Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 23

Posted by ,

We completed the festive spacecraft yesterday, which I was quite pleased with. However, a click hinge remains vacant on the back, so I presume today will provide an attachment.

Find out after the break...

As expected, a trailer can be connected to that click hinge. While serviceable and containing a green sack that has appeared only twice before, the design is notably boxy. In fact, it lacks any notable features identifiable with the Guardians of the Galaxy or outer space in general, which is disappointing.

This trailer complements the spacecraft when attached though, as both models share identical colours and similar engine designs. Moreover, the trailer fits neatly beneath the larger vehicle's fins, so does not spoil its shape. Even so, I am not convinced this trailer was really a necessary inclusion, stretching the below model over three days.

Overall - I appreciate the continuity between the spaceship and its trailer, but this addition was superfluous, in my opinion.

This is the gift that keeps on giving... very little each time..

I think people might be happy with this if it actually resembled something from the films. It's incredibly generic instead. I can't even think of which Guardian should be piloting it.

This is exactly the reason why I open the GoG AC first before opening the Star Wars one (been doing that since the Rocket week). That way, I can end it on a high note.

By in Canada,

I like this weird little ship, but i just wish the gap between the front and the trailer was filled in to make it look more cohesive.

This is only my second lego advent calendar ive ever had and its been fun. My first was 75964 the 2019 hp one and i had bought it out of season so i just opened it all ay once. Im not a fan of hp whatsoever, but that one sure was cool. I dont think advent calendars have been as good since which is a shame.

It is, actually. It’s notable for being one of three elements that were unique to the X-mas Wing.

I'm not here for the calendar builds these days much as I'm here for Binnekamp's analysis of what we've ACTUALLY opened today. This one's a disappointment but perhaps our friend can explain how Jurassic a disappointment this is.

Who takes three days to build a model of this size? Why, back in my day, I used to build polybags in three minutes!

Wouldn't worry about it. He's going to love that little green Brachiosaurus."

Yeah, he seems oddly absent today. They're the main reason I even look in the comments for these things.

I love that. Comments, that is, not the lil' flying turd tray we got today. It's like all the TFOL comments on Lego or social media. 'Hey guys, back at it again with the Lego Dork. Guys, I just built this $200 set in 15 minutes. It's pretty cool, I guess.'

And that's just the beginning of my Festivus Airing of Grievances! Let me start with this horrible GG AC. First,

You’re not wrong. I knocked out their biggest Advent Calendar (21330) in about 6-7 hours. And then made it a lot more expensive by adding the missing wings, the back yard, the garage, the back ends of both family cars, some salt in the trash can, and alternate versions of Kevin and Harry. Next year I want to add the front yard, a better burglin’ van, and maybe some lights and a motor.

Sorry I'm late...

For this!?
That's the squarest bird in flight I've ever seen! And why is it carrying a green nose on its back? And with another exhaust at its rear end-

Oh my goodness what are those two birds doing in the last picture? This is a children's toy!

That's it! This Jurassic World and/or TLM2 and/or Parts & Re-creation Calender broke me. Unless we get a literal christmas miracle tomorrow this christmas is more like a chrismad!

I feel like Elaine after eating all those bad subs just to lose my rewards card that would have given her that free sub. Can’t wait to see this train wreck end. Crossing my fingers for a Kevin Bacon minifig tomorrow …
