Supercar lovers can now place themselves firmly in the driving seat of Ferrari’s latest masterpiece with the new LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3. This 3,778-piece model is packed full of details and functions that embody the engineering prowess and elegant design of the unparalleled sports racer.

To capture the essence of racing spirit at the heart of the Ferrari brand, the new 1:8 scale LEGO Technic model boasts a functioning 8-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifter, a V12 engine with moving pistons and striking silver lacquered rims. Fans can get even closer to the action by recreating the Ferrari Daytona SP3’s elegant design and sleek aerodynamics as they build this traffic-stopping red model.

A pair of working butterfly doors open to unveil the sleek interior with a perfectly recreated cockpit with the prancing horse logo resplendent on the steering wheel, adding the final touches to this visionary model.

This fourth addition to the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept series measures over 5.5 inches (14 cm) high, 23 inches (59 cm) long and 9.5 inches (25 cm) wide when fully built. Proud owners can get even more immersed with the build by going to www.LEGO.com/Ferrari-Daytona-SP3 for exclusive content.

Speaking about the showstopping model, Niels B. Christiansen, LEGO Group CEO said: “This model is a testament to the pursuit of excellence that lies at the core of the Ferrari and LEGO Group ethos. No detail has been overlooked in the design and as someone with an engineering background myself, I’m blown away by the attention to detail and precision of the model at such as small scale. We’re incredibly lucky to be able to partner with Ferrari to help fans turn their dreams into a reality as they build this standout example of racing excellence for real with this new set.”

The LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 will be available from June 1, 2022 exclusively from LEGO Stores globally, then in many retailers worldwide from August 1, 2022.

For fans that want to get even closer to the action, Ferrari and the LEGO Group have opened their doors to give supercar enthusiasts a sneak peek behind the scenes of the model’s design in an exclusive coffee table style book.

The book delves deep into the innovation and engineering excellence that unites both brands and takes a closer look at the collaborative process of conceptualizing, designing and producing the model, featuring interviews from LEGO Group and Ferrari designers and third-generation LEGO Group owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen on why the model means so much to him. The LEGO Technic Daytona SP3, The Sense of Perfection coffee book will be available exclusively on LEGO.com globally from June 1, 2022 in an exclusive print run of 5000 copies.

We'll add additional photos to the set details page when they become available and publish our review later this morning.

By in United Kingdom,

Will the book be a GWP with the first 5000 copies sold on Shop @home or a VIP reward similar to what we saw with the landspeeder prints recently? Thanks

No, I don't think so.

By in Australia,

I love the look of this Ferrari from the side … not much at all from the front and back!!
I was really HOPING to love this one, so I could justify spending $500+ (after discount) here in Australia!…. Now, I’m not sure I want to
:(

At least in the U.S., the Chiron ( 42083 ) has been retired for several months now.

By in United States,

I like it, but it doesn’t have the same wow factor the others have. Can’t figure out why

This has a great profile! Which will make it nice to display along side the others. I wish they would have done a label plate for the others as they’ve done here.

So nice, but so expensive. Even the book is £69.99!!

By in Turkey,

As good as this looks, and as complicated as it is, I wish to see an original Lego design, where we can still see the interior workings of the mechanisms. Having less covering parts and no license may help with the cost. Also new functions can be added, like self opening doors as in 8448, or adjustable seats as in 8860, or better yet motorized functions as in 8070.

And maybe sets such as this can be carried over to the Speed Champions theme, coexisting with the 8 stud cars (a la Racers theme from 2000's).

By in United States,

Beautiful, but not something I can justify at the price. Wish I could at least get a copy of the book to console me!

Part of the trouble for me is that a Lego gearbox that really has that many different speeds needs to be huge, and if it's made compact enough to fit inside a chassis it's also impossible to appreciate even before it gets covered up by the bodywork! The classic sets @Lego_lord mentions really hit the sweet spot for me, and still do.

An unpopular opinion falling on deaf ears, but I detest the continuing glorification of cars in society.

If you're in a region where this will be discounted by at LEAST 25% on Amazon and you buy it RRP because you "must" have it before others, in the sort of William-waving contest that cars come down to: congratulations! You're exactly the mug whom LEGO are looking for.

I think cars should go after cigarettes: Ban on commercials and a big black rectangle with "Cars are deadly" on the brochures and on car dealer stores, with images of fat bellies, varix legs, dust lungs, roadkill animals, smashed cyclists.... Cars are the number 1 dead cause in 2022. Mostly indirect: lung diseases, obesity and diabetes, general lack of exercise resulting in heart failure.

Back to this Ferrari: no matter how well Lego succeeded in making a model of this car: the Ferrari itself is 100% obnoxious. Never seen such an ugly hypercar (well, maybe the Veyron is in for a tie).
