New sets and new theme revealed
Posted by Huw,
An Australian LEGO Certified Store and UK retailer Smyths Toys have revealed a number forthcoming sets this morning, including three for a brand-new theme based on the DreamWorks' animated series Gabby's Dollshouse that airs on Netflix.
Two awesome-looking Creator 3-in-1 and two more Disney 100 sets complete the lineup of hitherto unseen sets that will, presumably, be available from 1st June.

10787 Kitty Fairy's Garden Party Set
10788 Gabby's Dollhouse

Wow both of these 3-in-1 sets look awesome!
I'm fine with 43226 and 43227, but a whole theme of a show I've never even heard of? Are you sure this is real?
Space rollercoaster looks beautiful! All 3 builds. AND with another space baby! ( unfortunately the same color as the CMF )
I realy like the Creator 3 in 1 space set it looks amazing, darkbleu rolecoster parts and the space baby:)
Wow, most of these will sell like crazy! (By me, for one. With a 3yo girl and 8yo boy and 39yo self)
Awwww that Gabby's Dollhouse is so adorable. I don't care I'm way behind 4 years old, I want these sets!
Those 3-in-1 do look great. Main Street is just the sort of thing I've been wanting for my growing 3-in-1 town.
Gabby's looks like Lego Friends-lite.
*sigh*
I was really hoping 43226 was actually four sets. Maybe I can unload the non-Pixar ones…
UCS VHS!
Never heard of Gabby's dollhouse, and neither has the grandaughter. Makes sense though when its only been on the 'tiny pop' channel in the UK, which tells me that its audience is very limited, which makes it seem an odd choice of a theme.
Love both 3in1 creator sets. Though think the 'arch' build is better then the main street build for 31141.
Think the Disney duos builds are too simplistic and angular to make good display peices, though like the idea of them. Can't remember what the racoon and pug dog are from however, even with the box telling me its Pocahontas... So, maybe there was a better duo they could pick?
Villain icons though is confusing. We've got the 'witch form' of the evil queen from Snow White, Maleficent, Genie Jafar and Gaston as minifigs, but the actual iconic items don't seem to apply that well. Yes, we have the poisoned apple as a build... but then we've got just books for, Jafar, Gaston and Maleficent? Why not the Black Lamp for instance? And then a VHS Cassette of the little Mermaid? Seems like a good idea concept, poorly executed to me.
How the heck does 3-in-1 continue to deliver such impressive sets... maybe the best yet? I'm stoked, hopefully the price points are decent!
Glad there are still some original LEGO concepts in the mass of licensed and Disney multiverse left. Those 3-in-1 CREATOR sets are awesome!
Why there was a need for yet another girl's theme for a younger demographic is beyond my understanding, especially with all the "everyone is awesome" concept LEGO is emphasizing nowadays.

Agree, if they were small sets they would make a nice little gift for fans of the movies they star in.
I have never watched Gabby's Dollhouse in my life (I have heard of it though) but those sets are fantastic and I kinda want them.

The one theme which makes me go „oh, that looks nice!“ on a regular basis.
Also, most of them are on my wanted list.
There are a lot of alternative builds on Rebrickable, too, which makes them even more attractive to get.
The Gabby's Dollhouse sets are weird. As 4+ sets they're likely going to be expensive as heck, anyway, and here in Germany the series is likely going to end up on some obscure third-rate channel being aired at weird times or being buried on some streaming platform. The Disney Duos are nice, but the villain set doesn't seem to offer much. The Creator sets don't interest me that much. The Main Street might make sense if you combine it with the similar Friends set, but otherwise it looks way too skeletal and very empty.
space rollercoaster will sit well with the pirate coaster. Personally I think the pirate one looks better, but this space one is a "day 1 purchase" for sure.
As a huge creator fan i must say the Main street looks...Unfinished? Like there clearly went for too size/lenght instead of polishing other 3 more.
However other builds look VERY solid. Especialy that third one
I didnt even notice the "DreamWorks" logo above "Gabby's Dollhouse" for a while, and thought it was an original theme.
Anyway I'll always celebrate more light aqua parts. Criminally under-used colour
would have been nice to get a different colour spacebaby since there was already a blue one in the CMF.
A red one would have been good
For those that haven't heard of Gabby's Dollhouse - there are already gazillions of toys and products available by other toy manufacturers.
At Christmas some of it was very much on the "most wanted" lists and many Mums were required to re-create scenes from the Hunger Games at toy shops to get hold of them.
(According to UK forum Mumsnet anyway....)
It's popular....well if you're a girl and age around 5.
Really thought the Disney Duos would be separate sets. Could see the Beauty and the Beast set selling very well, but perhaps Lego thought they could maximise profit by bundling them in with random characters?
Ah, initially the 3 in 1 sets looked amazing, but looking again not so sure.. rollercoaster alternative builds actually look better to me, the main build looks a bit basic...
Gabby's Dollhouse is also on Netflix and I can see my son (who loves the show) pushing hard for those sets. He also likes the friends sets so I can see the link. Annoyingly 4+ though, so pricey for the number of bricks...
I'm in for the Space Rollercoaster.
The rest is fine, but not for me.

