90th anniversary mini castle set available from Walmart
Posted by Huw,American retailer Walmart is currently offering an exclusive mini castle set free with qualifying purchases.
The set, which features a microscale rendition of 375 Castle surrounded by a moat and perched on top of a craggy outcrop, can be obtained by making a purchase in-store or online at Walmart.com before 24th August, then uploading a photo of the receipt here.
I think it's likely that similar offers will be executed elsewhere in the world in the future, so we'll let you know if we hear anything.

(Sighs, runs to store)
Gah. And I just spent $40 at Walmart last week when I found the Hogwarts Hospital Wing marked down.
"Before August 24." Well, that rules out waiting until September 1 to get the Advent Calendars.
Looks cute... Might be the only castle I would have enough space for!
Cool! Hope to see it turn up in the UK too.
It has a list of qualifying products.
Someone on /r/legodeal said that it's limited to 12,500 of the promo. I don't see a source, but if true, that's really uncool.
From the Walmart website:
Spend $50 on any qualifying LEGO® building toy set(s) purchased at Walmart or qualifying LEGO® building toy sets sold and shipped by Walmart.com from 8.8.22 – 8.24.22, receive a free LEGO® 90th Anniversary Mini Castle Model, while supplies last.
Imagine this at minifig scale.. maybe in gray and not yellow :D
Approval process didn’t work online …
List of qualifying sets on site...oh look another county exclusive ...

It does say that in the terms and conditions on the website. www.lego90offer.com/terms
Obviously, RoW must get this too, right? RIGHT?!

Yeah but it’s 14 pages long.
Surely that’s the whole current catalog.
Is that a sticker or a printed shield piece?
Walmart is the Dementor of department stores. Slowly sucking the soul out of all who dare to enter.

Printed according to a Reddit post.
I have never liked the yellow castle's yellow color. Not something worth getting imo.

It's mentionned in the termes and conditions: https://www.lego90offer.com/terms
The conditions also mention: "Offer good in all fifty (50) United States and DC, its territories, and military addresses."
Well, it looks like I will not be getting it, then.
Weird they don't announce these things ahead of time. I was just on Walmart's site looking at Lego last week and no ad or banner at the top of the Lego pages to alert folks.
But I did get in my submission and a confirmation they received my 'receipt'.
Thanks Brickset for keeping us informed!

Got mine in too!
That printed (I must assume) tile looks cool and would go very nicely with my 60 Years of the LEGO Brick tile, too bad it's exclusive.
That doesn't look anything like me.

That would be amazing. Unfortunately, there is a little too long way.
Weird that I just did a Walmart.com order without even knowing about this. Just submitted my receipt!
Many people who have used the website for submission receive an error when clicking the final submit button. We also noticed that even with the error you still get a confirmation e-mail that your submission was successfully received. I was able to successfully take the smartphone text approach with no error before I saw the confirmation e-mails - multiple because I tried several times on the website.
Hopefully this does not cause issues but thought I would share.
Frustrated... ordered the Galaxy Explorer today when I heard about this but seem to get errors whether I submit my receipt screenshot through the website or through email.
It's not the end of the world if I can't get this to work, but it's still irritating.
Would be nice if that 14 page list of eligible sets was in some kind of order... by name, by theme, by set number, anything. Almost seems like they went out of their way to make it difficult to view.
EDIT: At least you can search using "Find" Ctrl-F.
This set is excellent, very cute!
I created a Google Sheet version so you can sort on all four columns - link here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ysf5kpyhkqx5XEWhOQxrH6tPWEOBQapxH7q-yKK417E/edit?usp=sharing
Forgive any mistakes, I converted from the original PDF into Excel and then copy/pasted into Google. I didn't make any substantive edits, just formatting. Hope it works / is helpful for anyone
(ETA: I will probably ignore any requests for access, but the settings should allow downloads)
(ETA2: I also did not link any of the sets to any external websites etc. That would take more time than I have to give on a workday!)
Just made a random purchase the other day of discounted sets. Checked receipt it was the 8th. Uploaded and got confirmation email as said above. And thanks for the quick spreadsheet. Awesome. All 5 sets were listed. Thanks again brickset for the heads up and everyone’s input.
i tried about 5 times and it kept saying it didnt go thru and to try again. Walmart is the biggest joke. No company should allow them to have an exclusive.

