There's some Lego in those stickers
Speed Champions is one of my favourites, and this one doesn't disappoint. I especially like the way they did the rear lights and the grille.
Looks just fantastic. I can’t wait to see more SC sets revealed, and I ESPECIALLY can’t wait to build them! Best build experiences at a value price imo.
I’m all for a good run of classic Japanese super cars. But, did it have to be a jdmboyzyo, decalhp, allshownogo car from the worst Fast & Furious movie ?!?!?
very nice on the outside - but still looks like the driver and steering wheel are not lined up. that offset has turned me off the current batch of speed champions, alas
Yes, more 'movie cars'!
Now for the ones we are all waiting for. ;¬P
I've been a big fan of the super cars. This doesn’t do it for me. Space and money saved.
They should really do a Pontiac Trans Am with the Hoff now. Maybe with a lightbrick inclueded.
Skylines are awesome, so i'll let the tuned up and stickered aesthetic slide a bit. I know the rest of the wave has some amazing cars too so i'm excited for Jan 1. Hopefully they limit the amount of movie cars going forward, it is still "Speed Champions", we want super cars and stuff we could never afford
So many exposed studs everywhere! That really is a bit of a big deal, and possibly a dealbreaker.
That is way too many stickers.
Doesn't really capture the shape at all, and the stickers are a mess of misalignments and miscolours.
Judging by the stickers, I assume the movie this is based on is '50 Shades of Grey'.
When building my last Speed Champions set (76907) I got so annoyed with the stickers I vowed never to buy one again. Although I like this one as a build, the sticker wrap is just too much. So easy pass.
Are 8+ year olds really that much better with stickers than a 50+ year old?

As a possible compromise, you could leave off a good portion of the stickers via ditching the side decals, but leaving the two at the front that continue the blue stripes, and I bet it would still look pretty great.

Easy solution. We have ten (10) Speed Champions vehicles and have applied zero (0) stickers to them. In a very few cases, we've swapped out bricks for bricks of a different color, in order to approximate color-blocking, etc. I think they all look better that way.
Yeah! Knight rider!
Even better! A bunch of cars from the TV-series The Dukes of Hazzard. A Bo & Luke Duke's General Lee, a long with Rosco P. Coltrane's police car. Daisy's yellow 1974 Plymouth roadrunner with the black stripe. Uncle Jesse's pickup truck. Boss Hogg convertible Lincoln continental. Another cop car for deputy Enus.

That often unavoidable offset is really not a big deal, I'd say to give them a chance despite it, they are wonderful sets
I tried to edit my comment, since it was a reply to Anak, but it wouldn't let me edit, and it did not post my comment as a reply to him either. So .... here you go.

Hell yeah!
In fact, they already have the Hoff minifig, from the 71286 Dimensions' fun pack.

Dukes of Hazzard is never gonna happen. For a very big reason.
I agree with other commenters, the Speed Champion cars often are fantastic, but the amount of stickers drives me insane too. I wish TLG would just do printed tiles/bricks instead, and get rid of all stickers.

See, that's the last thing I want to see them do. Printing everything drastically reduces the versatility of the product. A one-time convenience for some doesn't outweigh reusability, for me.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that TV-series, nor the later 'remake' films from the early 2000s.
@thebiglegoski but you’re missing the obvious reason they would never do it. Anyway, I would think you’d want a beat up 1973 Ford Gran Torino based on your name…
I enjoy placing stickers!

Me too, but on this one they actually are!
A theme SC car that is worth having. The other two were so bland and barely recognizable as more than a generic car. This is much much better.
Better choice and design.

Sure, a beat up Gran Torino along with the Dude, Walter, and a ringer would be far out!
And, no, I am not missing the point, but that is just your opinion.
The only thing obvious is that all reason has been thrown out of the window if you have surrendered to the notion that there is anything reasonable about all the cancelling, and the taboo declarations about what currently is still deemed permissible.
The Dukes of Hazzard was an action-comedy show about some guys being on probation for moonshine running. It was centred around car chases, all with light-hearted humour and harmless fun. There was never any obscenity, foul language, or anything other controversial about it. Hence, IMO perfect Speed Champion material.
If TLG does a James Bond car (very nice set IMO), and more of these F&F cars, there really is no reason on the grounds you state why this would be out of bounds.
Anyway, that is all I will say, since Huw and the admins are not keen on people discussing such matters here.
Think they should have a Speed Champions sub-category for movie cars, not just lump them all together.
Love this one btw, in fact there are very few SC’s (6 or 8 wide) that I dont love. Easily one of my favourite Lego lines
I always liked the R32 V spec the best, aesthetically speaking. But the R34 was a far more capable machine.
I think it’s pretty amazing how they were able to get so many necessary details just right. It should look great even without all the stickers.

