By in United States,

Cool, but 40% overpriced. Geez

Gravatar
By in United States,

$170 for 1022 pieces? Hard pass

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

that AT-TE looks really damn small and the justifier really damn big. I feel like the 2 price points should have been swapped.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now people can shut up about Phase 2 Commander Cody

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ooooo Justifier looks great, bit higher price than I’d like but that’s just to be expected every set now.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I wonder how Lego will justify the price of the Justifier.

Cody looks very nice (despite being a mix of animated and live-action clones like all the recent ones) but the new holes on the phase 2 helmet don't look good at all. Wish they only used that helmet for Cody and maybe later for Rex. Even then, Rex's antenna should be attached to the existing circular protrusions on the helmet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

AT-TE is a must, the Justifier... is not. Hilarious that the $30 cheaper one has more minifigurers and pieces.

Like the posing that looks possible with the AT-TE, putting the mid leg forward or back. Minor forward titl may be possible, though I doubt it. Not a terrible price either, when compared with 75157.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Both feels like so low value for money. :’/

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why would the justifier $30 more expensive yet has fewer pieces than the AT-TE...not to mention the AT-TE is more attractive to me and is a more iconic vehicle, and has more minifigs too, and good for building an army. I know the justifier has some unique figs, but still...Even the AT-TE is overpriced, but 1000 pieces for $170? That's a new high even for SW...

Gravatar
By in Austria,

They look OK-ish...but those prices are ridiculous. Cad Bane's Justifier is NOT worth 170€. Not by a long shot.

But now at least people can stop whining about "Phase 2 Cody"...
...although I'm sure they'll immediately come up with something else to start throwing tantrums about ahahahah.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ok, this is the AT-TE that I’ve been waiting for! Lots of clones, and the right kind of variety. Several plane, one commander, and a pilot. I love both of these. I hope we get another set with Cad Bane based on BoBF.

I'm not complaining. Happy to ignore the Justifier for the AT-TE.
Can't wait till Brickset gets one for review and we can get a detailed comparison to the previous version.

Was thinking the same thing, Don't know what the Australian price is yet but based in the USD price, they will be about $200-$230 probably which seems a lot for the size????? Will have to see as they both look really good!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Day 1 purchase on the TE it’s so awesome!!! Justifier is good later purchase though. Both perfect!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

We're on a roll with the insulting Lego Star Wars prices this year. The ride never stops.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why, in the behind-the-scenes look, was the color palette on the desk blurred out? As for the sets themselves, "The Justifier [of these Prices]" is a hilarious title.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The 212th troopers and Commander Cody are nice. I'm glad the AT-TE can actually carry troops this time. The Justifier is very meh, especially for that price and PPP. Props to those Bad Batch/Cad Bane fans who want it, though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

1022 pieces for $170? Ballsy move.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

1000 pcs for 170 EUR. Funny when you consider the price for Modular Houses range.....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So.... the AT-TE has more minfigs, more bricks and cheaper than the Justifier?? Thats crazy Lego!!

Justifier - Mini figures makes it more expensive - CAD Bane I guess

Disney tax and some!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man I am just glad cw fans cant complain about not receiving sets and ESPECIALLY no more complaining about Cody.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Odd choice to have a TCW Ahsoka 501st Trooper on an Episode III 212th Clone set's packaging.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice battle packs. Everyone will by the Justifier for Omega and the AT-TE for phase 2 Clones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Good thing there's VIP points to spare.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The designers can sit there and talk about how great their sets are at LEGO CON, but they HAVE to know how overpriced The Justifier is... and with only 4 figs.

@CEO_OF_LEGO said:

You do realize that neither of these are from CW right?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The AT-TE is definitely way better bang for the buck. They probably should have revealed this stuff first, the Castle and Space sets killed em

Gravatar
By in United States,

Both seem pretty good. The AT-TE looks a little stumpy, though its the same size as 75019. Maybe it has to do with the size of the feet? The Justifier also looks good, but I hope we get more shots of the interior. If all we have is in the cockpit... yikes. And the prices for these are really bad. $110 for the AT-TE and $140 for the Justifier would be a lot more appealing, though still high.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's a lot of money for a Fennec Shand helmet.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Anyone else here excited to see Phase II clone helmets with accessory holes in them?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Love the look of both, but those prices are definitely high...and just wait until we see the cost for the Canadian market!

