By in Serbia,

Sooooo...rocket has no tail?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

These have been made far more simplified and got a large price increase. Hard pass for me.

Except maybe the Thanos one, getting the Infinity Gauntlet and all the stones in a small sets nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a really solid group of mechs. I like all three.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Cool! A cheap Thanos for my Squirrel Girl to whup! That’s one gnarly looking squirrel in the next one, though…

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Hulk mech set is such a bright idea, it's practically glowing!

Oh wait. That's radiation.....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Haha it only took 5 years but you can get the entire Infinity Gauntlet for $15 now!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the new canopy piece.
I like the new finger pieces.

I don't like non-bending legs and arms.
I don't like the price spike.

Rocket is meh, Hulk looks fun, Thanos is great but the gauntlet was better in its predecessor.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don’t like the unfinished inside of the legs on Rocket. Looks really lazy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wouldn't Hulk or Thanos be weaker if they used a mech?

in a word, yes.

No he has a "bush"

Gravatar
By in United States,

Missed opportunity here: Rocket's Mech should have been Groot.

@leetshoe said:

Exactly. That's really absurd. Alongside the mech for ghostrider to ride the motorbike. The only thing more absurd is the christmas version of Darth Vader...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why do we need another Thanos mech so soon?

Gravatar
By in United States,

RIP to all those who bought every infinity war set to complete the gauntlet!

Look, if you wanna be the one to criticize their taste, it's your funeral, but as far as I'm concerned, they want a mech, they can have one!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These feel like a downgrade. The $5 price hike is a big oof already, but now there's less ball joint pieces.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Reddish brown bush! It's new and very desirable!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only getting the Thanos one for the gauntlet.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Blimey the Mechs are taking over. I'm sure I built I built a Thanos Mech a few weeks ago. Whats next Friends..... lets have Mia's Mech. I do like Rockets though.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The hulk minifig is cool. With a little bit of chest hair. Did we already have the purple-green dual molded legs? I think i’ll buy Hulk

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yikes

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm glad they didn't do away with these like the microfighters have recently been. We need more 10 euro or below sets!
...
And then they just up and raised the price by 50% and now use those pre-bent limbs.
Not cool Lego. Especially not at those prices!

The Hulk and Thanos mechs look good, and that brown bush for rocket's mech tail is cute. I like how this Thanos is now the MCU variant. It helps with variety and keeps my original one distinct. I miss the giant hand, but that gauntlet looks super generous!
Still a shame about the price, but they at least look a bit more substantial... just a bit.

EDIT: Thanos' glove hand is permanently pointed upwards unless you modify the build. Great.
I take it back, this is just a straight up downgrade from the original unless you don't care about building the gauntlet and just want the bigfig one... on a not-bigfig. Only the blade is a significant inclusion, and that's not going to do much in that permanently fixed hand on that pre-bent arm.

EDIT 2: Electric Boogaloo
The built up torso is gone too! Now it's the pre-molded Nexo Knights torsos again! On mechs with different proportions. These aren't slightly larger, they're just more gangly in proportions with a weirdly small torso. It just keeps going!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m… fine with these. They look good.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's a huge price increase! I have enjoyed several of the Marvel mechs over the last couple of years, mainly for the minifigs admittedly, but a £4 price rise on a £9 set really hurts the perceived value.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Back in my day, you had to spend abour £300 on lego sets to get all 6 infinity stones. NOW ITS £13 FOR ALL OF THEM!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, I didn’t even notice the new arm/leg pieces that cannot move and are stuck at an angle. That’s a huge downgrade. And frankly, a LITTLE deceptive because at first glance they appear articulated.

No bueno in my book.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I thought yesterday's Marvel reveal was too good to be true. Lots of easy passes here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Rocket's mech looks like something he would steal/use in canon! Imo these have more desirable parts than previous mech waves, I may pick one up on sale.

i think these are meant to be a way for the younger audience to get the figures, but yeah, these are pretty absurd

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love that all of these are ridiculous. The appeal is very high.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The left arm on the Thanos Mech looks pretty good. Until you discover that it's not his elbow that is pointing upwards but his wrist for some reason. What were they thinking? Also, the use of the pre-bent limbs is terrible.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not really for me. I think these would have worked better as 4+ sets given the big solid pieces for arms, legs and the chest assemblies, and the price hike seems really unnecessary for what changes they've made. The fixed-position for the arms and legs really hinders poseability so you're limited in what you can do to pose or play with them (hence why I think 4+ would be good for them).