Whaaat???
*submitted* I just happen to have picked up a pair of 75955 on clearance at Walmart today. Too bad I got them on one receipt, or I could have let someone else claim one with the second, since they cost $64.00. BTW, for those who think sales of the new Hogwarts train will be negatively impacted by the continued availability of 75955, you may want to reread the first sentence in this post.
Very nifty. Already have the 60 years of brick promo set with the Yellow Castle, but this is quite nice in itself. Like the terrain. Not sure I like the claws atop the castle, but that'll be an easy fix.
Wonderous that we have a promo available at $50 though. Lego's usually so stingy you have to start at $65+ these days to get a common polybag, much less a unique model. Leads me to guessing that Walmart was trying to get some more interest in orders to compete with Amazon/Target.
I submitted my receipt from 8/6/2022. Not sure if they’ll accept it or not.
The one time people want a price increase. 49.99 not qualified.

Terms and services on the website is the source
At this scale they could make Classic Space, BIONICLE, and Pirate promos as well. Get on it LEGO!

Likewise. In my case, I tried twice with an iPad, and I received the submission error twice, without realizing that confirmation emails had shown up in my email’s junk folder. I made a third attempt on a computer and it went through.
Hoping my three submissions aren’t viewed as an attempt to get multiple copies of this freebie. I was just following instructions: the submission error suggested I try again on another device/platform.

I finally got a confirmation email after trying on my phone... attempting it from my laptop didn't seem to work no matter which browser I used. But putting in my address info didn't seem to work still, so hopefully the email I get in the next 24 hours about whether the receipt has been verified will allow me to submit that info.
I swear, people all the time give Lego grief for their website but dealing with this I appreciate the simplicity of "qualifying gift with purchase automatically showing up in your cart" over this whole rigmarole of scanning and verifying receipts on a website that barely functions.
I sent mine in via the e-mail address provided (wasn’t sure what to use for the subject line, so I just copy/pasted the offer title). Checked Inbox, Focused Inbox, and Junk Mail, and didn’t see anything after at least an hour, so I tried the web form. Timed out the first attempt. Second attempt I got through adding all of my info, and got an error message. Then I find a confirmation in Junk Mail. And then I found the original e-mail submission in my Outbox, meaning it never actually got sent.
But you know what they say about the third time, right? That’s the one that makes you wish you could have a five minute chat with the person who coded their system to let them know how badly it works, and that the next person who asks to speak to someone may request their boss.

Thanks very much, this was super-helpful!!
This sure seems like a convoluted process for getting a gift. However, there’s no reason I couldn’t buy a set, take a picture of the receipt, then go back in the store and return it. However, that’s a lot of hassle for this set, my time is more valuable than just Bricklinking the parts.
"Follow these 3 easy steps to redeem your free gift." Hahahaha, lies! Seriously, just add it to the cart like the GWP Lego does, why is this so hard?
FYI:
"Offer limited to one redemption per name, family, email address, or household. First 12,500 qualified participants will receive a LEGO® 90th Anniversary Castle Model."
Ctrl+F is definitely your friend on that Qualifying Product list, jeeze how are they so disorganized? Sets I noticed were missing from the list in a quick search (maybe Lego exclusives?):
All Postcards
Sunflowers
Roses
Easter Rabbit Display
Lovebirds
Dots Series 7
That was quick.
Got a ‘congratulations’ email saying my receipt is valid and that the mini castle will be on the way to me shortly.
Not sure how long but I thought I wouldn’t here back til the promotion was over.

I have to agree, unfortunately. When I was basically old enough to remember much, we had Ames, Magic Mart, Kmart, Big Lots, and Sears in a less than half-hour radius; and usually, you could find most of what you needed in one store in one trip. Basically all of these closed by 2018. Walmart was very rare unless groceries came into the equation. Now, Walmart's my only very close option, with Rural King being a bit longer drive.
RECEIPT UNREADABLE :(
I assume 49.97 won't count...

