In the UK there are also VIP coupons available (for 100 points each) for £100 off 75331, £10 off 75325, £10 off 75334, £15 off 75338 and £30 off 75323.

By in Canada,

4 hrs, 45 mins for me in Canada

Gravatar
By in Spain,

That was easy - though took 5 mins for the “coming soon” stuff to become live. Got the Leia helmet, the Endor brickheadz and the super star destroyer and the 3 GWP so happy with that

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Already bought them on Friday elsewhere. 20% off. Except the X-Wing which I’m still pondering

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

75363 costs 15.99€ instead of the usual 9.99€ for a single Microfighter?! WTH? Grogu really is expensive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Monkees summed up the special offers. Only Shades of Grey.....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The new X-Wing is nicely designed but the subject matter bores me to death…

…so I got the UCS Razor Crest with £100 off instead! I realise somewhere like John Lewis has a similar amount or maybe slightly more off at the moment but a.) it might not be in stock and b.) I wouldn’t get all three of the GWPs TLG are offering.

I also bought Ambush on Ferrix with the VIP voucher too - it doesn’t seem to get many reductions and not that easy to find elsewhere so made sense to me. I also love Andor.

Don’t forget the sweepstakes if you like entering them:
- Signed UCS Star Destroyer can be entered 1 time every day between 1st-7th
- Random SW plushies & accessories bundle is 25 points per entry
- There will be a another Platinum R2-D2 draw but it doesn’t open til the 4th

Might actually skip this year… Glad it sounds like everyone else is excited, but nothing is really calling to me this time around…

I've just bought the Throne Room. I have a drunken plan to somehow adapt it somehow for the interior of Cafe Corner... My MOCs don't usually go to plan however..

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Got my order for the 75355 X-Wing placed within a couple of minutes of it going live, after waiting in a queue to get on the website. My first UCS X-Wing and VIP May 4th! Forgot to put express shipping on though...

Ever since someone else mentioned it on this site, all I can see is the Stargate, which makes me want to get this set now… Lol

By in New Zealand,

Executor Super Star Destroyer and Mando’s N-1 Starfighter are both already sold out in AU/NZ

Gravatar
By in United States,

That was fast. Website crashed within the first 5 minutes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Site crashed in U.S. O brother...

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Due to high demand you have been placed in a queue to visit LEGO.com."

Now we play the waiting game...

...

The waiting game sucks! Let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got into the queue, waited for a bit, and when I got through got an error message about not being able to connect to the lego.com server. Trying again...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Not working here either and the tie interceptor does not seem to be available anymore…

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had items in my cart, then went to check out and was put in a queue...never had that happen I don't think haha

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got through to placing my order, then the website crashed as it was trying to authorize payment. No idea if it went through or not...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone able to buy CMF 6 pack? No button to buy lol.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I lost two purchases in the last five minutes. It’s as bad as it was before the queue system was introduced a couple of years ago.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Welp, now the CMFs are just gone...??

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The ROTJ coin isn’t showing up on the Australian website. I am a VIP, is this a global freebie?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The site is already messed up. After all this time and the amount of money this lego organization has you would like to think they are prepared for this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Lego.com site is just great. Now 75348 Fang Fighter VS Tie Interceptor doesn't even show up at all on the US site, as if it doesn't even exist. Guess I'll be keeping my money in my pocket this May the 4th!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Before the site crashed and says I don't have anything in my cart (I had 8 things) I wasn't getting the GWP 40591 Death Star ... instead it was the X-Wing polybag. Anyone else have this happen?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thought I got the X-wing in the first 5 minutes - but after trying to pay for it 4 times, it never went through. Now I can't add or edit my basket and the X-wing is listed as "limit exceeded" so... this is not fun...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The site crashed big time. I’ve been in and out of the waiting room about 10 times. Some sets appear then are gone, i’m told my cart is empty while I clearly see stuff in it. i think I’ll go to bed and hope the two sets I want are still available tomorrow.

Looks like you are well on your way to a full squadron!

Gravatar

It keep repeatedly putting me in a queue even after I got to the site. Items keep disappearing and reappearing. Some items don't have buy button. Why is Lego such a hot mess?

More like first 2 minutes. Was on the site at 12:02 and immediately went into a queue. Couldn't add the RotJ BrickHeadz pack and, when I could, cart was unavailable. Then, it kept going back and forth with my account being logged out even though I hadn't logged off the site.

Yes.....a May the 4th (5/04) error indeed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

34-minues later and I still can't do anything on the site. My shopping bag icon says I have 9 items, though even with the GWPs, I have no idea what the others would be. Then I click on the shopping bag, and it tells me my cart is empty, yet when I try to ad one of the dioramas it says I have hit the limit. What a crap show.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Which sets are on discount in lego.com US?