Same.
Would have possibly picked up the Finding Nemo one if that was the case, but have little to no interest in the other 3.
The two Creator 3-1 are not on the LCS site but the two Disney ones are for pre-order shipping from July 1st. the Duos set is AUD$72.99 and the Icons is AUD$209.99. Didn't look for the other theme, never heard of it but if kids like the sets, then I hope it does well :)
Those Dollhouse sets make me think that LEGO is missing a trick not having something similar to Sylvanian Families.
Love Gabby's Dollhouse and excited to see it as a new Lego theme!
Roller coaster equals Lunar base!

Yes, and some very high end / high priced toys too. 7 seasons in a little over two years. LEGO are a little late but still surprisingly quick for them.
@johleth that's how I describe Fabuland...
"It's like Sylvanian Families made out of Lego"
I'll just assume it's the firefox in the Space Roller Coaster set.

It took Lego 20 years to jump onto the Spice Girls bandwagon, so they are getting a bit faster now.
The villain icon one just seems…odd. The Evil Queen in crone form with one of her poisoned apples, cool! But then Jafar, Maleficent and Gaston with just…books. And then a VHS, playing card and watch that aren’t associated with any of them. Feels like someone had the idea to do villains with associated objects and someone had the idea to do openable book dioramas (since those seem popular in the Harry Potter range) and they got kind of smushed together, with no-one quite able to agree on which villains to feature
Got to admit that villain's one seems a bit of a mess, with items that don't even apply to those characters. I am wondering if there are going to be other Disney sets, as atm in minifig form we have Maleficiant and Auroa, genie and evil genie, but no Snow White or the dwarves to go with the evil Queen or Belle and Beauty to go with Gaston?
Assuming the Disney Villains is a functional bookend, I assume they'll release a Disney Heroes one which makes the former look more cohesive? Based on other images, the card is Alice in Wonderland, and the watch is Peter Pan..?
I *want* that roller coaster. And yes, it'd be nice if they'd mold the Spacebaby in a new color, but it's also nice to get another one. I agree with @Ridgeheart that 31141 has a real Friends vibe to it. I suppose the reason that 43227 used a VHS cassette is that a DVD would be hard to brick-build, and there aren't any round tiles big enough to serve as one. Be cool if it opens, like a real cassette.
@PurpleDave: If the duos were individual sets, I'd buy the Pixar ones and the Beauty and the Beast one. (Speaking of which, the piece with Lumiere's face looks interesting...) As for the Pocahontas one, I've never had any desire to see that movie. Disney, creative license is fine when you're dealing with something that was already fiction, but those are historical people and their story you're playing fast an loose with... Although I understand the traditional account played fast and loose with the facts, the fact remains that John Smith and Pocahontas were real people, and they never had a romance. If memory serves, he was old enough to be her father.
There is a 4th Gabbys Dollhouse set.
Lot more pictures can be seen at this German (mostly) electronics retailer
https://www.saturn.de/de/category/lego%C2%AE-gabbys-dollhouse-75096.html
PS. I tried to avoid buying another line of toys with Gabbys Dollhouse merch, but now it seems inevitable :) :/
Wow that Maleficent minifig looks incredible!
She’s my favorite Disney villain after the MCP and Dr. Hans Reinhardt!
Those two Creator 3in1s might be among the best of the line, if they weren't so (probably) expensive. And another way to get Space Baby is always appreciated.
Gabby's Dollhouse is another license that I unsurprisingly have no interest in, especially with the mini dolls. Disney sets are fine I guess: I really like the Beauty and the Beast and Nemo figures in particular, but the villain icons set is a pretty flimsy premise. It focuses on the villains, but what do the VHS cassettes have to do with them?
Could they have at least had five dozen eggs for Gaston?