Also disappointed in that again we have no female characters with a mech - have any female Marvel characters had one yet? I don't recall one. If they did a Captain Marvel one I'd probably pick that up, doubly so if they did a Ms. Marvel one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So it’s a Hulk Hulk-Buster Buster?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

With a discount, an ok way to get minifigs and pieces.
But as sets, Lego is simply spawning too many mechs.

There's a Bush piece in Brown on the back of the mech for the mech's tail. Rocket has no tail so he can fit in the mech like how Thor had no cape in his mech set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why did they switch to the static joints? Stability? The older ones worked fine for me. Now kids can't get the same range of motion to play with, and adults can't get the same articulation for display- mid mechs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why have they took out the knees and elbows?! No thanks

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO is really pushing it with their prices, $15.00 for 98 pieces?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

New Mixel joint on the rocket mech! Besides that, wow, they dropped the ball

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

45% price increase. Undeserved.

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least the hip joints are actually in line with each other this time?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've been a big fan or the Marvel mini-mechs and have bought most of them. That is now over.

Too pricey, too basic.

I'm not a fan of the one-piece limb element for these, especially the anti-stud inside legs. Shame, I was looking forward to a Hulk one.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Is Rocket in his prison outfit from Vol 1?

Gravatar

Also, release date???

Where? The ball joint on the ankle looks like the ball and bar they have had since Nexo Knights.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll be getting the Hulk one just to have a non-bigfig Hulk. And I might get the Rocket one because, as @sir_vasco says, it looks like something he would actually use in canon.

@Lego34s: Wouldn't Olivia be the logical choice?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Rocket appears to have an MP40 sub machine gun which is cool.

I have no interest in Marvel but I think these are good sets for kids. Rocket's mech is the best in my opinion because it has the minigun stud shooter whereas the others just have arms.

Look closely and it appears to be like the part 14419 but with two ball ends rather than one being a cup. Thought it was the bar w/ ball at first but it doesn't seem there'd be anywhere for it to attach

That, or I'm seeing things. We'll see for sure when the set drops

Gravatar
By in United States,

A bit surprised by the negative reception to these. I didn't have any of the older Marvel mechs but I did have the similar mech from the Monkie Kid set 80028, and it felt almost like a case study in why more articulation isn't always ideal. The limbs could be a hassle to pose well (it could fit in MORE poses but many looked awkward or unnatural) and often failed to balance properly or support the weight of the mech effectively in more complex poses. By contrast, the Ninjago mechs I have from last year that use these new joints are easy to make look great, with the limbs being less flimsy-looking and easy to position into fun poses even without knees or elbows.

I also wasn't a huge fan of how that earlier era of Marvel mech didn't "close up" very snug (due to the use of the Nexo Knights mech hatch without the accompanying cockpit), so seeing that cockpit piece return for these is welcome. That also gives these new mechs waist articulation, which earlier ones lacked.

These are amazing partpacks!
NEW PLANT COLOR <3

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Yes, Hulk doesn't really need a mecha, but Thor had one, a little while ago, so.

I like that Rocket has a mecha. I don't know why Thanos needs another one (I get Spider-Man having multiple mechs because he's Spider-Man. Was Thanos popular enough as a character to warrant that?) ... but this is a definitely downgrade with the solid arms and legs. Can't say I'm a fan.

The ends of the legs and arms look to use 6043656. Torso ball joints are all on the mech body. Feet seem to be attached by 67692 held by two 1x1 plate with clip on the feet.
Not sure where in this would need a double ended ball joint.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm glad they're bringing back the nexo knights mech torsos! These past few superhero mechs that tried to build around the chestplate alone felt overwrought.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Meh. That's all I can really say. Way to basic for my liking, and no follow up X-Men.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I'm not a huge Marvel fan, but I picked up a couple mechs from the last wave. The unarticulated legs is mostly disappointing because it comes with a price increase. If price stayed the same, meh, it'd be fine I guess. Better stability apparently.