Same here, it's way past 24 hours for me and I haven't heard a lick back yet. I didn't have issues with sending the receipt and have an email confirming that it was received but nothing back at all. Genuinely checking my email compulsively about it, very annoying since I'm not sure if there's anybody to talk to about it.
@CathyVT said:

It doesn’t! I bought 75334, something I would never do at full price outside of this promo, and was told that it was an “incomplete order” to reach the threshold.
I promptly returned the set and purchased it again with the Speed Champions Aston Martin. I’ll probably return the Kenobi set on principle once the promotion has ended because that’s just not cool.

Just curious, did you buy in the store or online? I bought online and sent a screenshot. I also had no problems submitting and got the confirm email right away. I wonder if it easier with a screenshot. still no word back yet for me, though I am still in the 24 hr window. Either way, congrats!

I got my "Submission Received" email at 8:54AM CT (8/10/22) very fast when I first submitted it and still no word on acceptance or error. I did an online order and took a screenshot. I know its free stuff but i REALLY want this :)

Yeah, I did it online, took a screenshot of the receipt with the barcode on it.
@bubulka1
Yes, it was within 24 hours, roughly like 20 hours or less I'd say looking at the time stamp.
More than 30 hours from the initial confirmation email and no follow-up from Walmart. Seeing a lot of this from other users here and across social media.
Edit: Walmart customer service not helpful at all. Rep did not know about the promotion, so I had to share the link for receipt submission with them. They recommended I “follow the instructions and submit [my] receipt, and a Walmart rep would get back to [me] within 24 hours.”
How insightful.
WELL. I guess 12500 limit is already reached and Lego is sorting the valid receipts to select lucky people.
@NavyDave:
They probably need to see the barcode clearly enough that computer software can translate it and pull up the associated order. The barcode is unique to your purchase, and they scan it to start processing any returns you bring to customer service.
@Wellspring said:

Got an email back saying invalid purchase date.
29-1/4 hours after getting my “Submission Received” e-mail, I got the “PLEASE REGISTER NOW!” e-mail, which linked to a page where I entered my address, and triggered a “Congratulations!” e-mail. At this point, it says the set will be sent to the address I provided, so I don’t expect further communication.
after 31 hours submitting my receipt got an email saying its on the way! Bought online submitted, uploaded receipt via phone
Finally got an email saying the receipt is valid and linking me to a site where I could input my name and address (having failed to successfully do so when I submitted my receipt). Says it could be another 24 hours before that's processed and I receive confirmation, so hopefully I'm not too late to get one of the sets!
UPDATE: Got the confirmation email that I should be getting a castle!
I'm past 48hrs now and still no email. My submission had everything required and it even had the "barcode" others were referring too. Oh well.
I sent two requests because I got the error both times. I was about to attempt a 3rd when I got two emails saying they received my request. Last night got an e-mail saying the receipt was already redeemed (presumably the 2nd attempt), and 10 minutes later got the one saying the receipt was accepted but I needed to provide more information (name and mailing address). Then this morning woke up to the confirmation e-mail saying it's on it's way! I
Definitely a pain but glad it finally went through.
@bubulka1:
If you have a receipt dated 8/8/22 or later, with at least $50.00, pre-tax, in sets from the provided list, and you still haven’t heard back after two days, here’s what I would do. Resubmit the information using the provided e-mail address, and again using the online form, and again using the text message method. Make sure the barcode on the receipt is crisp and complete, since that’s probably how they’re confirming the purchases. If more than one submission gets through, it sounds like you’ll get approved on the first method, and any subsequent attempts will get rejected for the receipt having been burned with the first attempt. If only one method works, then you won’t hear about any repeat attempts, and there’s no way of knowing in advance which one is safest.

Receipt is perfect meeting ALL the qualifications (to include the barcode) via online screenshot. Resubmitted via online form (got received submission email back), submitted for first time via text (got received submission text back), email gives error (Your message to LEGO90yearsoffer @snipp .us couldn't be delivered. LEGO90yearsoffer wasn't found at snipp.us.). LOL....fun times....thanks for the suggestion.
Yay! 26 hrs after sending screenshot of online purchase I got the congratulations email that it being sent.
Got the set I ordered very quick. Just 2 days (when said 3 - 5 or so).
So good sign the freebie will come quick too?
@bubulka1:
Yeah, I ended up getting a Postmaster notice the next morning. There’s probably an irreconcilable typo in that e-mail address. I’d sent them a note to let them know…if I had any hope that they’d actually receive it.