Edit:
I am thinking that the price variation between the two sets might be partly because of there being larger parts/plates in the Justiifier set vs. the AT-TE.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Justifier looks amazing, but that price is awful. AT-TE has an okay price but it looks squished, like that 2010 AT-AT with less than 800 parts.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Ugh, the Justifier looks like a Lego set from 2008.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why is the $170 set more expensive when it comes with less figures and pieces than the $140 set? That doesn't add up.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Wow, these latest Star Wars sets (with the exception of the duel) are all tightly and well designed.

BUT AGAIN; those prices are absolutley atrocious.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Probably will get the Justifier when it goes on sale… seems like a decent build and I love that Cad Bane and Todo 360

Gravatar
By in Romania,

There really isn't anything to justify (pun not intended) that huge size of the Justifier. It's a very niche vehicle. It could have well been the same size and price as Thanos' Sanctuary ship.
Lego seems to be making more and more large and expensive sets, leaving gaps in the lower price segment.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Day one purchase on that ATTE, one of the few lego sets i'm actually exited about lately :D

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Estimated without looking 120€ for the ATTE, but 140€ is just a bit too much.. But the ATTE looks AMAZING

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Ouch, while both 75323 and 75337 seems like quite good sets (never mind the price) but 10305 and 10497 absolutely blow them out of the water. Another masterstroke by TLG to come around to Star Wars sets toward the end of the event...

I got back into Lego because of the Star Wars theme a little less than ten years ago but find that I am increasingly drawn toward other themes due to the often vastly superior combination of set design, price and - for lack of a better word - pure enjoyment factor of many other themes.

While both 75335 and 75336 look both interesting and good value for a present day Star Wars set I am unsure of whether I will buy them before many other sets from other themes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Omega and phase 2 Cody! What a glorious day for Kamino and therefore the Galaxy

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Maybe I don't get something. I understand inflation and all, but previous AT-TE was praised at $90. If you compare the two, the design is largely the same. The new one is priced at $140. Really? That's similarly sized AT-TE, Umbaran MHC, and you still have $10 to spare in 2013.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not familiar with the source material, but that Justifier looks rather old school, like a set Lego would have released at least 15 years ago. And that price....though I have to say, the size looks rather respectable considering the piece count. But the thing that annoys me the most: that blue pin! Why oh why?!

AT-TE looks okay, not much more to say about that one.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Getting the AT-TE eventually, when it's got a healthy (AKA at-least-down-to-what-RRP-should-be-from-the-start-price) discount. The Justifier's price is just laughable, guess I'll be missing Cad Bane again.

All in all announcements today as expected for me - Sanctum Sanctorum too expensive, cool Galaxy Explorer but not my cup of nostalgia, amazing Castle but too big and expensive for me, no interest in Avatar/Minecraft, absurd Justifier and the one SW set I've been waiting for for months.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They both look great.
But... £150 for a thousand-piece set? Nah!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are cool, but they're both about $40-$50 more than they should be, so I won't be getting either of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I could be wrong, but is the Justifier a new high mark for price point on a “regular” retail Star Wars set? I don’t think we’ve seen higher than $160 to this point.

Regardless, it looks like the price increases that were reported on recently are hitting the SW theme. I can think of no other reason that would explain these prices. Both are must-buys for me, but I’ll be waiting for some discounts.

Yes, but the set is based on Ep 3, and not CW. So while it’s technically from both, it still would be nice to get some CW sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

the justifier should be $100 and the at te $70

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The price for the Star Wars sets is really getting out of hand. We're now getting close to the 200€ mark for a regular set that is basically another lump of gray plastic with very little usable space.

I guess I'm just going to be way more selective when it comes to Star Wars sets from now on...

