Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 6
Posted by CapnRex101,
The 2022 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar has focused exclusively on the Prequel Trilogy in its first five days, introducing some new vehicles to the Advent Calendar format.
However, that focus seems certain to change in the next day or two...
The Bad Batch's modified shuttle, dubbed the Marauder, spans both the Republic and Imperial eras. This nineteen-piece rendition of the vehicle looks absolutely fantastic, capturing its shape with incredible accuracy. The proportions between the fuselage, cockpit and wings, for example, appear essentially perfect.
Furthermore, I like the sand blue colour choice, which matches the bigger 75314 The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle. The wings are also capable of folding precisely as they do onscreen. In fact, the model's only notable weakness is the relative fragility of those wings, which was unavoidable if their proportions were to remain close to the source material.
Overall - The growing collection of excellent mini vehicles continues today, with an impressive recreation of the Marauder.

There's even a far lower chance that the wings may fall of when you raise or lower them - unlike in 75314 !

And the central fin isn't poorly designed with asymmetrical anti-studs on one side.
Excellent model. So thankful to push the taste of yesterday's VBD out. And if anyone hasn't seen the Bad Batch yet, make time for it. Very strong series.
I know that the reference material pics were added because I was too lazy to spend 10 seconds to Google them. However, this isn't easy enough for me and this particular picture isn't bright enough. Could you include even better reference material photos to make it even easier for me?
If anyone's sleeping on The Bad Batch, it's everything you could want as a follow-up to Clone Wars. Rebels kind of became that, but this is on another level. Seeing the Empire come into being, watching Clones after the war in new roles, the Bad Batch acting as mercenaries, it's awesome. I wasn't a fan of the Bad Batch story arc in Clone Wars (both the Story Reel version from 2015 and the finalized version in 2020), but their own show is fantastic. Season 2's starting up January 4th, so there's still time to catch up or do a rewatch!

The StarWars.com Databank is trash. You want anything good, you go to Wookieepedia.

Brickset broke the link because of the parentheses, but here's the page for the class of shuttle.

This one's pretty good! The fin could maybe have been a 1x4 slope, but this one is already pretty well done! Shockingly the mini models of the SW advent calender are actually pretty respectable so far!
@MCLegoboy, Thanks!
This micro model flies on its own, without a trans-clear brick in sight! Brickset photos continue to get even better.

The difficulty with Wookieepedia images is that their resolution is sometimes relatively low, including the Omicron-class shuttle image linked there.
I did hunt for something brighter than the image in the article, maybe from scenes on Daro, but could not find anything showing a suitable angle. I would welcome suggestions though.
@MCLegoboy:
Sure, LMK when they release it on home video.

I get that, sometimes images can get a little rough, however, even with the lower res image, it's a better angle. Even the Acclamator from a couple days ago had better angles, even if not of a higher resolution. Stuff on StarWars.com is often touch and go and sometimes the only thing you can do is grab screenshots yourself to ensure you get what you want.
The more I see from the SW calendar this year, the more I am unsatisfied with my Marvel calender! What a disappointment up till now...

I hate to say it, but I don't think Disney really plans to, at least not for awhile. Not that I absolutely need the show, but Resistance Season 2 never got a DVD release, and that was initially released on Disney Channel. It's a little annoying because I have Season 1 and don't have the whole show. When it comes to the stuff exclusive to Disney+, I think they are going to wait as long as possible despite the opportunity to make even more money because the diehards are still going to keep subscribing for the new Seasons. That means no Final Season of Clone Wars to complete your collection, and no Mandalorian either with extra features. There's the Gallery series and the "extras" section on Disney+, but they rarely include the stuff you can get on a Blu-ray or DVD. It's typically just a clip or trailer for the show or movie.
There are people that have pirated these shows and put them on disks and Amazon sells them, not sure how that is allowed, and I would not support such action. The other thing to do would be to visit your favorite cartoon streaming site and make use of your security software. I'm not advocating piracy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Amazon sells fake Star Wars Lego as well. That's two HUGE, notoriously aggressive copyright defenders they're ignoring. Not sure how it is allowed, but that's why lawyers make money dealing with other's stupid decisions. This is especially dangerous because repeated violations and flagrant abuse of copyright can amount to very large punitive judgments.
I must doff my cap to the those involved in this year's Star Wars Advent Calendar. The mini builds have been outstanding.
Still waiting for the inevitable weapons rack...
@donnyman1972 : You have @BrickCommander to thank for that.
@MCLegoboy:
Right,I’ll take the full final season of Clone Wars, too. And the missing episode of Yoda Chronicles. And the final box set of Darkwing Duck, for crying out loud!
Like the batch, this micro ship has a 100% success rate!

You’ll be waiting for a while, I guarantee

Probably at least a year…