They probably don’t want to compete with BrickHeadz, since these would be similar products and price points
Theres a 4th Gabbys dollhouse set on the Australian site. Its 10785: LEGO® Gabby’s Dollhouse Bakey with Cakey Fun

NO ONE SELLS SETS JUST FOR ONE FIG LIKE GASTON
Creator 3-in-1 sets are nice but rather expensive. Roller coaster is 105€ and main street 130€. License pricing for 3-in-1 sets :(
My daughter is gonna be excited when she sees the Gabby’s dollhouse sets since she watches the show a lot. I need to decide now if I’m expanding to another theme. :D
I really like the Space Roller Coaster although, like the similar Pirate Roller Coaster, it looks like it will need a bit of fiddling to motorise. Maybe putting 'Batteries Included' on the box hopes to fool people they're for an included motor rather than the light brick!
Both the Disney sets look pretty good. Shall most likely pick those up.
Gabby's Dollhouse just Friends sets. Main Street just a Friends set with visitors. Not for me, but great for the right audience!
The Disney ones are cool, but rather specific in some ways. I can't honestly say the pig from Moana or the Little Mermaid's VHS tape are the first things I think of in terms of iconic Disney imagery!
The Creator sets look really good! I've never heard of Gabby's Dollhouse, but I'm not sure I would. The Disney characters set is a good idea, however, I'm not sure Pocahontas and Moana were good choices. They could have done Sebastian and Flounder and Cricky and Mushu from the Little Mermaid and Mulan.
I kind of want the mer-cat in 10786.
So they chose to do a whole theme for a small kid's show that's basically just on Netflix, and they also chose that to be Gabby's Dollhouse?
I guess the kids I once babysat who liked the show will like this, but... This has got to be the weirdest theme choice that Lego has made.

If you have a 5 year old daughter, you might have. She was thrilled. It's accurate to the source material.
@GrizBe:
Clearly, the VHS Little Mermaid case is meant to refer to the graphic designer who allegedly slipped something un-Disney-like into the cover art.
As for the duos, I think part of the problem is there needs to actually be a duo. Many Disney films only have one animal mascot, or none at all.
@R0Sch:
How many “boy’s” themes are there right now? That’s why. Besides, Friends appeals more to the traditional dollhouse crowd. Elves was geared more towards the girls who liked a more fantastical setting (unicorns and pegasi, rather than basic horses and ponies). Disney Princess obviously caters to fans of those films. DC Super Hero Girls was more action oriented. This can be yet another niche theme for girls, rather than limiting them to a single one-size-fits-all theme.
@Mylenium:
Even in the US, Netflix never had universal adoption, and with the splintering of the streaming market has largely become overshadowed by other brands. Other than Stranger Things, I can’t think of a single series on Netflix that’s truly a household name.
@Brickalili:
The playing card is the queen of hearts, so obviously ties to the Queen of Hearts. The watch really confused me in the previously leaked image, but I can see characters I recognize on the face, so it’s Captain Hook’s watch. Little Mermaid does have Ursula (in spite of what I mentioned earlier in this post), and these are all villains, even if they didn’t get a minifig in this set. BTW, Q of H, Hook, and Ursula have all received CMF minifigs, so I don’t see any villains who are represented in this set who don’t yet have one.
@PurpleDave
Did you mean to reply to me? Because I never mentioned not knowing who the other villains being referenced were, merely that they didn’t appear in the set, which you clearly know and agree with. Feels like either you didn’t read my comment properly or meant to reply to someone else
They may have remodeled and repainted, and the old auto body shop next door closed years ago, but I'm glad to see the old Legoland Hotel is still standing on the corner of Main Street 43 years later.