Because it doesn't have a problematic name.

Gravatar
By in Mexico,

Is it just me or does the AT-TE looks just like almost every version of it? I was expecting new details but so far looks just the same.
I love the innovative techniques we can see in the Justifier like those angular wings

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

It's sobering to see how we adapt to these price increases. Many above mention how the AT-TE Walker looks decent in price in comparison with the Justifier, while it is clearly already overpriced itself. That's probably even the aim of the LEGO Group. And it seems to somehow work. Well played, well played...

The 2013 set has around 300 fewer parts than the new one. The inflation adjusted price for the 2013 set is $112. The new set has 20% more parts and costs around 27% more in the US. Some of the increase in price can probably be correlated with the increased Minifigure count. It’s still higher-priced than I’d like it to be, but it’s not egregious in my opinion.

Hey UM guys Lego has Not given US the REAL FANS what we really want, and that is Commander Giggle Bush of the 420th Legion! HE appears for two seconds in The Clone Wars Season 5, and is the MOST crucial character in the entire STAR WARS Saga. Go TELL LEGO NOW we need him, and don't forget to smash that like and subscribe button below!

Seriously though, I love the Cody figure; and the sets look cool... but $170 for The Justifier? Starting to think it may be time to give up on Lego Star Wars and find a new hobby with that kind of price tag.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These two sets reveal the absolute joke that is LEGO/Disney Star Wars Pricing.

These two sets have almost the EXACT SAME piece count, yet are arbitrarily priced at $140 and $170. AT-TE technically has more pieces and more minifigs, yet is priced $30 lower than Justifier for no apparent reason.

Looks like some Disney executives were sitting in a boardroom throwing darts at a wall for prices..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this some kind of stress test for exactly how much Star Wars fans are willing to pay for grey colored lumps with a couple of desirable minifigures??

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ Because of course any two Lego pieces have exactly the same value, so PPP should be identical for all sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That’s straight up BS. The Justifier is ridiculously overpriced. But when you throw in those minifigs….that’s how you attempt to justify the garbage price. Hopefully it shows up at Costco.

I agree with everything you said.

I'm shocked that these prices are not inverted. Usually, Lego tags us for the iconic sets from the movies they know many of us want (and probably want duplicates), like the AT-TE. They usually give us a break with sets from the animated or lower-budget, more-obscure series (e.g., Kenobi and the Scythe).

This doesn't make much sense, especially since Fennic and Hunter are duplicates. Th Unjustifier is looking to replicate the expensive failures of 75315 and 75286. I will definitely wait for a massive discount on the Unjustifier.

The AT-TE, on the other hand, is value-priced by comparison. Yet, it is an expensive army-builder remake with little difference from 75019. Perhaps that is why it's not $160?

Gravatar
By in United States,

As others have said these prices seem inverted. I feel Lego massively over estimates the "truly hardcore" Star Wars fanbase. No casual fan wants a small 1002 pc Justifier for that price, and probably 1/2 of them wouldn't even know what it is! Glad the AT TE price stayed the same as expected!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The Justifier is quite ugly but that minifigure selection is top notch.

Gravatar

I wonder if Lego will actually include extra hair pieces for Hunter and Fennec Shand. If they want to charge 170, there at least shouldn't be silly compromises like missing hair pieces.

Do these clones have the same visor (eyes) design as the 501st clones? It looks closer to the old style, which I’d prefer as they would go with the 212th clones I already have from 2014, but I wish Lego would make up their mind

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was looking forward to the Justifier cos I thought it would be a cheaper way to get Fennec with the helmet, but shockingly it’s MORE expensive the the Imperial Light Cruiser.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I really like the Justifier, just not the price - seems out of whack, and the AT-TE was always an afterthought to me (just not a SW vehicle I particularly like), but nice set for those who do.

Glad to see Phase 2 Cody, it will make a lot of people who love mini figures and SW happy - and honestly, the fact that its included doesn't hurt anyone, so not sure why people need to be quite so arrogant about its inclusion with the "shut up comments" - bit sad really.