Especially when the sticker color doesn't match the piece... I only applied 4 stickers to my Bond car after watching Jang's review, and I think it looks better for it.
Looks great!!
More movie cars in this scale, please. I don't have room for, I don't have interest in, and I don't have money for the $150+ monsters. Plus, it gives LEGO no excuse not to include minifigs of iconic characters with the cars. Just like we didn't get our first James Bond (well, Daniel Craig's Bond) until the DB-5 this year.
Oh hell yes! Finally a japanese car, that actually looks like the real thing.

Hopefully they dont decide that Knight Rider is racist now too before we get that classic Trans Am! I do hope that we get a couple waves of all the iconic movie cars, and then go back to the usual SC unattainable sports cars for a while. I always thought that SC was the ideal way to get iconic movie cars with main characters and Ive been quite happy with what weve gotten so far.
Probably my first and only Speed Champions.

oh, i've purchased a bunch from the 8-wide waves. i just ignored the irregularity until the corvette convertible, then i had enough. such a pain to re-build the interior to line things up. and if you need to raise the inside one tile, the roof is too high, etc. factoring in fitting a minifig throws everything off

Kinda seems like you are, though.
Google 'Lego R34' for more info...
@TheBigLegoski
I didn't even notice until you mentioned it! Still, I think it looks good. And since it's LEGO it's okay, I think.
I tried squinting really hard. Still can’t see the resemblance to the real thing. Some Volvo yes, Nissan no.

Looking at 5 SC sets I have built and on display atm:
(my three favourites)
76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
76911 007 Aston Martin DB5
76908 Lamborghini Countach
&
76897 1985 Audi Sport Quattro S1
76896 Nissan GT-R NISMO
The IMO best looking ones have a minimal amount of studs showing. I think 76917 Nissan Skyline GT-R should have been designed without any studs showing on the bonnet/hood (and less stickers). Curious if this (14 bare studs on the bonnet) can be remedied with different tiles and plates?! You need to redesign the headlights using different parts.
It was a pun, a play on a line from The Big Lebowski: "that's like your opinion, man."
Kinda seems you did not read what I actually wrote in all seriousness after that.
May I suggest you go and have a laugh and (re)watch that film?!

DeLorean DMC when?
Can’t believe nobody has yet suggested this:
Bullitt Mustang
I bought my first SC set 76900 because I saw it reduced to £5 in Asda. I had no intention of opening it, let alone building it.
My word, I am so glad I did. This range is so much fun at a reasonably affordable price.
Looking forward to the next batch.
@TheBigLegoski: The reason they'll never do the General Lee isn't because of any of the show's content, it's because of the huge Confederate flag on the roof. The fact that the car is named after a Confederate general doesn't help.
@TheRightP_art: I suggested it when it was first revealed that they would be doing movie-based sets. I've never seen the movie, I'd just like to have an eight-wide Mustang.
Of course there's a pile of stickers, this is Speed Champions. I love it and it'll pair nicely with the Charger.
Paul Walker vibes.
Is Lego a sticker company now?

From what I can tell in the images, it looks like the rear mudguard elements are printed. So if you left off all the side stickers on this set, you'd have a random splotch of that blue stripe pattern sticking out like a sore thumb against the plain gray.

How is reusability any different once stickers are applied compared to printed parts? If your counter-argument is to 'not apply the stickers' to ensure the most versatility, then why even have stickers in these sets at all.
Holy stickers sheet, Batman!
But I love the model, and the exposed studs, esp on the front side.

That's true. Although I wasn't really thinking about this car when I commented. I probably should have specified that I wasn't suggesting going that route with the skyline. As you are correct, it would look awful.
Honestly, I don't get the love for this car, but it may have to do with me never watching FnF.
Never forget (that Paul Walker dated a 16 years old while he was in his 30s).
Ugly car, with a figure of a disgusting person.
I'm in automotive so I was very interested in a Skyline... but I think I'll pass. It's an R34, which is my personal favorite of the maru-sukas, but I couldn't tell until seeing the rear. the design doesn't catch the beauty from the front (or rear, but at least the back catches some uniqueness of the tail lights).

Admittedly, I probably won't be getting this, but I would probably just live with the random splotch if I did. The Ford GT has a similar issue with orange printing on an otherwise blue car, but I just ignore it. :) Also, I lied earlier. Apologies. I did affix one or two Porsche logo stickers to my 911s.