"RECEIPT UNREADABLE :("
Gave up on website after 6th “try again” error message a few days ago. Did not matter which browser/device I was using. Then resorted to submitting photo via email. Later that night, I received an email that my receipt was unreadable AND six confirmations ??. No clue how or when we’ll find out if they sold out on first day. Like the rest of us frustrated with this mess, I just want one.
36 hours now and no further information - so much for "within 24 hours".
I'll be returning the set I bought to Walmart if I don't get the free gift so I can at least buy it from LEGO for points..
After receiving an invalid submission for my first request (see comments above). I bought and submitted a new receipt yesterday. I just received the valid confirmation email now, ~28 hours later. So as of now they still have stock.
I finally just got my congratulations email!!! So there's still some available it seems. This has been a 3 day event for me (see above posts) so for others still waiting, good luck :)
@Wellspring:
Considering how high the failure rate seems to be, it could take them months to actually run out. As time goes by, more people will just give up altogether on the belief that they surely must have run out already, so the pool of potential successes will dwindle regardless of how many actually succeed. And with a hard deadline approaching in a couple weeks, the pool will stop growing larger.
Waited 3 days. Resubmitted. Got error message. But another confirmation email. I guess we’ll see.
I added 2 items to my kart equaling $49.97. Does anyone know if tax counts towards this promo?

Has to be $50+ subtotal pre tax.
Just got my "Congrats" email! Would be nice if they'd provide a tracking number, but...
At 100 hours now, lol. This promotion is a joke!
I can't submit again either because it tells me I've already submitted.
@KaiserCoaster:
Hunt around for a confirmation e-mail. Most likely it got spam-filtered. Specifically, you need to find an e-mail with “PLEASE REGISTER NOW!” in the subject line, since that’s the one that lets you actually move forward with this process.
I wonder how long it'll take to show up so I can return what I bought.
@Capybara554321:
Be aware that, if they did use the barcode in the receipt to trigger this promotion, it may be flagged when you try to return the qualifying purchase. This could potentially result in a no-return policy being invoked, or you may have the ARV of the GWP withheld from your refund. The latter wouldn’t be a terrible deal if you really did buy stuff you had zero desire to own, but the former would suck in that same situation.

I did think of that. I did make sure to buy something I wanted but was planning on waiting for a sale.
I ordered from Walmart last Thursday, uploaded screenshots of my online receipt to the form linked to here, and got a "submission received" e-mail almost immediately. Finally got the second confirmation e-mail this morning, almost 5 full days later. It says:
"CONGRATULATIONS!
Your receipt is valid and your LEGO 90th Anniversary Mini Castle will be on its way shortly. Your reward will be sent to the address provided."
So to anyone still waiting on a response, don't lose hope yet! It just seems to be taking more time than they first anticipated. If your receipt is valid (50 bucks before tax, all qualifying items), and you got the original submission received e-mail, I would expect they'll get back to you at some point even though it's been more than 24 hours (or even several days for many of us).
I ordered from Walmart.com on Monday. Items shipped on Tuesday and received my email at 12:17 this morning indicating my receipt was valid and my 90th Anniversary mini castle would be shipped shortly!
7 days / 194 hours since first submission, still no response. (yes, nothing in spam/junk)
A few days ago, I submitted my receipt again using a different email address. Yesterday, I got a response to that email address saying my receipt was a duplicate and to contact them. I then sent an email to their help email explaining the situation, waiting to hear back about it.

I’m the nth person here to make multiple attempts, not realizing it was going through each time. Oops.
Multiple tries aside, I’m just hoping I didn’t wait too long on this.

Not yet, but its only been 11 days (maybe that's a lot? I dunno).
I just got mine in the mail today. It was weird it came in a zip lock bag.
@cabbie:
I accidentally made a qualifying purchase (got some sets on clearance, on the second day of the offer, before I knew there was an offer). I had my shipping address confirmed by the 12th at the latest, and it got here today.
I received mine today, same deal- just a ziplock bag with an instruction booklet and a flyer. Delivered in a plain yellow bubble mailer from "Fulfillment Center" in Michigan, nothing about LEGO on it. The most unceremonious thing ever. Just glad it came and glad that 90 year piece is printed.
Now, how do we add it to our collections? :P