By in United States,

Echo conspicuously missing from the box art…he’s just getting trolled at this point lol

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I do like this year's rendition of the AT-TE, its great to see one back on the market - However, price point aside, its far too similar in design to the 2013 version (which I currently own). There seems to be a growing trend of LEGO just rehashing sets rather than designing something new for a different building experience. Still, the minifig selection is brilliant, so that's something at least!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The new AT-TE is just amazing - with 20% more pieces and price, they've managed to create a cheaper-looking set...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@cameljockie How would you design a new AT-TE, then? Aside from making the side armor from 45° roof bricks instead of angled plates, how different could it be?
I didn't get the 2013 version, so I'm glad to see this redone.

Don’t waste your time being annoyed by the “fans” who come here to hear themselves whine. Some people are just built to complain. It just shows there are many, many more people buying and enjoying these sets than there are people who come here to cry and yell.

I only want a Fennec Shand figure and - as I'm reluctant to buy one from eBay because I can't tell real from custom - at these prices, I'll have to do without. She's only in three of the premium sets - couldn't we get something at a low(er) cost featuring her???

Also thanks, Lego, for pricing me right out of the hobby. :@

How is it that people who supposedly detest negativity so much are the absolute nastiest sounding of the lot?.....

Because they are simply trolls without anything better to do.

Analyzing, critiquing, and offering opinions about new Lego sets is precisely why this site exists with comment sections. I too long for the days when things were much more positive. However, I fail to see how that is realistically possible with Lego's current operating strategy. Complaining about complaining doesn't make anything better.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

While I would agree with the 30% too expensive comments, for me the problem lays somewhere else:
the AT-TE is a good rendition of the original vehicle, just the original vehicle looks totally crap. this guy steering in the cage like a tram driver? the totally misplaced and oversized lasercannon? the ugly short legs? No comparison to the original majestic AT-ATs.

Seems the combination of Disney influence/raised prices/full bookshelves is driving me into my 2nd dark ages, and I am not regretting it. I ll be back for the Tie bomber, not earlier...

It looks different than the wide hat used for SW0285 and SW0497. The brim doesn't seem nearly as distinctive.

Is it more authentic? Perhaps. Cad gains and loses hats throughout his appearances in CW. They're mostly wide-brimmed except for the one he gets by killing one of the brother bounty hunters in the Cube. Also, there's his live action appearance in Boba Fett. That brim is much more narrow.

By in United States,

That AT-TE looks sooo beautiful! I’ve never had one before and am excited to get one, maybe even two if money permits. But my main happiness is because of PII Cody! So glad he’s been finally made.

Constructive criticism on the sets:

The Justifier’s price is extremely high both for the number of pieces and also the number of minifigures. Only 4 regular minifigures for a $170 set seems very wrong.

For the AT-TE, it is super cool it comes with 5 clone troopers but I would have rather them just make the 212th troopers and the gunner have the non-holed helmets because really, only Cody needs the holed helmet. Because they made all of them have holes, the 212th will stand out when lined up next to the 501st, 332nd, and 187. I just don’t like it that they won’t be uniform. The odd thing though is that they included the non-holed helmet for Hunter in the Justifier. ? Kind of questionable why they could include the old for one minifig but not the others. I can see some rationale for doing this, but I guess it will just take some time getting used to the new helmet. It’s not terrible though.

Overall, I’m hyped for the AT-TE set! I just hope Lego produces enough so that they are on shelves for more than 5 minutes.

I can see some rationale for doing this, but I guess it will just take some time getting used to the new helmet. It’s not terrible though..."

Get used to it, kid.

Lego changes trooper helmets all the time. The best is not to get caught up in the differences. It gets a bit difficult when they make the gigantic helmets on the stormtroopers that so large they resemble lil' Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet!

By in United States,

i know this is not very on topic but since the ambush on ferrix article no longer has commenting I thought i'd post it here

am I the only one who noticed that the ambush on ferrix ship just looks like the ucs at-at head with some little rocket boosters attached to it?
