fun sets to be had for the price. I appreciate the clever builds, but that's as far as I'd go.

Are people crying out for small 2.5D images of their favourite superhero? I'd rather have a BrickHead

By in United Kingdom,

Four of the first wave are currently in the sale on the Lego UK site. 40% off - £9 each.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice! These are good alternatives if the Art series is out of someone's price range.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think he mouth on the iron man is a bit off, but I like these and hope they make more!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I'm glad Brick Sketches are still being made, and these both look pretty good. I prefer these to the Art sets because of the more interesting ways they use pieces rather than just being entirely single studs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not for me, but I have to admire those Iron Man eyes. They seem to really glow!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Best ones yet. But I thought Lego would have learned that nobody is buying these for $17. They even put the first wave on clearance! Inflation or not, these are not worth $17.

Gravatar
By in United States,

How is that red piece connected to the hood ties?

That's because I think they're LEGO.com/Lego store exclusives

I like the one of Miles. Excellent.

I assume those pieces are 24201, inverted 2x1 bows.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are so much better than the previous ones imo— both in colors and price point. Still not something that interests me that much but not everything has to.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is there any chance that the image included in the main Brickset articles could be the box picture and not just the standalone image? The box is ALWAYS crucial to how the set appears and will be perceived in the long term, as well as conveying piece count and size info. Other sites do this by default, I always have to go to the image albums to get the box pic because when I'm sharing news of a set I want people to see the product they're actually gonna see on shelves rather than just the item in the white void.

By in Poland,

I love them, and maybe ona day when a character I care will be made I might get one... so much better than the flat one stud things...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No interest in these 2, but glad to see the theme is still alive. Got 4 of the previous ones and will get more if interesting subjects surface.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Maybe they just need to make a book with these designs in it. Just like those ideas books from the 80ies. I mean they look fun to make, but not to buy

Gravatar
By in United States,

Two more fantastic pieces (I'm assuming by already legendary designer Chris McVeigh)! I like the brighter, more comics-style coloring for Iron Man—the azure and white used for the eyes look great against that bright yellow. And I love the subtle angles for Miles' mask and the great detailing on his hoodie, especially the tiny pull-strings dangling off the edge of the "page"!

That looks right. Thanks! I'm still desperately looking for plates with studs on both sides, like the old Palm Frond bases. :o)

oh it's the same again, it's same again ...

I wonder how many years Lego is going to cook up the same motives in new forms over and over again. I wish they would new ideas, not just iterations.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If making the bigger ones. Nice for kid make along side with you...
Not me.. But their cute..

Gravatar
By in Australia,

So they’re still doing these? Not complaining about these two though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll have to get the Iron Man one to display beside that other Brick Sketch of a comic-book billionaire...

To be fair this style of building was created by an AFoL who was hired by TLC, and allowed to create his art as official sets. I think that these are some of the coolest sets LEGO makes. I just haven’t cared enough about the characters they’ve done to spend 17$ on them. Miles may have just changed that.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

That Iron Man looks great!
I don’t even watch all the superhero movies, but I’ll pick that one up (hopefully on discount) to go with the masterful Joker from a couple years back!
Great parts usage, bright & vibrant, and a fun build if you don’t have hours for one of the larger sets!

So *you're* the reason LEGO has been killing off some of their original themes after only 1 or 2 years!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those are insanely clever. I love the depth created here. And two good choices of characters. I thought for sure this theme died since they were all discounted. Neat to see them back again. I still don't plan on buying them, but they turned out really well. Maybe if gets discounted enough I'd consider the Iron Man. Very clever with the subtle gaps.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

This is, what Lego art should be. Be creative within the medium, don't just do boring pixel art.

there must be something in between killing an idea after one year, and coming back to batman, ironman, Star wars, disney-whatevers in new forms again and again and again.
I like the building idea a lot, as I like helmets, as I like brickheadz, as I like art, as I like Playsets, as I like afol sets, ... I'm just so bored by the same motives they are doing with each new form ...

By in United Kingdom,

Lego has raised the bar with these two brick sketches, the others were good, especially Batman, but these are brilliant! ??