I just laughed so hard at that post by @PixelTheDragon that I almost choked on my Dr. Pepper. Note to future self: Never eat / drink while reading Brickset comments.
For those not familiar with Gabby’s dollhouse, the fact that Target and Walmart carry toys from the show should give you an indication of the show’s popularity.
What!? No DJ Catnip? Gtfo
31142 is such a wasted opportunity of making a Space roller coaster inspired by 6990... Instead we got more boring NASA-pandering stuff with Space Shuttles, a Saturn V-esque rocket.... The Classic Astronaut baby is totally out of place in the set.
Also, these Gabby Dollhouse sets look exceptionally good for +4 sets, they don't look like +4.
More Ws for creator! Love both of these and will probably pick up the roller coaster
Finding Nemo was the first film I ever saw in theatres, so that brick built figure pack is pretty tempting. Also a fan of the builds on Cogsworth and Luminaire. I thought I recognized the pug from somewhere, but the racoon was so bad I didn't realize it was Pocahontas until someone else told me. The Moana animals are alright, not good or bad, but call me when Tamatoa gets a set.
Love that the baby Classic Space fig is appearing another set. Would've loved a recolor, but that's still pretty sweet.
At first glance I thought that main street was remakes of a bunch of old Modular Buildings in LEGO City scale. That would've been so much cooler! Would've allowed you to "complete" the collection while saving a bit of money, while also keeping it minifig compatible.
From what I hear those boxes in the Villain Icons sets are supposed to be VHS boxes. Maybe I'm thinking of the Pixar ones specifically, but I could've sworn there was WAY MORE white on those things. It wasn't just the interior, it ran along the edges too, with the color and image just being a sleeve covering a portion of the plastic box beneath.
Making an entire theme out of a show a bunch of people have apparently never heard of is strange. You'd think they'd pick a toddler show that's more well known like Paw Patrol or Bluey. I also can't help but feel cheated that they're making a DreamWorks-X-Netflix theme now and not back when the She-Ra reboot happened. I want a Double Trouble minifig LEGO!
How the mighty have fallen… Dreamworks, now an animation studio making shows for toddlers (which isn’t even their first one) and even more than a few films for them. Yeah, 2022’s lineup was great stuff for all ages, not just kids, but have you seen what the rest of the 2020 decade has gotten from them?
In all seriousness, probably more sets I won’t buy but they certainly have appeal. A system dollhouse in particular is a cool concept and I might MOC something similar someday.
For some reason the Gabby's Dollhouse just instantly set off my "bootleg" alarm. Maybe the combination of the unfamiliar cat molds and two sets with almost exclusively pastel colours. But could a source of nice new printed pieces.
Space Roller Coaster??!?? Nice! And I see we're getting a re-use of baby spaceman. Also, who would have ever imagined we'd get a Lego VHS tape?
The Little Mermaid VHS makes sense to me. It was a really big deal when it was released, selling seven million units within its first month on the market and the first major Disney film to be put on VHS only six months after its theatrical run, as opposed to the pre-Renaissance classics that infamously never had home releases until decades later.
Will almost undoubtedly have to pick up Gabby's Dollhouse's, well, Gabby's Dollhouse. However, that main street looks like a mess of color and rather empty. I do like the coaster, but it's probably too expensive for us. Could not care less about the Disney sets, they look terribly boring.
Oh well. I was hoping for an original theme, but those Creator sets are a nice consolation prize
@TheOtherMike:
We’ve seen Lumiere’s face before, in Mickey’s elbow.
Pocahontas did marry an Englishman, but not anyone seen in the film. She also ended up moving to England, where she died very young. I mean, if blankets were dangerous, imagine moving to the blanket factory. As for the film, Colors of the Wind was one of the best songs they put in a Disney animation prior to Frozen basically making everyone forget Disney had ever put songs in any movie that came before, but nothing else from the soundtrack really made an impression on me. The script feels like it treated Native cultures respectfully (not that I’m an expert on the subject), but it definitely glossed over how the English treated them (not that any European culture really treated the New World as established nations). At the time, however, it was a big deal because Aladdin was the only other Disney feature with a non-white “princess” (unless you count Nala).
@Brickalili said:
"And then a VHS, playing card and watch that aren’t associated with any of them."
Yup, that’s the comment I was replying to, alright. To be fair, quite a few other people broached the subject, but this happens to be the first I ran into.
For anyone who may be questioning the Gabby's Dollhouse theme, I work in a chain toy shop in the UK, the Dollhouse from Gabby's Dollhouse was THE toy people were looking for last Christmas.
The amount of calls we got were absurd, it was one of those toys that was impossible to get your hands on and we barely got in.
I believe one randomly appeared (from a cancelled order or something) on Christmas Eve. It lasted about 10 seconds on the shelf before it got snatched up. The demand was incredibly high for it.
It's undoubtedly a smart license to pick up on Lego's part, especially in the 4+ line. It may be a little late as other commenters have mentioned, but Gabby's Dollhouse is still a good seller, and these will likely sell well.