Have a lot of trouble getting into the site.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got in to the main site without having to queue, which almost feels like cheating. And then I had to queue to get in to the Rewards Center, so zero guilt.

@GarethMoore:
There are four special offers in US/Canada, as well. $5 off 75332, $10 off 75338, $15 off 75343, and $20 off 75326, good on orders placed May 1-7 only.

@legospaceslug:
Not that it matters anymore, but I did find a countdown clock on one page, so I was able to bounce right to my cart when it hit two seconds left.

@The_Rancor:
Oh, so it’s a once-per-day raffle? Good to know.

@BytorJerkydog:
If you’re signed in to your VIP account, you should get the Death Star, the coin, the polybag-Wing, and the Spring VIP with any SW order of $150 or more. If you didn’t hit $150 with just SW sets, you didn’t qualify for the Death Star.

@MVives:
Is The Waiting Game that show where you ask Bachelorette No1 a question, and she doesn’t answer until the end credits are rolling?

Somehow I got in too, and I can add stuff to the bag, but I can't access the bag anywhere to checkout. What a joke.

Gravatar

The executor is already on backorder in the US, so apparently people have been able to checkout successfully.

Absolutely. I got it added to my order when I put it through early this morning. It could have sold out in AU/NZ now I guess but like everyone else I can’t get on the site at the moment to find out.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Please note that if you use any VIP voucher codes for the sets that are on special offer they appear to reduce the overall total of the order so be careful. I placed one last night for around £135, and when I went through the checkout applied a £15 off code for the Ferrix, but afterwards the system had removed the Death Star Promo from it (as the total payable was around £120 and now below the threshold).

And now the website has totally imploded and I can't get into my account to cancel/re-order! Not impressed......

Gravatar
By in United States,

1 hour later, still stuck in a mix of queues, cloudfare html errors, and lego.com errors. Once in awhile I'll get to the main shop page, but the top bar with all the account, cart and general website buttons are missing each time. Clicking anything else on the main page, or even just waiting a minute or two on the main page without doing anything, leads to an error.

I'm done. Even if the site does start working later, I'm not rewarding Lego's total failure tonight with a $150+ purchase.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I feel the same as MrBob. The only way Lego will ever change is if we stop buying from their site. I’ll just wait until Amazon has what I was going to buy for 20% off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Incredibly, I was just able to place an order after an hour of constant refreshing each step of the way.

I even got the VIP add-on pack, which is a nice surprise, in addition to the SW GWPs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Took over an hour, but I finally managed to add 75355 to my cart and get the checkout page to work. I got an error at the end of the checkout, but I have received a confirmation email and can see it on the 'My Orders' page, so I think I'm good.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Brutal. Almost as bad as trying to get Comic-Con tickets. More than 1.5 hrs of waiting, refreshing, reloading, then correcting my order (some of my “add to cart” went through without my knowing). But I finally got the order in, confirmed by email. Freebies included 30654, 40591, 40606, 5007840, and free shipping. Loaded a few other Star Wars sets to take advantage of double points.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I did it! I conquered the challenges put up by Lego and managed to exchange currency for plastic bricks in barely an hour of my worthless time!

Gravatar
By in United States,

2 hours and finally pushed the final button, only to get a 502 error. Now to wait and see if the order goes through or not.

Update: 20 minutes later...
Order not showing on order page
No confirmation Email
Credit Card shows a charge and a credit for the order
One of the items I order, the Executor, is now showing out of stock.

I guess I'll go to bed soon and just assume the order didn't go through. If nothing shows up, might call customer service in the morning. I don't want to risk placing a new modified order until I'm 100% sure the first order isn't going through.

Mildly annoyed that the Executor is out of stock now and if I have to reorder, I'll have to order something I wanted less to get the GWPs. First world problem, I know.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've never had the Lego site act this poorly before (including Ulysses). Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I finally got an email notifying me of purchase (Executor and Interceptor). Website still doing yellow cartwheels.

Our points for dollars rewards are pretty awful. But, we are still currently getting the Spring VIP polybag as well. Thus, 2x VIP points + 4 stacked GWPs + $30 off makes the Justifier cheaper than heading to the store. Hmmm...

Yikes! I sympathize with the Kafkaesque nightmare into which you are about to enter. I've been there, my friend. I would expect it to take 5-6 calls over 3-4 days to make another order, and some or all of the GWPs/offers could well be gone by then.