It's painful watching Lego do this -- profiteering under the guise of inflation. We expect it from the usual players -- Walmart, Amazon, grocers, etc. -- but Lego has traditionally been better than this. They've got a massive global customer base, they're in absolutely no danger of going belly-up, or even suffering in the slightest.

They're apparently racing toward a $20 minimum for anything in a box; $9.99 polybags are probably just around the corner.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Has Lego considered maybe Marvel has more than one villain? I seem to remember baddies better designed than Thanos. If we're condemned to see neverending streams of mechs, how about a Kingpin mech? an Apocalypse mech? Nightmare mech? Doctor Doom mech? Magneto mech (chunks of metal all around)? Bullseye mech? Sauron mech? If nothing else we'd get some worthwhile mfs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

We really need to start getting ball joint pieces molded in colors other than light and dark grey

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Missed opportunity for a Starship Hulk mech based on his current comic appearance.

Wow the rendering on that Thanos mech is atrocious

Gravatar
By in United States,

For those commenting about all infinity stones being available in a $15 set, did we forget about last year's advent calendar? I know it was $40 rather than $15 but still... I certainly dislike the conversion to the Ninjago joints although I understand why they did it. It will be harder for me to swallow picking up the mechs now that even fewer parts will be reusable though. As for the mech choices... they're actually a pretty good lot. Rocket would build something like that, and Thanos and Hulk would be the poor kid's bigfig. I may consider picking up Thanos on a heavy discount.

On to the price. Do we need to expect Lego to jack up microfighters as well? I wasn't feeling priced out during the initial wave of price increases, but now I'm really feeling it. It is concerning to see the $10 and below sets disappearing.

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

These look very good. I might even get a one or two.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I assume the price increase is because these solid, no joint parts are more plastic intensive? I'll buy Rocket for sure, even if the lack of a minifig tail is annoying (I realize he can't use it in the mech, but...) and possibly Hulk to put Banner in. Next to zero inerest in the Thanos one. They should have put in another villain.

Gravatar
By in United States,

With the price drops the current mechs get, I'll assume these will get them eventually too.

Expecting some good MOCs like the last batch!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Is it just me or does it feel like Superheroes and Star Wars themes have been running on fumes for the last few years?

"Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne must be a favorite song over in Billund, for it's what they're doing.

@LegoLover58:
Don’t trust it when you get lag. Get one post through, or copy the text just in case, but before you leave you should refresh the page when that happens. I’ve done that and found as many as half a dozen posts, five of which got Prestiged out of existence ASAP.

@StarWarzFan7777:
Are your wrists _not_ articulated? Besides, it’s a 2x2 plate connection. Easy enough to rebuild with the wrist pointed forward, or just do it from the start. Pre-bent limbs lowers the recommended age, and it’s a free mold that’s available to use. The Zurg drones used them, and they were able to tweak the leg design to kinda hide that fact.

@PicnicBasketSam:
You may have hit upon the reason for the fixed limbs right there.

@synonymforexpd:
Ankles are bar-balls held by two clip plates (curious to see what the new part used for the sole of the feet is). Upper legs and arms are 1x2 w/ socket on the side. Nothing for the knees/wrists/elbows, of course. I’m assuming the shoulder balls are incorporated into the cockpit shell? But, yeah, the pelvis has got me wondering. Rocket’s box art clearly shows the hips rotate, so they can’t be part of the cockpit. It does kinda look like a 1x2 plate w/ towballs on each end.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

One piece limbs on small mechs with few weight constraints? No thanks, I'll pass.

I completely agree. Thanos may have been a good villain, but there were some other good villains in the MCU that Lego could totally have made. The Hulk mech is kinda weird. The radioactive symbol doesn't even fit the aesthetic of the character and why is Lego still using the minifigure version of Hulk rather than the big Hulk? Personally, I'm hoping that Lego makes an Ultron mech or a Killmonger mech, which would be SO cool!