It's good that you put the MCP at the top of the list. End of Line.
Speaking about there New sets of Marvel and DC Comic from Super Heroes!
@GSR_MataNui:
It varied from studio to studio, but Disney absolutely had a thing for paper-white plastic VHS clamshells. Most of the ones I owned had cardstock sleeves. I think some studios even had black plastic cases that were made of a harder plastic than the Disney cases, but that may have just been for blank tapes. However, while The Little Mermaid clearly got a VHS cassette, the other three look more like books. The inconsistent sizes make VHS cases highly unlikely, and one has what look like reinforcement straps on the spine.
@FreewheelBricks:
The individual sets only have to last one year with good sales to pay for their development, so as long as it’s still going strong _right_now_, that may be less risky than people think. It’s the overall license, and any 2nd wave sets that start tempting fate. I mean, Dimensions seemed really popular, for a while, but they scrapped the entire third year.
@PurpleDave
Rrrrright, so I make a comment saying “it’s weird all those objects come from different Disney villains than the one actually in the set” and your response is “Actually all those villains come from different ones than those in the set!”
Like…yes? I clearly knew that because I just said it?
Bit of a weird response is what I’m saying, Nate, you can see why I thought you might have had a different comment in mind
I think that 43226 Disney Duos should have been sold as individual pairs. Then, LEGO could've made more of them like Timon and Pumbaa from "The Lion King" or Jaq and Gus from "Cinderella" too.
This "Kitty Fairy"... I must have this fig. I simply must! OMG! Pre-order? Yes, please! :-D
I have never heard of this show. But, this has never stopped me before.
@ozbrickcreator said:
"I'm fine with 43226 and 43227, but a whole theme of a show I've never even heard of? Are you sure this is real?"
Just because you haven't heard of it, doesn't mean it isn't a major hit with tons of toys and merchandising already - including some of the hottest toys this past Christmas.
Oh - I so would have bought that Squirt/Nemo duo if it was a two-pack, but that way pass...
Back in my childhood (90's / early 2000's), VHS was king. (DVD was still coming out into it's own) Streaming? Unheard of. Netflix / Redbox were still a long way off too. All we had was Blockbuster and if you oddly couldn't find what you wanted there, Family Video. Man, those were the days... unless your rented VHS tape broke, or your machine ate it. (Then you had issues!) And don't forget, we should always remember to "Be Kind - Rewind"! It's too bad those days have dissolved into tape hiss / static...
@Murdoch17: "Be Kind - Rewind" There's a phrase this '80s kid hasn't heard in a while...
I’m happy to see more mini-doll content.
I’m always hoping for a more mature aged mini-doll theme (something Elves-esque), but I’m thinking that at least the 10788 Dollhouse and 10787 Garden sets could be re-worked into the Friends Pets subtheme? And, at least the mini-doll wardrobe is extended with Gabby’s outfits, and new micros are always welcome (I see you Merkitty, Kittyfairy, and Pandy-kitty!)
Mostly, I’m waiting for more mini-doll forms of the Disney Villains! They’ve got Maleficent well covered, an Ursula, and even a Lady Tremaine, but where’s our Mother Gothel, Evil Queen, Jafar, Gaston, and Prince Hans? Or a gorgeous Te Ka/Te Fiti duo build? (Please?)
@Brickalili:
That’s not how it reads to me. Even knowing this, while you did note that these objects are unrelated to the minifigs, I don’t see anything that clarifies that you had identified the source material.
@GSR_MataNui:
Now that I have a little more time, I took a closer look at the image. Beauty & the Beast definitely looks like a book, and is very different from the other two objects. I hadn’t looked at the “pages” on Aladdin that closely, but it definitely looks modeled after the Disney VHS case. Sleeping Beauty appears to be the same design, and they both have the Disney 100th logo (where the book does not). I think the idea behind the colored “cover” is that these cases had a wraparound insert like DVD and Blu-Ray cases, and trying to add the bit of white that peeks out around the edge may have been too difficult at that scale. Since it’s two layers, I might have tried it with the inner layer in white, and the outer layer in color.
VHS tapes are iconic villains? Tell me something I don't already know.
@PurpleDave
Going to have to give you a long rrrrright again, because a) I would suggest there’s a clear indication that I know who the objects belong to if I know they don’t belong to the villain minifigs. Otherwise I’d be asking where they came from, or what connection they had rather than instant “those don’t go together” and b) even if you think I didn’t know…I also didn’t ask. And pointing it out has nothing to do with the actual point I was raising in my comment about how mismatched everything in the set feels. So you’ve jumped in with a complete non-sequitur to try and point out something I already knew. Hence my initial confusion that your post even had anything to do with mine.
I know you like filling your comments with facts, but a bit of thought as well wouldn’t go amiss
I don't see why I should give 130$ for that Main Street, mainly windows, doors and a few bricks. Space ride is another story but still... Gabby , don't know it but I'm here for the LEGO pieces ??????