God speed and good luck! If you harangue them enough, you can probably get a good amount of extra VIP points out of it. They shouldn't be able to bait-and-switch your purchase like that!

By in Slovakia,

Hello, I just woke up, ordered 75355 and saw three GWPs in the shopping cart. How do I know if they aren't sold out? It's my first time shopping through official Lego shop, so don't know how this works and if I'm late to the party to get the Death Star and micro X-Wing.

By in United Kingdom,

The Lego site is saying Coming Soon for the X-wing, but sounds like others have been able to order it straight away. And many others have had the standard crashes and disasters which happen so frequently on days like this. You’d think they’d have figured this out by now.

Weirdly said coming soon on my phone but was able to order it on the laptop, so bizarre! Anyway, X-wing and some Disney figures ordered, hopefully I’ll get the free gifts as well

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I didn't bother waiting up and got in easily at 8:30am. Almost every set avalable, no queueing system and I got all the GWPs.
I think either Lego has properly sorted it's stocking levels or demand has fallen dramatically. Either way, I'm a happy shopper & had a full night's sleep.

Happened to me as well. I got the “not accepted” message in the cart view, then the site kicked me out shortly after wards when reloading the page. After some waiting in the queue, I got back on, and without further ado my shopping cart had the voucher accepted and the Razor Crest reduced accordingly. So my advise would be to leave the site and try to get back on.

I noted 5007840 Return of the Jedi 40th collectable coin wasn't available this morning also... but a heafty discount and axtra points was welcome on 75331 The Razor Crest!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Lobot:
I don’t believe that’s supposed to happen, but I think people ran into this problem before and were able to get the GWP manually added by calling customer service.

@Dalchio:
If they’re sold out, they won’t add to your cart. In years past, they absolutely used to run out of stuff before people woke up on the first day, but hiking the target spend has really slowed down the rate at which people scoop them up. Now, they tend to last for at least a few days.

If you’re still nervous, check your order status by logging in to your VIP account, call customer service and ask them to do it for you, or simply add stuff to your cart later today and make sure all the GWPs still show up (the coin may not, even if it’s still available).

Shall we play Global Thermonuclear Angsty Angsty Afols?"

(Not intending to mock anyone - it IS frustrating when the site crumbles between your hands, and you don't know if the stuff you want will be here all week or if its about to sell out permanently this very moment)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Got straight in (granted, it was 00:30 and I was up late due to work) and nabbed myself the Super Star Destroyer, TIE Bomber and Luke Skywalker's X-Wing (which I had been pondering for ages and finally took the plunge). There are other sets I want but had to set a limit whilst still getting all the GWPs.

Thought the offers this time around were pretty good. The prices continue to spiral upwards but I think we all just have to accept that or stop buying, the demand is there for LEGO to charge what they do I guess.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I had work in the morning so I couldn't stay up till midnight... lucky I got the Death Star II because the ROTJ coin was gone by the time I woke up. I reckon AU/NZ got shafted on the coin due to lack of supply, lucky it's just a stupid coin but it's one less freebie to resell on eBay.

Super Starb Destroyer already out of stock in US, can't even backorder. Guess no GWP for me. I was struggling to get up to the $150 threshold anyway.

Gravatar
By in United States,

On the site for an hour last night and then had to go to bed, you know, day job and all, only to wake up to find 75356 had already sold out - just a mere 5 hours later.

I get it's just a toy etc, etc. But the other reality is that it is really bad customer service to have this happen. How did they not anticipate high demand on that set after the 77904 debacle?

Placed an order, got some free stuff which is great, but the one set I was most excited about was not able to get. Very disappointing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@N1majneb:
The last time they did these set-specific vouchers, they got classified as shippable VIP Rewards, so you could either apply the voucher, or add a shippable to your cart. They were able to retroactively apply the voucher in these cases, if you call them after the order is placed.

@Legoarcher87:
SSD is a Walmart exclusive in the US (like the Galaxy Destroyer…er, Explorer), and I’ve been told by LEGO Store management that they historically tend to under stock these (like the store might receive half a pallet or more of the two new vignettes and UCS set, but only a few cases of the SSD). The good news is, this isn’t a deferred SDCC/SWC set like the Nebbie, so it should continue to be restocked for the rest of the year at the very least.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So that's why the 5x VIP points is only in store. The discounts for the sets that cost only 100 points would usually cost roughly 3,900 VIP points. Imagine making the Justifier cost $140 USD (though I would think that with the discount you'd receive less VIP points) and netting a 5x VIP points on it. I'd say at that point it might, just might be worth it, but only online means you're stuck with 2x VIP points, which I can't imagine justifies (heh) its absurd price, even if discounted. Edit: yeah, going to the website, instead of almost getting the $50 discount that 5x points would net you, 2x points doesn't even give you the $20 discount. Really going through some extensive lengths to make sure VIP doesn't end up making something that cost too much from every angle 'cost' a reasonable amount.

That makes some sense, but still doesn't excuse the horrible online experience that happens almost every release day. If the site had actually worked like I would imagine it should, then I would be a happy camper!

Again, I don't mean to seem entitled, but we all are here for Lego after all, so I try not to cast any stones at anyone!

Well, this is how I calculated it: $170 - $30 (reward code) - $14 (2x VIP) - $35 (4 stacked GWPs) = $91.

At that price, the parts and figs are good enough for me to snag another copy. I mean, the ship is a gigantic, confused, unfinished, part-regurgitator. But, it's impressive on display. Good enough at 47% off RRP.

In store, it's: $170 - $42.5 (5x VIP) - $30 (3 stacked GWPs) = $97.5 (plus gas, time, trouble and, in my jurisdiction, even higher sales tax).

I'm more interested in Jurassic Park day and Donkey Kong day than Star Wars day this year. I was eyeing the Star Destroyer, but it's already out of stock.

Given that I'm avoiding impulse purchases and trying not to get sucked into the hype, not ordering is probably a good thing for now.

Ah. I didn't factor in the GWPs, I just looked at the numbers that the VIP points and the discount would net you. And what happened to the GWP that you don't get when you pay in store?

Ah. I didn't factor in the GWPs, I just looked at the numbers that the VIP points and the discount would net you. And what happened to the GWP that you don't get when you pay in store?"

Yeah, I reduced it by $5 for that (VIP Spring Fun Pack). My valuation, not theirs.

"What the heck happened with the Spider Tank? I had it in my cart. I went back to my cart and now it says coming soon Aug 1? Thanks Lego. Great Job."

Aug 1 has been the official release date for the spider tank since the reveal. No surprise there. No wrongdoing by TLG at all, except maybe the relatively long lead time from reveal to general availability.

@Legoarcher87:
Oh, it’s been worse. Back when 76040 came out, I got there on the day it released…and they didn’t have any. Not one. Corporate had decided the tiny shipments of these shared exclusives were selling too fast, and making too many customers angry at missing out, that the only possible logical conclusion is that they should just stop shipping them to LEGO Stores altogether.

Going in to the LEGO store, it’s a shame to see all the Fennec Shand with its HELMET hanging there as key chains. TLG could’ve used all of these excess figs and put her in a cheap set, instead of piercing rings on their heads, pffff.

"So that's why the 5x VIP points is only in store. "
The discount and points on the website is actually better value than 5x in-store.

Using GBP as I have all that to hand, you receive 5x VIP in-store which gives 6,000 points (£150*8*5). 6,000 points equals £37.50 (6,000/160), or 25% back (or 5% x 5, if you prefer), making The Justifier £112.49.

Online one can buy a £30 discount for 100 points. One then receives 2x points on the amount paid (£120*8*2), giving 1,920 points. Deduct the 100 points cost to buy the voucher and one has 1,820 points, or £11.37 (1,820/160). Total discount/reward is therefore £41.37, or 27.6%, making the set £108.62.

Why did they let me add it to my cart and add the free gifts during the event?

I gotta agree on this one. If it's been announced as launching in August, in no way should it have been set up so it would add to your cart in May, unless it was set as a preorder.

Waiting until morning for me worked just great. Got a 75337 and 75345 with some VIP points and got all four freebies. I'll just snag the MIDI SSD at Walmart later. They have a pallet display with several of them.

Well personally I owe Lego an apology, looks like they gave online discounts in Australia I was able to pick up the Razor Crest for a decent price - very happy. Everything else I would like is out of stock, but honestly, more than happy to get the Razor Crest.

"I got through to placing my order, then the website crashed as it was trying to authorize payment. No idea if it went through or not..."

Update: apparently there's a pending charge on my credit card for the order I tried to place right before the website imploded, but no sign it in my order history or any confirmation email. So I guess I'm stuck in limbo for now."

Update 2: I finally got a pending credit back on the credit card this morning, so I only now know for sure that my order didn't make it through. I was left in limbo for days wondering if my first order went through. And now some of the stuff I wanted is sold out, and the VIP addon pack is gone too, so it's hardly worth doing an order just for the free x-wing.

At this point I might as well just wait for the inevitable 20% off the sets I wanted and just pick up the xwing polybag at Target, while still saving more money than I would by placing an order now.

Truly a disappointing experience. I expected better of Lego.
